I Visited My Football Manager Club in Real Life
Ойындар
It’s the dream of everyone that plays Football Manager, I made the pilgrimage to the 6th tier side that I have taken to the Premier League on Football Manager. I had never even been to a non-league match in England before so this was a whole bunch of new experiences all rolled up into one!
Playing Football Manager essentially for a living is a dream too good to be true and I hope to keep chasing all the cool things we can do with it. For example, this is the first in a series of videos with the team, all of which I had a tremendous time filming and will hopefully answer some questions you have asked yourself while playing Football Manager.
Much Love,
The Zealand

Taunton is actually a really nice part of the country! My friend lived there for 3 years while his girlfriend attended university, he had nothing but praise for it

Visiting the club that you've been playing on FM23 save is just mind-blowing and unbelievable hope one day I can do it as well (I live in Asia)

Great video mate - the fact people like you exist to boost the reputations of these smaller clubs is awesome. 33 minutes this video has been live and it's had thousands of views. Like 5 times as many views at this stage as Taunton's average attendance.
Every little town or village having its own semi-pro or amateur team, AND having a loyal fanbase, is the most wholesome thing in the world.

This is one thing I really wish we had here in the US. Probably the only thing close to it would be high school and college football. But having something on a much wider scale would be totally awesome.
@billsager5634

@@JimTheFly Considering there are high schools that draw 20,000+ fans per game, and college teams that draw 50,000+ per games - these non-league teams don't even get that many fans per season! Heck, I graduated from a small D3 school, yet would have 15,000 at our home football games. That said, watching Zealand's (and other content creators) visits to non-league clubs - just makes you want to take a non-league stadium tour, catching as many non-league games as possible.

@@billsager5634 Good point. Especially in areas like Texas and Florida where HS FB is HUUUUGE. And wow, honestly, I wouldn't have thought that a D3 would have that kind of turnout. But yeah, this is the kind of video that makes me wish I was over there bouncing around the little clubs in smaller towns and experiencing that lower-league feel.

@@JimTheFly Same. I'd rather watch non-league than MLS but options here are very limited. In an alternate universe, only barring outside factors/influences or the ASL not being a shitshow, it could have found a much better foothold here. Nothing close to England of course, but HS/college/semi-pro at least would be far more prominent than it is today.

@@billsager5634 I do love the irony of the US having the most Communist approach to Sport anywhere in the world.
I love this social media manager guy. As someone who is studying communication, the fact they were on top of you playing taunton so fast is incredible and for them to see the opportunity to be played by a KZreadr to grow their reputation is awesome and inspiring to me. I think I might keep an eye out for Taunton in the future
Zealand! I just wanted to reach out and say a massive thank you for showcasing our home town in your latest KZread video. It was such a delight to see our town being highlighted, and I appreciate the time and effort that went into filming and editing the content. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in your next video! 👏🦚🎥💯 #UpThePeacocks
Picked Weymouth for my non-league save, so it's really a delight to see them in a video of yours. Took your advice and brought Hamzad Kargbo in, so far 3 straight promotions :))

I've been a Weymouth fan for years - essentially finding them via FM. I have at least one Weymouth save for every FM. At least I can listen to their games here in the US via Mixr.

@@billsager5634 I've even managed to keep original players such as Kyprianou, Howe and Bearwish in my starting 11.
Great video, you’ve made my sons day he’s one taking a picture with Zealand at the start of the video and it’s also his birthday today
I did a similar thing last year, finally getting to visit Whitby Town, who I'd managed to unfeasible glories (multiple Premier League titles) back when I used to play the game 20 years back. I'd taken them over in the national league, when they'd just been promoted, and had no real players.
Taunton and Somerset is a really great place to live. So cool to see Zealand in Taunton!
Although I really like your FM videos this together with the visit to the FAC Platz is such a fun watch. I really hope that future teams are equally interested in creating this unique connection.
This is a really amazing video. If you compare to Zealand's video when visiting FAC around last year, you can see a lot of difference between professional team in Austria 2nd division and semi-pro team in England 6th division. I hope you keep doing this kind of video in the future as well
I live here, and it’s crazy to see you posting a video of visiting 😂😂

