***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out new videos every week! We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

Kevin....I have had psoriatic arthritis for 33 years. I understand the pain and suffering. It is discouraging and debilitating. The combination of psoriatic arthritis and the tick bite is very painful. We will pray for you. Father our brother Kevin is your child who has been an example of your kingdom. He has been a faithful servant sharing his life and live for you with others. He is in pain and full of sickness. We ask for your complete healing, relief of pain, and a renewal of his immunity. We believe you will heal him completely. In the name above all names Jesus we pray Amen.

I will pray for you. My husband just died from a sudden heart attack. No Covid shots. We had just bought a hobby farm in Iowa a year ago raising chickens, goats, horses and growing food. Trying to be as off-grid as possible while remodeling a 100 year old farmhouse. My husband was so happy and loved every project we did together. This has rocked my world. I cannot do the farm alone. I am 64 years old. I have no family or friends nearby to help. It’s just too easy to get hurt and there would be nobody to come to my aid. I have lost everything in just one month. My husband, my farm, my animals, even my dogs and cats. My kids want me to live near them in Florida. Unfortunately because they rent a home, they cannot have any pets. My heart has been broken over and over BUT the Lord has given me such strength to get through this. My husband has run his race, I have to continue mine without him. Prayers appreciated.

@@Gitchagoat Thank you. Such a strange twist in my life. About 2 months after I got to Florida to live with my daughter, I started getting stomach pains. I thought it was an ulcer from the stress. Ended up going to the ER and they diagnosed me with stage 4 terminal cancer. The doctors gave me 2-6 months to live. I am not sad and the Lord has given me such a peace. I am happy and I see why the Lord took my husband first. He would have had a much harder time with me going first. I have decided not to do any treatments. What life I have left I just to prepare for heaven and enjoy my grandchildren. Thank you for your kind words.❤️

I had Borreliosis, the TX version of Lyme disease. I am well today praise GOD! Dr Crist is the best and he's in your state. I would highly recommend going to him. I don't know that 2 weeks of treatment is enough. GOD bless you and Sarah and grant you wisdom as you deal with this.

When I was a child in grade school in Idaho, I remember a young male classmate walking up to our teacher to say he was not feeling well. Then he passed out and collapsed on the floor. Turns out that he had been bit by a tick. He was out of school for more than a week with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Mean stuff. God bless you both.

Also Alpha-Gal! Another KZreadr who lives in Missouri is just building his homestead had a tick bite that left him with Alpha-Gal. My neighbor got it as well. One of the issues is that the infected person is not able to eat any red or mammalian meat without becoming very sick. Lone Star ticks are believed to be the primary source. Praying you are improving and healing.

Dangerous swelling neck. face and tongue. Sometimes hives. Several times a week. Found my symptoms and their cause on the internet around 2015. Thank the powers that be for the MD who "solved the mystery" for me and so many others. Ticks are the worst.

I am in Nebraska about 30 minutes from Missouri. My dog had this 2 years ago. The fever was so bad it almost killed her. It caused one leg to become weak and the muscle started to deteriorate. That leg would move on its own when she stood. Kind of a tick where the leg would just go back and forth very slow. They tested her for every thing under the sun but couldnt figure out what it was. The vet contacted an emergency vet in Kansas so they knew of us just in case we needed to rush her there if the fever got worse. She did recover thankfully. Her leg has just started to get better however will never be the same again. Hope you get better soon.

You have to weigh out the cons with those guineas, as well as the pros. In my experience with them, the cons outweigh the pros, so I will never have them again. A lot of folks agree with me on that, but each and everyone must come to their own conclusions. The #1 con for me was the noise they make... you think a peacock is loud?

I have an autoimmune Illness,(PMR) I thought I was having a flareup, so I went to my rheumatologist, and all my blood was fine. This morning, not only did my mother send me your video, because I was telling her my symptoms, I watched it. I was able to get into my local clinic, and my d Dr. has me on the same medication you got put on! I’m a neighbor of yours in Webster County, I’ve ran into you two a couple of times, and visited a bit. What's really sneaky is some of those tick diseases can be spread by the larval ticks, which are tiny tiny and very hard to see or recognize. So people can have horrible symptoms and have no clue they were bitten by a nearly invisible form of tick.

