I'm so glad to see you still in this thing BLTV! I would definitely love it if they added many of the things you pointed out in this video. The game definitely won't be coming out anytime soon if they want it to be the greatest, that's for sure! So many legendary stories can be told and I hope they do have a showcase mode for each legendary fighter.

Gotta say this is one of the best breakdown videos of any game that I have ever watched. Appreciate the dedication to the sweet science!

This is one of the best and informative game reviews I've ever seen. I don't mean for a boxing game, I mean overall period. Wouldn't expect anything less from BLTV though

IMO Fight Night round 3 was the best boxing game of all time

People may disagree, but games are a great way to get younger people into boxing.

No its not video games are never a great way of getting into combat sports, Most people don’t play boxing or MMA games for sim they play it for online matches, They learn no technique irl combat instead they learn what works in video games, Just look at UFC for example so many people got into UFC cuz of Connor and the video game, but when you see them fight irl, they cant even throw up a proper guard, they have no technique, it should be the opposite where kids should start off in the gym and then get into the video games, Fight Night and UFC games have actually just made kids think they can actually fight just because the game they play smh

@@doomsephiroth it doesnt matter which, the fact is even if it gains interests it will gain interests off the simple fact that its a online competing game, like tekken, street fighter, those type of games, lets be honest majority of fans now getting into the UFC gaming franchise is not playing the game to fully breakdown the fundamentals or methods of actual fighting, most people are spamming, and just looking for KO’s and if they are, they are doing it as a means to beat the game(CPU or other User), Like I said it’ll just be the same as celeb boxing, jus look at guys like rdcworld, that is a perfect example, now there are gonna be people who will fall in love with the sport genuinely from playing the game, like martial mind, but generally those guys already a fond fascination to fighting already, FIFA is a great example of this, look how many people hopped from Madden to FIFA just because online, you think those guys give a buck about soccer?? 😂

The jab needs to be more of a significant punch in this game, once they get the jab feeling right it will go from a good boxing game to a great one.

@@Notpoop906 I'm a out boxer jab based fighter. Ive landed upwards of 400 jabs across 12 rounds on players using Ali and Robinson and they just eat the jabs and blast back with hook spam. There is no effective damage done by my jabs to the head or body. The judges also do not seem to score my jabs. This is proven. Jab needs damage increase across the board.

@@jansendawe9212 not only the jab, but I don’t like the way fighters stand up straight with their legs close together in one spot, square on throwing straight punches with no snap. That also has to change as it doesn’t look authentic. Also, the way they stand and move when they block, almost as if they are slightly tilted forward awkwardly kinda needs to be addressed as well. I think that has more to do with the skeletal mesh they used for the fighters not really having a full range of motion, muscle and joint wise due to limitations of the game engine (Unity) maybe, the lack of complexity when it comes to the skeleton they used to overlay the animations onto as well.

The next Fight Night should just be a remodelling and modern graphics of Fight Night Round 3, because its gameplay and controls are still the best in any boxing video game.

Bltv... I love you so much! You make boxing feel great again! One thing I'm worried about this game is that it only has one configuration for controls. On fight night you had options just like fifa to suit your style... I prefer the one button for each punch and the bumpers for signature punches, body punchers, blocking and to turn your shots into hooks... so much better, better control feels more free and fluid, takes more skill imo instead of just rolling that damn stick around!

I think they should add really realistic bruising and damage on players after they get punched. There should be doctor's stoppage too (though rare. Or at least an option you can turn on/off). Lastly, they should add career mode and make it the best as they can. Like realistic press conference where you chose some dialogues yourself like the dialogue option shown in the video

Also, the more we all buy in during early access they more money they have to hire better developers and add better mocap and animations. This game can potentially be great, we as boxing fans should really back these guys, they are trying to give boxing fans a great game and are passionate about doing so. Great video bringing attention to this game, this is the first I've heard of it, and based on this I'll pick it up if only to support the devs and hope for success for them. I've also dreamed of a modern boxing video game but in the 1st person simulation mold. That would be a real challenge, but if it could be done it could be absolutely amazing. In the meantime I'll get this and practice chopping down Wilder and Fury with big Frank!

Absolutely wonderful breakdown!

This is a very good game, all things considered. The biggest issue in my opinion is that if you actually use the jab, it’s easy to block and I believe that the easy blocks are what breaks the judges score. It makes me not want to jab because it’s counting against my score.

