Sometimes in life, people grow apart, and some things are irreparable. You have to know when it is time to eliminate certain people from your life for your own wellbeing, no matter how many years the friendship has lasted.

@@missychelle33 I think it was definitely a lot more real in the earlier seasons.. It only started getting fake as the show came to an end. Especially the last season.. They were straight acting by that point. Even Kristin Cavallari said the whole epic fight between her and Audrina over Justin Bobby was staged. "IT'S ON BITCH" They didn't even hate each other in real life. The producers told them to act like they do and start fighting over Justin even though Audrina was already over him by that point.

That's the problem, Heidi used Lauren from day one. They met in school when Lauren went to San Fran and then moved in with her family when she came back to Laguna after not enjoying life and school in northern California. Then MTV moved forward with a Laguna Spinoff with Lauren and cast Heidi. All Heidi wanted was to be rich and famous. Lauren treated her as family, Heidi saw Lauren as vehicle to the life she always wanted. Having money and being famous! That's why she took Spencer's side.

That always struck me as the biggest difference between Lauren and the rest of the cast (esp Speidi). Lauren wasn't willing to flush her character down the drain for a TV show/fame.

Watching this scene as a teenager you never think this is something that can actually happen to you and your best friend...then you become an adult and realize that some people need to be cut out. I get this now.

They tried their best to hurt humiliate and destroy Lauren's reputation only to end up broke D grade celebrities. Lauren went on to became a successful woman worth millions and now lives a happy private life.

I would always pass by their apartment when my grandpa picked up my grandma from work. My teenage self would be looking out the window hoping to see them. 😂

Heidi would’ve had a completely different life if she didn’t meet Spencer. She was best friends with Lauren, happy, carefree… Spencer made her destroy friendships, burn bridges… And I don’t know what men would let their wife or future wife have 50 plastic surgery procedures in your early 20s, in one sitting. she never looked the same after that. Spencer is still desperate for fame and trying to get attention… They never made anything of themselves… Yeah… I wonder if Heidi realizes that she settled in the worst way. It was never scripted. There was never limes they had to memorize. It was manipulated by producers and certain cast members had completely fake story lines that they improvised with producers but a lot of it was scheduled reality.

It’s crazy how this friendship ended I would see Heidi almost every day at my old job but it’s nice to see her and Spencer still together after all of these years

This scene was so strong and sad to watch, the final desition of Lauren to let go friendship with Heidi...

I love Lauren , her character is so real and has been throughout all of The Hills . I love how she was such a good friend to Heidi , when Heidi was not a good friend to her . Heidi should've left Spencer the time he started these rumors , but the fact that Heidi kept being with him throughout all of that makes me believe that Heidi and Lauren should not have been friends at all . Lauren has been through so much and she didn't have to suffer throughout all of this but since Heidi and her were best friends for so long , she only wanted her best friend back . i honestly believe that things could've been better if Spencer was never in the picture to begin with . But i give props to Lauren ending that friendship with Heidi . If Heidi can't leave a guy who treats their best friend like garbage , then Lauren is better off without Heidi . Lauren did the right thing , if you can't leave Spencer , then we can't be friends ever again . Heidi made her decision , and Lauren made hers . This is why I love the way Lauren is so real with everything . That type of mentality is what we need to dust off people like Heidi and Spencer , and others that wanna hate on you .

i wish things could go back to normal. So sad to see how things in life can turn. Once upon a time somebody is your bestfriend, and the next thing you know you never talk to each other. 😔

I know right 😢 I see just how naturally beautiful she was in the first season and it makes me so sad. She was so effortless with her loose flowy dresses and no make up and Spencers insanity (and possibly him always having a wondering eye) made her want to change everything and I hate that this is a thing and that some girls feel this way.

God Heidi was so beautiful pre all her work.

I know it’s so sad to see. She was so naturally, effortlessly, ethereal, and she just became all plastic 😢

How can Hiedi stay with a guy that distroyed her relationship with her BFF? How could she stay with a guy that did something like that to her BFF? That is a sick rumor to spread about someone. On screen and off screen.. I have never looked at Spencer and thought for a second that he was a good guy. Even in off screen interviews this many years later. He makes me feel yucky.

When Heidi is in the moving truck looking at Lauren's reflection in the side mirror? Yessss! I remember watching that scene thinking Heidi was so stupid to choose Spencer. Then again- they're still married so what do i know.
