I Visited Every Corner Of Florida. This Is What I Saw.

This is Florida?? Who would have thought that Florida has so many different types of regions??
In May of 2022, I spent 17 days driving throughout the state of Florida. I wanted to see every type of place - the rural panhandle, famous beaches, urban sprawl, poverty and wealth. I met a lot of interesting people and saw things here that I didn’t expect. I like Florida, but I was also here in early May, which meant less crowds and cooler temperatures.
Florida is changing a lot. A lot of the people I talked to complained about the cost of living, the rise in crime, the crowds and all the new housing developments. There’s a lot to love about Florida, and there’s a lot to dislike, too. We’ll see both sides of the state.
Right now, I’m going to show you unedited glimpses of the Sunshine State. We’ll cover a little bit of every piece of Florida that I saw. I hope you enjoy it.

I love that there was no video of Disney World, Universal Studios, etc. These are the places so many visitors focus on and they miss out on the many cool places like Cedar Key. I’m a native Floridian and I’ve seen almost every square mile of the state. It’s got so many wild contrasts and something for everyone. And, yes, it has hills. And mosquitoes.

That's really no secret to long time Floridians. Can call it out in the boondocks or whatever else, but it's a type of Old Florida that's increasing, not disappearing, and it's not charming like anything vintage Old Florida. On the other hand nobody wants to buy it all and change it ALL. Because of what kind of climates, including subtropical and tropical in Florida, nature fights harder to take it all back,

Most folks probably don't realize how utterly _flat_ the whole state is, and aside from some hi-rise condos, I think the _highest_ point has gotta be the occasional freeway overpass in Gainesville. But you really covered a lotta ground... and a lotta 'cultural' variety too, well done!

FL definitely is beautiful and it's definitely the best state if it was more affordable but that's practically what's driving away the real Floridians. We can't afford NYC and LA prices for apartments in areas that were a modern ghetto 5-10 years ago. Like seriously Zephyrhills has some houses going like half a million and the town is nicknamed methorpills and is 90% bckroads trailerpark

I’ve been tripping down to Florida since the 1950’s. There’s many great places you missed on both coasts. Personally, in the past 25 years I’ve preferred the redneck riviera from Pensacola to Panama City Beach. People are the friendliest and real down to earth in that part of Fla. and it’s irresistible driving down through the Keys on A1A. You should make a video in the Everglades too.

As a second gen Floridian it’s best described as a state of pockets. Pockets of wealth, one block down is a crack den, next block is a major shopping area! Busy melting pot cities with so much to do, and run down places you’ve never heard of. I always loved traveling to Sebring as a kid, so quiet, so safe, I remember one day a dog and chicken walked me home and an old lady offered me pie. It was always a nice break from the busy city life I was from!

I wouldn't trade Florida for any other area/state (except for maybe Tennessee 😊). I've been here since 1976 because at the time, my husband and I were tired of making the car trip down to Florida to visit relatives and spend days at Disney every year. Pity you didn't get to see Fort Myers Beach or Lovers Key State Park. I grew up there for 20+ years, unfortunately it was completely devastated by Hurricane Ian. The gulf coast is beautiful. Next time you go I recommend these: Venice Beach Sanibel Island ( If it recovers from Ian ) Captiva ( If it recovers from Ian ) I'm glad you got to see Turtle Beach down by Siesta Key; same gorgeous water, just a different type of sand. Central Florida is full of rural farm towns and tons of orange groves. You can get lost out there driving - in a good way though. I no longer live in Florida but I miss it every day.

I am a Georgia boy but attended college in Tallahassee at Florida A&M, therefore I consider Florida my second home and is a special to me because that where I became an adult and my alma mater is near and dear to my heart.

Great rainbow shot in Daytona Beach. I have a soft spot for Daytona Beach and St. Augustine as well. Florida is cool but only for a limited time- I think I would go crazy out there if I was to make it a home all year.

Nice video, I have only been to Panama City once, however I visited the Atlantic Coast over 1000 times literally. If you make it to Florida again, check out the beaches (the ones where the waves break :) ) from West Palm to around Ft Pierce to the north. Hutchinson Island is really awesome.

Next time Nick, hit me up. The best beaches are the one you can get to only by boat. I go out Clearwater Pass and head north or south. There's plenty of islands out there with no one on them during week days. Beautiful beaches and sunsets.

That view at dockside watching the fishers at the pier and the water in general is my my favorite view in Florida. The people are so sweet there too. Did you see any dolohins? The birds are cool too.

Nick, I grew up north of Cedar Key in the Big Bend in Perry and the Taylor County beaches. Next time your in Florida check them out. The beaches aren't great, but you get some great sunsets. Maybe you can do a video. Keep up the great work.

Nick! Try to get in SW Florida next time. I know we have to recover down here from Hurricane Ian, but it’s still worth a visit to Naples, Cape Coral, Bonita Beach, Marco Island, and Punta Gorda. Thanks. 👍🏻

Florida panhandle resident here, good to see my wacky corner of the state being represented. Also, you should check out Mexico Beach. It's a little town that got nearly wiped off the map after Hurricane Michael in 2018 but it's coming back real nice.

2:45 Daytona Beach 🏖️ the greatest imo however it doesn't matter the town as long as you're on a barrier island
