i can't understand dialects but i still enjoy these shows LOL. they have a charm to them & feel more authentic than the mandarin dramas. sorry...

Amazing. A society transformed. I noticed a mixture of Teochew, Hokkien, Cantonese, Mandarin and Singlish. When I was a child (9 years old), there are areas in Singapore where you need to speak a certain dialect like (Hainam or Hakka) or you will be bullied. That was in 1958.

Enjoy watching this drama in various Chinese dialects. Hokkien in Singapore different from our Hokkien in Penang.
it is good to have a mixture of Chinese dialects in this serial.....splendid

Entertaining, good to have them speaking in dialects. Bring back good old days where dialects were widely spoken. Pitiful, now younger generation don't know how to speak dialects. More spoken in Singlish and Mandarin mixed with English injunction.

I think dialect dramas were so much better than the 9pm ones. Stories interesting and funny too. So glad Lee Nan Xing and Chen Li Zhen were in this drama. Very disappointed with the drama they had acted in previous 9pm drama "The Peculiar Pawnbroker) (not their acting but the 👎storyline).

是闽南语，新加坡口音的（融合了潮州话和一些外来语）福建闽南人还是可以听懂的95%，福建南部、台湾全省都是讲闽南语的。只是口音不一样，同一种方言。剧中有潮汕话，潮汕话也是闽南语-潮汕片，和闽南语-闽台片可以沟通60-70%。
开头是潮州话？

我在李南星大哥的身上没有找到任何的缺点。他也不像是个演员，更像是一个国际巨星。是一个全新加坡或全世界都找不到第二个跟他一样的样貌的脸的大帅哥，不要你的女人，确实真的走宝了。。。