I was the lead designer on Knockout Kings 2000 and 2001 and was hoping this would be better. It’s a huge effort to make a good game let alone a good and authentic sports game. Your complaints are 💯 fair from what I see.

Guys the game is great value right now, even in it's current state absolutely worth buying! Let's support these guys. The more money they can make, the better game they can ultimately create over time and more so the sequel.

Fight Night round 2 and Round 3 are still my favorite boxing games. The mechanics for Champion was too different for me to enjoy it as much.

Same, for me it was mainly the dumb down controls that annoyed me with later Fight night titles. Nothing more satisfying then winding up a Haymaker and following through and it connecting as opposed to just pressing L1 and flicking the analogue stick :/

Back in the day I loved fight night round 2 and Rocky on the Xbox. Tried the next fight night but haven’t played many boxing games since then. Sounds like I haven’t missed much.

U R Not Alone My Friend I Too Have Been Waiting

4:47 the game actually runs on Unity, which was a surprise to me at first. It doesn't really look like a Unity game at a first glance, but once you look a bit closer you can spot the Unityness of it.

1. Firstly they need to increase the frame rate massively 120 FPS and speed of the punches 2. They should also get the HBO cast to do the commentary - Larry Merchant, Jim Lampley and add in UK's Ian Darke 3. We need visual damage, cuts, blood, bruising, swelling etc 4. They have to add legends (my personal favourites are Mike Tyson, Naseem Hamed, Barerra, Morales, Pacman, Calzaghe, Lennox, Holyfield)

2 and 4 are probably gonna be an impossibility cuz of one thing: MONEY. They aint gonnt have the money to 1.) license out Merchant and Lampley to do commentary during fights and 2.) they sure as hell aint gonna have the cash to license living fighters. Its nice to dream but its a pipe dream

They should be able to use a steady jab as a measurement or to keep the opponent at bay and more of different clinches, shoulder defense to push opponent at bay

10 years without a boxing game says a lot about the state of the sport the last 10 years tbh… used to come home from college with my boys when I was in my 20s, knockout kings, fight night… strong memories. This game looks fxxxing amazing, hyped 🎉

Fight night round 3 is actually an Xbox 360 game. It was so damn good, it was on the news talking about its realism and photo realistic fighters.

The design encourages unrealistic "spamming". I.E. you might think a jab, left hook and right cross would be a good combo, you're better off throwing 3 left hooks. This is because the game decides being rocked on how damaged a part of your body is. i.e. those 3 left hooks will cause the right side of the opponent's face to take damage where as that other combo will spread the damage over the face rather than concentrate it on one area. I think they should change this aspect so that the parts of the head only matter in cuts/bruises but there is only "head" damage which contributes to being rocked/KO

That is not entirely true. U do have a sort of health bar. U can see it after every round, and it depletes itself when u get punched rrgardless of where the punch hit u

@@bigeggmayo123 that health bar doesnt play as much into getting rocked because it takes a long time to drain it. The main thing that rocks you is how much damage consecutively youve taken to one part of your body before it recovers

You should do a "how good was it?" episode for any boxing game you can get your hands on.

The disagree with having minigame in the between the rounds. It just holds up a match having to dink around. It's more important to be able to skip it and get back to the action. They finally figured out a good way of doing it in Fight Night Champion and having the fighter be able to regain health.

This game is 5 years away if the devs actually work on it and add all the missing stuff. But something tells me they'll just release in a state not that different from what it is now and cash in. The Publisher is not gonna want to wait/invest more into it, they want to see it release as soon as possible and and make money.

Put it out on consoles already!!!! Waiting so long 4 this!!!!

All the videos that get posted 4 people that have the game for months .playing it consistently and showing off that they have it ,good for u .thank God for mortal kombat 10 and 11 and fifa 23 .It will come eventually for consoles but they are taking way too long to release it ,very frustrating and annoying. Maybe another 2 to 4 months away for an actual release date .

Another issue for me is all the boxers fight the same, you don't see a inside or outside boxer. Like Marciano hasn't got his tucked chin or coming in low, he fights like everyone else in an upright position no variation in defence I.e. philly shell and again on marciano you could add in special moves like a Suzie Q or a Gazelle hook. You could have rope a dope for Ali and Fury, like a super fast combo if they have Amir Khan on it.

