Thanks for watching, and seriously you folks are great. It's been a wild ride to get here (I can't believe its been 12 years, and I also can't believe how far we've come since 246 subscribers). I'm so glad for and grateful for where things are and where they're going.
For those of you who are really keen, here is my very first KZread video on my old channel, shot on mini-dv tapes: • my first youtube video...

I would place Kurtis leagues above ASAP Science in terms of originality and credibility. ASAP are great but not really comparable to a channel like this.
Oh yes! This gets me excited man! And it isn't just the aspect ratio...although I'll admit that man oh man it was nostalgia inducing in the best of ways! Can't wait to see what you've got in the works, especially with bowling balls, lasers and islands - I believe you when you say this is going to be a big year!
As a channel just starting out, this video inspires me to dream even bigger. Thank you Kurtis, I am so glad you never quit KZread.
Kurtis so glad you persevered . Congratulations with the new space and excited to get to watch your journey! Keep up the good work :)

Soo glad you kept going. I love your work and vibe. The world is a richer place with you and your videos.
So happy to hear about the growth in your channel!
You’re so cool! I love how you remain excited and driven no matter what response or lack thereof you get. It’s so inspiring to see that you kept moving forward. Elizabeth, I just watched/listened to all of your music videos. I now can't decide if I want to listen to them again and dance or go pick up the guitar that I haven't touched in months. It's great. How did you make the music? I mean, are some of the instruments synth'd, or are you playing the guitar+drums+etc??? I'm a broken record, but it sounds great. My only feedback to you is to keep at it, yes yes everyone gets better with practice, but also I'm just selfish and I'd love to hear more so I hope you never stop. You've earned my subscription!

Kurtis Baute AHHH it makes me so happy that you like it!! I play every instrument except for drums myself and I write in my beats and use a drum machine for the stuff in the background. I have SO many more songs (which are better) coming and your encouragement means so much to me, thank you again❤️

I’m so happy for you man!! I’m so exactly where you were....I have two channels the first one I started in 2006 and this one in 2015 I’m at the point I’m about ready to hang it up I can’t even grow either channel to 10k subscribers. :/
Yeah! Remember that. I was in the first 1k and was struck seeing how thoughtful and elaborate your content is and that you were strugging to get 1k views despite that. Good to see how well it developed! Greets from Warsaw!

Passion always wins! Glad you accomplished what you set out to do. I wanted to give up on my channel so many times. Every time I plan to stop, I get a surge of energy to continue on. 32 subscribers is basically being a ghost. As a screenwriter, I realize that all it takes is one big break to achieve success. Will try something new. You have done a great job. Definitely look happy at the end of your video. Now, you can spread yourself thin to enjoy your passion! Thank you! 🙏

Mister Fester That extra money definitely helps out a lot. Would make following our passion a lot easier. For the most part, he can’t relate to other people’s struggles.
This is so inspirational! I just hit my first 100 subscribers and am lucky enough to have my husband support me, making it possible for me to make it a full time thing! Thank you for this video!
The first video I saw from you was the one where you took a picture of yourself over time (can't remember how long). You looked pretty sad in these pictures, but I love coming back to your videos now and see how genuinely happy you look. I hope to be able to start a KZread project soon, and you are an inspiration. Keep going, you're doing great!
Very cool Kurtis, you know you mentioned having a year to focus on YT and that’s amazing, but what’s even better is you used that opportunity! So many people (including myself many times) have so much opportunity and fail to utilize it fully. But you didn’t take it for granted. Good for you! 😊
This is so inspirational!! I love the message behind it! Thank you for sharing!!
Hey Kurtis another creator here and I feel you when you say you just don't feel like youtube is rewarding you in proportion to your effort but I'm happy to see how passionate you are. Glad KZread recommended this to me, keep up the awesome work and the passion! Much love, Joey Saves
Awesome story! I am in the same bucket as you were Kurtis. I make funny and weird videos & just need that one push or boost or something to get me to that next level of growth, to make even cooler content with more collabs. Glad to see that you KEPT GOING!
Wow this is super inspirational! I just subscribed because it touched me. Awesome videos. You are talented!
This is a very brave and encouraging video. Do not sell yourself short. You certainly did have a LOT going for you, but you did not live an extravagant lifestyle. You had enough to "not starve or get evicted". I believe the "secret" to you success was 1. A clear goal and passion to do something. 2.Focussing on what you did have, not what you didn't 3. Working really, really hard. The videos you made are fantastic, and the work it takes to be successful on KZread is tremendous! Thank you for being honest and, I believe, truly wanting to make a difference. I guess I'll keep working on my KZread channel a little longer...
Keep doing what you're doing *+Kurtis Baute* . I am so glad I saw you on the *+Tom Scott* video and really look forward to your work. You've got a great attitude and the world is a better place for your efforts being shared. Favorite video for me? Loved the domino drop video but also the foucault's pendum one as well. Actually, what am I saying, the "living in a jar" was super cool and laid out your points in a real and interesting way. BTW, I think you'd make a great science educator for kids.
You’re an inspiration, Kurtis! So exciting to see you reaching your goals and getting the recognition you deserve!
