Chris is a hard worker. One of the best additions to the channel and the whole FSC conglomerate.
Big pat on the back to Chris I’ve been a half a$& diesel mechanic for 25 years and I can see that guy is not lazy and is a pretty darn good wrench. On another note I never knew how much I needed a plasma cutter until I got one.
Thats going to be one heavy stepdeck.
should have given me a call I would have came over and supervised the rub rail lifting and moving!! LOL lots of hard work welding right there. Hard work makes life easier down the road!!
Good job ,good video, keep content comming, that's what trucking is all about fix on Sunday ready for monday
I sure am glad that you 2 got that warp straightened out- sometimes that will ruin a project! I’m sure glad it didn’t ruin yours! The trailer is coming along great ! Best of luck to you both with it! Can’t wait to see it all done! Keep up the great work guys!
One should protect your arms from the welding rays / sun burn. I don't, but usually the under side of your arms where the sun doesn't hit it, will get burned.
One of your best videos so far, I love to see you fabrication skills.
CHRIS IS SO SMART AND EXPERIENCED
Glad you see you welding and getting stuff done the drivers that are in my area are just helpless and don't offer nothing.
I absolutely love your shop videos, watching you put your trailer together is very riveting!

Great video Steve glad to see your stepdeck trailer is coming together nicely. It's good to see Chris maintaining your trailer and Orwell for that next load. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Steve and Chris.
Steve has gotten a lot done in the shop since Chris started working.

Hey Steve how are you doing today my friend Iike the watching KZread videos they are very educational videos and keep up the good I think that chirs is doing a great job by helping you out on project lie Orwell
Just another suggestion clean slag off welds with a needle scaler or 4 inch grinder with a six inch brush on it
Service videos is a plus alot young people getting into it need to know you can service your own equipment...
My hands got burned just watching you weld with out gloves 😂, I had to replace my tailgate on my end dump, and the jeans I was wearing had a big hole at my right knee, and man did my knee get burnt from welding

Great work.👍👍 Best wishes from the North.
Warped steel is a pain in the butt. Good job Steve and Chris. Starting to look like a trailer.
Looking good yall have a great safe blessed week 🙏. Won't be long before your using the trailer he is doing a great job he is a good asset, to ya brother be safe
Awesome video 😊
I miss the rusty wheel. LoL
Chris is working hard so Steve will soon need more trucks and trailers.
Bad flooding from the rain Friday morning. I had to pull my boat out of the water because the boat lift won’t go high enough 😂

Way to celebrate the fourth with those shop sparklers. 😉
Use a air line to cool off the welds to prevent warping.Just a thought.
Welcome back Steve
That truck could sure use a rusty wheel in the back...
Great video Steve loved it
Kudos on welding both sides of the butt joint, a lot of amateurs wouldn't. Hope you learned the lesson in that banana of a rail, weld all the small stuff on after it's attached to the frame. I have to stress something very strongly, and it's not just a peeve. Grind out any stick weld you did downhill and reweld it uphill. Wormholes and large slag inclusions are a massive issue. The only rod you can weld with downhill is 6010/6011 because it barely has flux. 6013 has a heavy amount of flux that pushes itself into the puddle if you try going downhill. Think how strong it would be if it was swiss cheese, because it very well could be. That's a world of liability you don't want to have.
Push harder, it’s going to be fine! 😊
Good afternoons yall thinking summer is here
Looking good gentlemen
Prior to completion of the new trailer, think about taking it on a semi-shake down ride with the emphasis on the shake. Some gentle twisting and bouncing will destress the metal you added/adjusted similar to shot peening parts.
Orwell look’n good!!
Good job guys!
How about some closeups of your welds?
Where is that awesome girl you had some welding done for you before !!!!