I work in Taunton so I've loved following this save. The production for this is amazing mate!
As someone that has been born and raised in Taunton and supported this club since I was a kid, watching your save and this video has been so much fun, thank you for bringing eyes and fans to our club and town! Sad I couldn't make the game due to work (I actually work on the same road as the ground) but glad you enjoyed your day at the mighty Wordsworth Drive arena!
Fantastic video - thank you for welcoming TTFC into your life Zealand. Thank you as well for your time on BBC Radio Somerset as well :)
After all of this, Weymouth managed to stay up after going on a run of wins.
Thank you for this video i live just over the road from the ground and the noise this town makes when its match day is unreal. It looks like you enjoyed yourself a lot as well. Always welcome to Taunton zealand.
This is amazing, I love this so much. It’s crazy how much you can do from playing Football Manager to meeting and interacting with the actual football club yourself
Fantastic video Zealand and Adler! The quality is top notch, and the story so well told! Love Taunton for being so welcoming, love the Hammers that traveled to see the game with you, and can’t wait to see the next video! #upthepeacocks
Seeing my lovely little west country represented by the Z is beautiful
this is so wholesome. well done zealand, you're a lovely guy.
If you're looking to do something similar to your Taunton Town save, next season, you can play as Rushall Olympic, who have also never been up in the National League North in their entire existence, also one of my local clubs too!

That would be very cool! But he generally tries to mix it up for his stream saves. Belarus, Columbia, Portugal, Austria, now finally non-league in England.

This is crazily random! Never thought I’d see My home towns club in a KZread video. Good job mate!
Thank you for visiting our little town, it was great meeting you! ⚽️
"Here we have tonights tactics: Hope." Managerial Masterclass.
Love seeing their manager actually do the FM thing of just handing over press duties to his "assistant" 🤣
This was great to see, and it's so obvious that it meant so much to you, Z. So glad you got to have this experience.
Fantastic video, I loved it! Can't wait for the the next video with the players!
Was great to see you there!
This might be your best video to date Z. Love to see it. Up the Peacocks!
Awesome video. It's amazing that all the support from people on here and Twitch have given you the platform to do things like this, the Dorfers visit and the other match day vlogs last year. Looking forward to the other Taunton videos!
Probably My Favorite video from Z The professionalism on the content is Mind blowing
My home town, I miss Taunton. The County Ground, Vivary Park. Things are very different here in Georgia USA!
What is actually epic about this vid is that i was there at the game with my dad and i thought you were there bud but i was like nah must be my eyes innit 😂
Nice to meet you Zealand and good to see our board in a few shots 👍😏
Jake was great! Nice video Z
Big up crumpy- was a pleasure meeting Zealand as well
Love these visits!!! Floridsdorfer AC was great, and now this one!!! I'm looking forward to the upcoming videos! Keep up the good work man!!!❤️
Class video Zealand. Taunton are massively in need of a stadium upgrade in order to be allowed to progress up the leagues have you thought about doing a fund raiser for them in order to improve the stadium?
Great vid Z. I love this kind of thing. One of the underratedly beautiful things about FM is its connection to the real world. And videos like this from people like you help further that connection to the game.
At first, I thought this might be a kinda boring video, but it turned out to be both heartwarming and charming! I have already slapped myself on the wrist for my unjustified, preconceived fear of boredom. When you said you spent the evening in "Tauntaun," I finally realized why you remind me of Luke Skywalker. Thanks for the video and I'm glad you and your club had a great time!
What a video, that’s the best Zealand video I’ve ever seen. I only follow the KZread videos and admittedly haven’t followed the Taunton series but thoroughly enjoyed this. I’d love if you somehow got involved with all non league clubs and did these inside looks a lot more! If I could like 10 times I would
Your storytelling is incredibly entertaining
being from the South West and growing up near Taunton I am so happy to see the love towards not just the non-league game but the fact that the best FM KZreadr went there and praised the area. Gutted to have not known about this! Would have happily made the trip back to have met the big Z.
Zealand to the coach as an assistant manager: *we’re being overrun in the midfield*
Just give this man a British Citizenship. I’ve watched him go from only FM knowledge to knowing more about the game then I do and I’ve been following it for 20+ years! Hopefully will see you at a Burnley game one day!
Zealand is very good at what he does. Great content !
This is awesome on every level
Great video. Looking forward to the next one
the power of a football game called Football Manager ..... this was simply fantastic..
great vid
Wish we had the pyramid system here in the states...where teams actually get promoted/relegated. Something to always play for.