As homesteaders ourselves, we also went for the longest time thinking nothing of it when we pulled ticks off ourselves. Two years ago my husband and I both were diagnosed with Alpha Gal Syndrome from tick bites. It made us allergic to all mammal meats and mammal by-products. It turned out lives upside down- I was milking dairy goats every day, we had a large number of meat rabbits, and we were raising several lambs up to put in the freezer for the first time. I sold ALL of our mammal livestock animals. It SUCKED. but we have expanded our poultry to include ducks, Muscovy ducks, quail and geese (we already had chickens and turkeys). But on the bright side, I've learned so many new recipes and ways to cook poultry and fish that it actually expanded our diet to more flavor profiles and we eat a lot healthier (no junk off grocery store shelves because so many of them include some kind of mammal by-products like dairy, gelatin, magnesium stearate, etc). But the transition is HARD for anyone.

My husband and I were both diagnosed with Alpha Gal Syndrome a couple years ago. My main symptom was severe GI pain (with other side effects including extreme fatigue, brain fog, constant diarrhea, and several unexplained bouts of hives), but after my diagnosis and a lot of research, I learned that it can cause any inflammation in the body to become much worse- like arthritis in joints. My husband had severe joint pain that had gotten so bad he couldn't lift a glass of water off the table in front of him. His doctor had referred him to a specialist to get surgery on his shoulder, until I had him go back to his regular doctor and get the blood test for Alpha Gal. Sure as the sun is in the sky, he was positive. Once he completely changed his diet with me, his joint pain went back to a manageable level and he can fully function WITHOUT surgery! My Gyno wanted me to have surgery for pelvic congestion syndrome- but after changing my diet and avoiding all mammal meats, dairy and other by-products, I was able to cancel my next appointment with the vein specialist. I may still have pelvic congestion syndrome, but the symptoms of it have dang near gone away completely. Oh, and my anxiety level has dropped tremendously, because I'm no longer constantly wondering when I'm going to have a bout of pain that would make any normal person rush to the ER. AGS is a life changer, but at the same time, we are both eating much healthier and feeling better than we have in a long time!

@@kcfamilyfarm939 I was tested for Alpha Gal, which I had never heard of until the allergist tested me for every thing. Since moving, 12 years ago to Oklahoma, I have all kinds of allergies. After testing, I've found out I'm extremely allergic to penicillian, egg whites, steroids (found out after taking steroids), shell fish, all kinds of outdoor stuff (here where I live) which in turn affects my sinus' severely. On top of dairy and sulfate allergies I carry epi pens with me at all times. I'm taking 5 different meds for my sinus'. Got the Alpha Gal results back, they were negative. Since we live in the country, on 20 acres, and have tons of wildlife. I need to spray myself with natural oils or deet (a prevenrative) for ticks. When working outside, or feeding the animals, I check my clothing before going in the house. I also take my clothes off, do a mirror check, and have my husband check me for ticks, and take a hot shower. So far with spraying myself with geranium oil (mixed with water) the ticks have left me alone. I'm sorry to hear you, and your husband have Alpha Gal. I'm happy you're addressing the issue, and have changed your diet which has helped. Inflammation is a hard thing to deal with when dealing with injuries and pain. You're right about changing your diet. By doing this it can resolve many issues. Good luck, and thank you for responding to me.

We live in Kansas city but my daughter got the bull's eye rash from a tick bite when she went to summer camp. This was in 2002, the pediatrician did not want to prescribe antibiotics because he insisted the ticks in Missouri don't carry erlichiosis. I insisted that he prescribe it, and he finally did. I am glad I stood my grounds. I later learned that tick disease has no boundaries, deers move across state lines therefor it is best to be aware of ticks and the possible risks.

I understand the pain it's like every cell is swollen to capacity and aches with a bruised tenderness til it decides to stop. I just remind myself this is only temporary and thank the Lord that I am never alone. You take your rest because that is rejuvenating to the body. Ticks and skeeters won't bite thru oil or vaseline I seal my skin with suntan oil or vaseline and even put oil on scalp when I'm outside so far good results and no cracking of skin is always good.🌼
