Meanwhile my insurance in the states only covers like 3 hospital in a 15 mile radius.

Aaah yes the rabies shots... I got attacked by a dog in Laos while driving north to south with a motorbike and I also had to find hospitals in Laos at certain times to get my 5 shots. It was quite interesting because many times they did not speak English so I had to mimic a dog and wag my vaccination passport in the air to explain what I wanted ... But as you said: You don't wanna mess with rabies!

Hey Christoph, I wanted to ask, how did you finance the journey? I can imagine that life on the road was rather cheap, but still, did you do any short-time work or did you use your savings?

ah mostly just unhygienic roadside grub i think