Yeah, I just can't bring myself follow our city's men's team, because I know that they will never be in the top division and they can be terrible and never drop. It feels like nothing is riding on it. (Obviously a lot is riding on it for the players/coaches/etc)
I need to go to some more non league games at my local club. Literally just a 5 minute walk to the ground.
Lee Lucas used to live with my cousin when they were at the swans I think.. recognise the name. Cool to see him still playing
What u did is fantastic.. I dont know much about fm21 but this video❤
Rob Dray.... What a lovely guy 👍
Very good video mate, really interesting
I literally went there like 28yrs ago...U shld check out summerset, Cornwall and devon - it's the best part of England along with the lake district imo
This is fantastic.
This is my Hometown football team!! Go Taunton! I played for then personally for couple of seasons, this is absolutely madness!!
I live in Bristol a few miles away i been playing FM/CM from the start. Use to go to school with Lloyd James Lol. Great to see you in England!
fuuuuuucking legendary this is bruv :D livin the dream indeed , waiting for the next episodes
Weymouth stayed up eventually by winning the last match of the season.

Yes, an absolutely must win over Dover Athletic. Weymouth, Dover, and Dulwich Hamlet all ended the season at 48 points, but Dulwich was relegated due to goal difference.
man ive been waitingggg for this vid
Not sure how this made my feed - but glad it did
As a Bristol Rovers fan, upsetting to see Taunton actually have a nicer ground than us.....
Been waiting for this 👍👍👍👍❤️
Love these videos
Great video, Z
Awesome!!! Now we want the Zealand - Mcoots Taunton Legends one to one interview!!!!
Your content for a football game is pretty f'in awesome
Amazing video 👏🏼
Crazy content Zee 🔥
that was really emotional,
This is excellent. Truly excellent.
Can't wait for the rest of the videos from your visit, Z! Should have called this series "Welcome to Taunton" and done it in the style of Rob & Ryan though.
Great video and story. If you have kept tabs on Taunton, you will know that they will be part of an extraordinary National League South this season, with lots of clubs from the South West.
Lee Lucas is a blast from the past, I am from the same Welsh village as him
These vids are just the coolest, most heartwarming things. I really hope that the Peacocks and the Dorfers before them, get a boost in interest and support from their local area, following their gracious and baffling welcome of our favourite ball deodorant salesman ❤
Great video Z
Incredible. I live just to the north-east of Taunton, but also we should definitely sort a fundraiser out to improve the stadium, of course, since it looks just itty bitty.
have played weymouth to premier league before nice seaside town
Great vid zealand ❤
So great to see that cultural links and friendships formed through a video game. Kudos Zealand!
Absolutely sensational documentary
I love these vids
Thank you again for the photo that day! Was great to see you.
This isn't just great for the obvious reasons, it's also fascinating to FINALLY hear how actual football players feel about Football Manager and how they're used in it. I'm sure there are fun videos related to that out there, but this is the first time I'M hearing about any players reacting, and I find it hilarious.
Awesome transition to the football pitch
Zealand, I actually listened to the broadcast of the game, here in the US (via Mixr). I'm a huge fan of Weymouth - which I always play at least one save in every version of FM. Weymouth desperately needed a win against Taunton Town, and a win in their final game of the season, against Dover Athletic in order to avoid relegation. Needless to say, we won both games! Looks like you had a great time! Maybe I should start a KZread channel and a Twitch channel, with a Weymouth save... maybe I can get a similar invite😁
this is so cool!
So Awesome! :)
Doesn't even need to be soccer, but man I'd love that type of deep-rooted, "every town has a team" culture for a sport here in the States. Closest we get to it is minor league sports, college, or peewee.
Zealand is honestly an incredible content creator.
