@@raskarl it’s one of the most common questions, but the majority of YT reviewers don’t address it at all. That’s why this reviewer gets my thumbs up. They’re mostly casuals, they just pump out thin reviews based on the press release, call it a day and count the clicks. What’s the point then? I can read the same press release and call it a day too. They clearly don’t spend much time with the actual device to properly get a sense of the user experience.

I appreciate how thorough this video is, and the added comparison to the Kishi. Your camera doesn’t look 4k, but I think it’s mostly focus and lighting. The camera seems to be hunting for the correct focus. Try setting it manually for the best results. Thanks again for the video.

Great video!! Ive been using mine for about a year and the recording button stayed pushed in and now the control sucks lol.. But that might be from me using it so much and my kids getting a hold of it from time to time. Im going to buy another one, honestly the backbone is great. I had the same dislike with the phone cases but thats not a big issue for me. ALSO, the main bad thing about it customer support doesnt offer very great support. I tried reaching out when my remote went bad and they werent much help. But i do love the product. Good stuff man keep it up!!

my main concern is backone one's "backbone" (the "slider" as you called it). it looks like it's perfectly designed to snap in half if your not especially careful. i think i would feel a bit more comfortable with this bit of plastic being a bit thicker to ensure integrity but the concept is interesting at least.

I am getting backbone mainly because Xbox controllers don’t always have the best Bluetooth connection as I’ve tried it on my phone and PC, so I grabbed a back bone as I’m interested in the option

I liked it for about 2 weeks but now it's been sitting on the shelf and I low key regret buying it at 100 bucks. It's a good product but I just don't do a lot of mobile gaming. Still it's great for on the go when I don't want to bring my Switch case and all the extras.

Will this fit on a phone case that is very thin, or does it have to be case less when putting on the controllers?

Great review. I had many more gripes with it though. It really shines when you're not using the remote play on Xbox or PlayStation. Personally, I've had a completely unplayable experience on the Xbox remote play. Half the time spent was just reconnecting. It was very laggy and delayed. I have an xbox elite series 2 controller so it has Bluetooth (like many of the Xbox controllers). I can connect this to my phone and play games like cod mobile easily. The build quality feels pretty good, not as tremendous as this guy makes it out to be but i was pleasantly surprised as well. It still doesnt compare to any xbox or playstation controller. It is small like the switch contollers and makes for a more rigid experience. Since i can just use any controller for mobile games and the shadowplay is unplayable, it is not the product for me. If you are very on the go and would like a portable mobile gaming controller, this is a good option but still quite pricy for a little plastic plug in controller.

The app is for all the games. It lets you pick through them and I literally ordered mine and got it a week later. No wait in a que or nothing a f definitely didn’t need to down load the app before ordering it.

I have a pro max phone, and I wanted to know if the backbone touches one of the cameras? Or is there a small gap not having it to touch the lenses?

Nano great review, I do have one question tho… I would like to remote play from my Xbox, usually I use my Xbox controller for my phone but the joystick used to move the camera/FOV In TPS & FPS games tends to have like a half second to one second delay. Would the backbone solve that little bit of latency for moving the camera around? So would I be able to remote play battlefront or fortnight from my Xbox to my phone and use this controller for no delay in the controls? PS. That little delay I was talking about, I’m not sure if it has to do with the Xbox controller using Bluetooth.

HI! Do you know if I can use the backbone with standard Apple Arcade games that support a controllers Not just Xbox game pass stuff?

Isn’t there a subscription to the app? Was wondering if the subscription is only required for the app and if you don’t subscribe then can you just use the controller without the app?

Ordered my backbone the other day. I'm a playstation person, but the black I like so, have to sacrifice having the playstation buttons. Looking forward to using it. But I don't have a playstation yet, so eventually I can play playstation games from the phone.

If you connect a PS4 controller to iPhone while playing codm it causes a slight delay before acting on the action and is not 100% accurate. Is it the same with this or is it better in that sense?

I don’t have the backbone but I did have a rotor riot which connected directly to the phone and there was no delay at all. With the backbone being a direct connection I imagine there would be no delay as well.

I've watched several of these reviews and still wonder why nobody mentions one of the most deciding factors which would have actually prevented me from purchasing one....the $49.99 annual subscription you are TRICKED into signing up for once you actually excitingly receive the device! If it wasn't such an AWESOME controller, I would probably send it back! I'll just wait for the free trial to end and THEN send it back!

@@kaden007 I believe it’s the app itself which as most of these videos allude to is one of the selling points of the device. As soon as I connected it to my iPhone, I could not even use it before going through a registration process which essentially forced me to sign up for this fee. It comes with one free year which I don’t plan on paying after that so I guess I’ll see after that year expires if I’m still able to use it! LOL

@@kaden007 I’ve had it for about two weeks now and from what I can tell so far there is no way to add any of the streaming gaming services to the app like you can with individual games which is slightly disappointing to me. With that being said I would say the answer to your question is “yes” since you have to exit the app anyway to connect to the streaming services. Overall I REALLY love the Backbone which has renewed my interest in mobile gaming but only time will tell if I have to continue paying for the app!