I'm 41 so thus game is mind blowing for me. Played streets of rage yesterday

My grandfather loved boxing as did my father, so as I was growing up I’d watch boxing with them every week (born in 81). To this day, being a boxing fan and a gamer as well, my favorite boxing game os Fight Night 3 on PS3. The thing that made the PS3 version my favorite was the first person mode. It just felt so awesome to me. The following games in the series were good, but never quite matched that feeling that Fight Night 3 did…..

Enjoying the game just can’t wait for create a fighter and career mode

As of right now round 3 is the perfect boxing game so far. THIS game has potential and with the right adjustments can be very very good.

Agreed. Nothing has topped round 3 yet. Every game since has been rockem sockem. I do like undisputed a lot though and hope it improves. I think the fact that punches track is why boxing games are not good anymore. It makes it to hard to use defense. Which is why these games just become rockem sockem. Where you just are exchanging the whole Fight. Pull counters and block counters are the only viable defenses .

@@ronin3635I respect your opinion but I’ll defend round 3..what’s that dumb gimmick? Because the power punches are so easily avoided and countered and when you do counter them you can land so many strikes back making the power move a HUGE gamble to do against someone who knows how to play.. It’s the most technical game 100%. The lean mattered SO much. 4-5 counters in a row and you could start to rock you opponent. Things had actual consequences in this game. Everything mattered

Fight night was the best. It was so customizable i played several characters into their 50s. EA mma was awesome too.

It will get better over time !

What a fantastic and conclusive overview of the current state of the game. I'm glad the devs gave you early access and I sincerely hope they watch this video and take notes as this is an invaluable deep dive consultation as to how they can improve the game exponentially. Bravo and devs please take note!!! 🥊

I had an xbox 360 plugged into my TV only for fight night champion the past 10 years, I can safely say I've now retired it. Great review, and some very valid criticism. I think given the very early state of the game, theres a lot that's going to come over the months and maybe years ahead to improve many of the aspects mentioned. I've had this from day one, and along with being a beta tester I can say it's definitely evolved quite a bit from the original beta, and I expect the evolution will continue at a pretty steady speed. Given what this team has pulled off, and my earlier expectations when ESBC disappeared from steam (thought it was dead in the water), they've proven they're a proper team, and in this for the long run - I just hope they get the appreciation and attention they deserve (you had some good ideas on that element too, and I hope they see this). In terms of the main features I'd like to see added next, a replay system would be fantastic, along with some new animations. I also think a few more boxers to add more variety (as you had mentioned) is a must, being from the UK I also agree there's far too many UK boxers!

as a avid gamer and a fan of boxing this was great to watch

What i have been missing in this game is the wave movement you could do by doing a semicircle in your direction joystick to wave inside the opponent like in fight night champion, that helped a lot using short boxers to get inside the "punch zone" when someone was trying to run away or situations where you gotta wave inside. Like peek a boo sytle. I really find annoying and unrealistic that someone runing away just by moving backwards or to the sides can outplay the opponent so easy. Its not easy to keep distance in real life guess why? Because i can ruuuuuuuun. Legs do run. In this game looks like you are only allowed to run when the opponent is dizzy. If they work on that stuff then this game will get better and better.

This game has so much potential. Fight night Champion was a great game but is more than 10 years old now. This game could be a worthy successor if the Devs can take their time to polish what they have! Here's hoping.

Fight Night was an amazing game. I have gone 12 rounds with a good friend, in the middle of a house party! 😂 He won by judge's decision. It was as close as you can get! Side note: We used to play Tiger Woods PGA Tour as well. Actually a REALLY fun game when you're drunk. Trying to hit bombs! 😁

This game is honestly amazing. Even with the cheese of spammers abusing mechanics and some hackers ruining the experience at times, it’s an amazing boxing game from a small development team. I noticed how you said aggression works the best, but after learning the game and playing a lotttt of it, actually boxing your opponents and learning that accuracy actually matters in scoring, the distance with good defense works best. Even when trying to get the KO, if you work the body, keep your stamina, you’ll get your KO by round 4

Fight Night round 3 and round 4 is the best boxing game to this day to this day 💪

If this was E.A. I'd be very critical but the fact that these new guys are trying to give the fans something that alone has earned my patience and hopefully they can improve on it and have a great game later on down the line I'm supporting all the way good or bad
