I was ASHAMED of Relocating back to Uganda after 30 years in the UK🇬🇧 with nothing

I was ashamed of Relocating back to Uganda from the UK with nothing after 30 years.
Relocation is always a very difficult thing especially if you have no choice. This is the story of Auntie Jackie who lived in the UK (United Kingdom) for over 30 years. She lost everything she had and had to return home in Uganda with her 9 year old son. This is a story of how she has been scammed in Uganda during the purchase of her land and the building process.
she now documents here relocation story on KZread showing us how life is going recently.
I hope this inspires someone living in the diapora to return home In case things are getting harder.
please check her out on KZread at ‪@AuntieJacquiesDiary‬ and follow her current life story.

These people are poor and they see you as a person with lots of money and they want some. Many have been scammed and had to go back to America broke. 6 women in the Gambia have died mysteriously some murdered and thrown into wells so sad. If you were born in Africa that's your home its easier for you to return a lender in with your people whom you grew up with and know better than AA.. it does not mean that Africans will not be scammed by their people, but they know them better than a non African. All these AA are telling the world I gave up a 100.000. Job in America and came to africa, well if I live in a poor country, where I have to struggle And hear you can give up such a well paying job, then I would come to the conclusion you must be rich..I saw this young Aa lady who met a man on the bus one can see this dusty guy did not have a job, but she married him and in my opionion he has a very scary look to me, I heard him telling her to go cut some wood and he is showing us how strong she is and what was sad to me she is laughing like a little girl. Imagine a man telling her to cut wood I wondered what the he'll is wrong with him. But they have to know. The black tax, they see your face and employers won't hire you for any high paying jobs especially if you are male and black. Doesn't matter the qualifications. Medical care will be lower quality because they care less, won't be as careful. This is more particular to the United States, the worst country you can move to if you are of African descent. Don't do it! Extreme animosity here towards us, they assume we're stupid, and commit all the crimes, doesn't matter if you become successful and mind your business, the impression with people is still there.

Loneliness is indeed a real experience for many people living abroad. It's important for those considering leaving Uganda to take this into account and prepare themselves mentally, especially if they are feeling vulnerable. Aunt Jackie, your story has taught me a valuable lesson. It's crucial to understand that not everyone abroad is living a perfect life or is truly happy. Furthermore, we need to stop living our lives for the sake of others, constantly worrying about what they may think or say about us. This video came up on my feed and I watched it with my Mum. It was absolutely touching and so moving to hear Aunty Jackie’s story about her journey in the UK, and her openness about the emotions she felt including the shame and feeling of failure. I’m currently feeling some of those emotions feeling like I am X age and haven’t achieved very much. Aunty Jackie’s story reminds me that life is to be lived and there is always a next chapter. May God open doors for Aunty Jackie and may her latter be greater than her last.

Aunt Jackie's story is so touching! I love her honesty and brave to be recorded in this video to be seen by the world! Many people are suffering like her but can't brave the shame to return home! She is a blessing to many! Uganda is a very beautiful homeland it's the pearl of Africa, only those that haven't travelled don't know, we eat fresh food, weather is conducive, and Ugandans are so welcoming and social. My advice to the people in the diaspora, if you can work and save your money in the bank for a few years with interest, please do, and return home and invest it for yourself instead of being exploited and you live a life of regrets! Thanks @Lynne for this story!

You have done the right thing dear, and you are very brave. I also did the same in 2008. It was very difficult left right and center but every good thing comes with a price. I paid the price, and I am now living my dream. My suggestion is we should all team up and make an association for people out there who want to return, and give each other support where necessary. I believe there's a lot of things that we can do because of our exposure to the first world, because to be honest things are done differently in the first world in terms of perfection. Well done madam.

If you are from Uganda or Mexico or Guatemala, it’s best to go home where you can afford to live and have a happy peaceful life versus trying to stay where you cannot afford to be And become stressed out and have anxiety Because you can’t afford to be there.

Its so soothing and nice when I read comments of other Africans especially our Ugandan brothers welcoming her back home. My Nigerian brothers and sisters would rather see it differently, like its a taboo for anyone to return home from abroad with little. We see going abroad as tje biggest accomplishment in life and sadly mock people who talk of returning. Kudos to my sister here, you did not lose anything. You gained so much if I may say..

@@afrikanheritage99 my dear, I recently studied in the UK and found out its not a place I'd like my children to grow in. And for me to face the lifestyle over there after working in the oil industry back in Nigeria for years, for me to now come and start from rock bottom all in the name of being abroad..naaa!. I told my friends I'm going back home to my job, they all think I'm crazy or mad or something worse. But who cares. I know so many struggling and would have been better in their good jobs back home, but they rather keep the lie alive. To waste 10 years of your life struggling all over as matured adult in a foreign land is a No No for me.

