    When it comes to dialing in gate pedals like the Boss NS-2 (which everyone seems to love for some reason), I'm basically a bass player. This one doesn't seem to have that many controls needed for dialing in the noise gate itself, and it seems pretty good overall, so I might check it out.

  • @JoeBaermann

    @JoeBaermann

    2 жыл бұрын

    The NS-2 is not a gate either, it is better suited for when you want a note to ring out and not cut the sound asap, take the note around 8:56 as example, some might prefer it to go into feedback there. A lead guitarist that plays modern metal would probably want both flavors, NS-2 as always on and Pylon engaged when one needs a lightning fast gate. And if you're a hard on rock'n'roll/metal rebel, gates and suppressors are for pussies anyway.

    nice looking guitar there, what model and brand is it? ... and is that an evertune bridge? or some other style fixed bridge? oh its an ESP is it? hehe must be kindda expensive then i guess. ah... looked it up 'h1001' and found was cheaper than espected on thomman. and surprisingly with low added premium for evertune only a little extra. must be cncd in asia these days i guess then esp branded over the oem to esp's specs and QA? i am guessing here due to the relative pricing to other brands at similar level. but what do wonder about is how much friction on the paiinted clear coat finish on the back of the neck? when zoomin up or down the fretboard quickly. it doesnt stick in the hands compared to a natural wood finish back there? well nevermind i guess. probably been reviewed elsewhere, to answer such questions. but i admire the taste and those specific design decisions

    Is "Pylon" taken from the Warhammer 40k Pylons? Coz pylons sort of work like a gate *nerd*

    Real question is: Will it make any noticeable difference in the mix (rhythm chugs, shredding & solos) ? 1. I can see it being somewhat useful in Swedish death metal since they max gain out on everything. 2. Perhaps shredders & solo players would find it handy too where it's mostly guitar playing with delay & reverb. 3. If you're like me and love dry chugs and raw guitar sound (guitar only, no other instruments beside metronome). I can't imagine any other scenarios why you would need so much clarity for such a price. I use a ns-2 into my tube amp (4 cable method) and free GGate by GVST if I'm using sims. The free plugin simply beats everything.

    I need your chops more than the pedal. Nice pedal, though.

    Hey, if you aren't gonna bring back the Cock Blocker pedal, bring back the Turd Polisher T-shirts, at least! I hadn't heard of your channel yet when you sold those last year, and anyway, they ought to be a part of your regular collection. That's. Hilarious.
