Thanks Jenny, yes August was amazing on the Thames wasn't it? I'll be uploading the final Thames episode in the next couple of days. Currently we're on the Llangollen and I'm sure I've seen nb Life of Riley in the last few days.

Kudos to Val for graciously enjoying Andrew's 'reverie' for narrowboating AND his sometimes 'mansplaining' (tips and facts) about your narrowboat adventures. Thank you, Andrew, for producing truly visually well-done vlogs...!

Thanks Dan. Yeah we're back in the midlands now and enjoying the tranquility of the canals and the slow change in the surrounding colours - and of course having the stove lit.

Beautiful filmed cruise. I was very surprised to learn that the ‘Grotto ‘ owned both banks of the river. Most properties own their own bank only.

Thank you Lionel and Mary, glad you enjoyed it. I'm not sure if the Grotto own both sides of the river, perhaps that's something you've found in your research.

So nice to have a new video.. growing up whenever I read anything that mentioned the Themes it was always about through London and always made it sound rather dirty and ugly. The first time I saw a Narrowboat on the upper part of the river I was embarrassed to find it so beautiful. I’m playing guitar now. Little finger is still too weak to be useful but I feel confident it will come back. Have to support my left elbow to play. Arm not strong enough to support the guitar neck. The back injuries making sleep spotty. I am getting better. Glad there are both of you sharing the river.

Hi Skip, glad to hear you're on the mend albeit slowly. It must be a relief to be able to play music again, and having that as a goal will no doubt aid and speed your recovery. I totally agree about the Thames, it was a total surprise to me too. It becomes more beautiful the further upstream you go, so I'm really looking forward to sharing the next 2 episodes. In fact it was so special that we're planning on going back next summer for a longer stay.

Love the videos, I am coming off the grand Union onto the Thames next weekend, with my narrow boat, never done a river before so looking forward too it. Keep up the good work. 👍

Thanks Louis. I hope you enjoy the Thames as much as we did. The upper reaches are especially wonderful if you can make it up that far. A good tip (not mentioned in the video) is always moor with the bow pointing upstream. If you moor with the strength against the current you can get debris lodged in the prop.

💖💖Loving the twinkle in your eye! Val seems very confident and adept on the boat - had she done any boating before joining you?(Just call me Nosey Parker👃)

Not nosey at all Tania, and thank you. No Val had never done any boating before but had previously lived in a motorhome so was used to 'minimal living' and travelling. Yes her confidence has grown enormously, and she's now extremely capable at all things boaty.
