I had the pleasure of chatting with the vocalist a year before he passed away, these guys were greats in the Canadian metal scene. Their older stuff is more black metal-ish, and progressively got more doom influenced and kinda like type o-negative. Check out their last album, almost seems like he knew he wasn't going to make another record.....

Dave was a pretty dark dude. I loved the guy but sometimes he would get stuck in these moods. He used to play drums back in the day...amazing drumming too.

The first song I heard from them was "By the time you read this I will already be dead". Then I found out the singer had died a year earlier, which was kind of haunting.

crazyerko that happened to me too. Woods 4 is an amazing album. In a sense, it seems as if he wrote his own epitaph with these lyrics. A very haunting aspect that makes this record hit you that much harder.

Just a little thing about the lyrics. This is about a couple if i'm correct according the video. On the first chorus he sings "all alone and unceremoniously" and in the next chorus he sings "alone and un-Sarah-moniously."

After Jetro recommended it I went and listened to it, liked it and bought the album (the Green Album). It was a very pleasant surprised. It's a beautiful album, dark and melodic. I really like his voice. He can go from a deep clear voice to a high black metal type scream with all steps in between, when most metal singers have only two options clean or scream (or growl). And I like the mix of the album. They kept the sound very raw. Not for the depressed though.