I'm a Canadian with British parents, and I lived, worked and studied all over the UK. She's right: can't ask for help, it's very cold and damp and gets in your bones, the weather is bad, no sun, and the workplace environment is tough, toxic and pressurised. Further, the NHS is dying and you cant get health care. You can find warm people in the UK, but you have to look. I live in Taiwan now and while it isn't perfect, at least I can see a doctor, most people are friendly and my working hours are easy: hence watching this video.

Big hugs 2 auntie Jacquie for making the tough decision 2 go back home! All our lives r different and come with different challenges! The biggest lesson I've learned in life is: Always Do U! Don't invest 2 much time on other pplz opinions about u. U'll find out that those folks may have mo problems than u if u took time 2 scrutinize their miserable lives! They're simply trying 2 feel good about themselves that its not only them struggling!! Do what is in yo best interest cuz at the end of the day, the successes and failures u encounter will determine how well u survive the storm. So invest most of yo energy in getting yoself 2 the top of the mountain! Forget all the side shows along the way!! As long as ur still 6 ft above the ground, u still got a shot at a better tomorrow!! So keep yo head up!! YOLO!!

Beautiful African women, its such a joy to see life shining down on you and your transformative return home! More love, light, abundance and power to you both...💜💯✊🏾

Many have experince what Aunty Jacque experienced back home. I also went through the same. Never trust so-called family. The best is if u are able to travel back and forth, then go and manage yourself. Am happy ur on ur feet Aunty. Will be following u soon. Love from UK.

That lady is brave. At least she put up somthing for her self. One thing I hv learnt in UK or other western countries. However comfortable ur life is today, there is a big chance its not going to be the same years from now. Alot can change and u find ur self looking at ur house walls helpless . If u had put something up for ur self during the good times u can just get ur things go settle ur mind in uganda with what ever u invested in and then come bk to UK when u have reorganised ur self. Depression and stress is real and u are going to go through it alone. Ppl will just say sorry and that will be it. u go bk to ur flat or house with ur probmes until a serious medical condition kicks in and bye bye life. will be all u will hv left

Thank you all for your thoughtful responses......my story is long....not something I could type briefly......but in an attempt to get myself land, someone sold me land, and I later realised he actually didn't officially own it.....I have since tried to get my money back but its incredibly hard especially when you are out of sight.

Just stumbled on this video. Not a coincidence. I have lived in the US for ages and am ready to return home to Kenya once my kids graduate from college in a couple of years. Auntie Jackie you have a contagious smile. All the best. Look for remote work. Lynn you’re doing a fabulous job.

Your story auntie Jackie, is a true inspiration of courage that showcase the struggles that most migrants face in search of a better life. After 30 years of living abroad, what i see in this video, is a strong & courageous woman who knows what her purpose in life is & is following her dreams. God bless you auntie Jackie, looking forward to see the future chapters of your life's journey.❤🙏🏽

I can connect this story with repatriation. I have lived in the UK for 37 years, and I am pretty apprehensive about returning to Malaysia, just like you. I have been here since I was a teenager. I look forward to living in the house I bought for my parents, who have since passed away during Covid times. I learnt from your video that things happen for a reason. When my contract ended, I was so disappointed, but if this didn't happen, I wouldn't have considered taking an early retirement at the age of 56 and continuing on the rat race, just existing and surviving. I am looking forward to a new chapter of my life. I have my pension and hope to sell my property here in London. Just like you, the city has become too expensive. People are miserable, and so is the weather. I am sorry about those who scammed you and the rough time towards the end while in the UK. You are such a strong woman with young kids to bring up, too. God is with you, and I feel you will be happy where you are-nothing to be ashamed of because you have a lovely home and are stress-free. As you know, No amount of money can buy peace and happiness. Keep on smiling and put your head high. You are doing good. We don't have to be the Jones’s. ❤

She is probably a British citizen by now. Most people with British citizenship don’t mind returning back home because they know they have the privilege to live in the UK. Usually within 2yrs of staying in Africa they end up returning back to the UK. I kinda understand. You can’t enjoy Africa without money

This was so refreshingly beautiful to watch. Auntie you have a sweet personality and a good head on your shoulders. You will make a lovely life in Uganda so nothing at all to be ashamed of. In the UK working allows you to have things (Nice clothes, Big TV and a car etc) but building real financial stability is almost out of reach. As the the cost of living gets higher. Every person who has an opportunity to have something in their country of origin should try to make that dream real.