Hey Steve just curious if you think Chris could go over how he did your dump valve on your truck? I got a 79 on peterbilt airride i'm trying to find the best/easiest way to hook it and what switch to use, ect. Would love his input on this! Not really any good guides for this out there.
Nice hair cut Chris.
Question from a non-welder here - what is the idea behind hammering the weld after it cools off??

Hello Steve, hey I was just wondering if you're going to make the back part of the step deck trailer into a dovetail so you can load things with wheels on it or just leave it as is,let me know something okay, I would Appreciate it very much if you can okay thanks 🤔
should weld your pocket last on a down hand
You need to grab the recording deevice and show us up close what's going on so,we can yell at ya on how,to do it
Dam Jen's dressed up like she's your boss. That's how I work underneath trailer's and semi's I use ramps. I don't use Jack's or benpack lift's for semi's. Year's ago we nearly had a terrible accident when a benpack lift just started messing up bad. Lucky we was able to get tue truck down quickly. I called benpack lift's and told tuem ti get there $#@_ out.

My wife really wasn't interested in the trucking biz beyond the $$. My aunt was instrumental in my success. Even at 70 odd years old she wasn't past jumping behind the wheel and pulling loads to get the job done. And yes she had her commercial license . Had one since 1964..
Hello
Put the 1in lights in your siderail
@hughstephenson2957
18 күн бұрын
I tried that with one of my dock height trailers and it lasted about 4 months because every light was beat out of the rub rail and so I had to build brackets and inset them under the outer main rail
Its amazing what you two fellas are able to accomplish.
Have u considered putting a automatic tranny in orwell ? 6 or 8 speed auto ? I dont know if that would be good for what/how u haul..

If it is older than 1999 and it is not possible to have Eld because the engine cannot handle it.
Don't know what year it is but, that's alot of time labor material, you still have old axles and frame , after you sand blast paint your into alot of money I'd of looked for a clean used trailer, you can write it all off!! Correct?

Insurance companies don't like paying today especially on older equipment I don't know how any trucks you own but I have two tractors oldest is a 17 and a 19 both peterbilt gliders, three trailers oldest is a 15 then a 19 20 I trade my trailers while there still worth good value !! My 19 I speced out paid $67.000 they offered me $58.000 to $60.000 on a trade a month ago !!! Need I say more!
Yep it was my b day

And the stories too. Worth it!
bells ?????
The way I prevent steel channel from warping when joining two lengths together is by welding a temporary rib of 1/4"x 2"x 4' steel to the face of the channel. I then take piece of scrap metal and wedge them in the center of the joint on each edge of the flange and I tack each side so when I weld the flanges the weld can't pull the flanges and twist and warp the metal. After I grind and sand you can't tell it was welded.
You guys need a steel fabricator, what are you well still it should not move no more than a quarter inch north south east or west . Good luck
Good evening. Evolution makes a 15" metal chop saw, it has a carbide blade, 14" blade size. Had a abrasive blow apart, jogged the memory while watching the video. Figured what the hell.
Don't forget to LIKE video's you watch ❤❤❤

Hey Steve, I know your personal friends with Tim gentry. Please help him with his channel his live videos ain't that good and his channel is going suffering because of it
@bigredgreg1
19 күн бұрын
I used to follow Gentry & Sons when FSC had a much smaller channel. I commented then that Tim should see how FSC films and edits content. The frustrating part was that FSC wanted to emulate Tim because Tim had a bigger subscriber base. Thankfully FSC stayed on track and continues to grow.
@fsctrucking

I am personal friends with the Gentrys. And no I am not and never "emulating" Tim. He has his and I have mine. At times we work together. But mostly we are friends with common goals and interests. He is going though stuff currently. I am his friend. I advise him and am there for him as needed, if needed. I want nothing but the best for him. This can be perceived differently between fans of our channels. And many different opinions come from that. Ultimately, my business is mine, Tim's is his. He is a friend I support 100%. KZread is a distant thought around a friendship. Fans will watch, or they won't. But I will be there regardless.
