A spiritual successor to our album Zelda & Chill, Synthwave artist Helynt created a progressive and nostalgic tribute to gaming's biggest icon. Licensed compositions courtesy of Nintendo.
Inspired by the era when Mario first hit the scene, Mario & Chill was produced with synthesizers, guitars, and retro drum machines all akin to the era. Created by Helynt, a synth and retrowave artist from Italy, Mario & Chill is a progressive trip through video game music history.
Games featured include Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario & Luigi, Mario Galaxy, and Mario Odyssey. Composers include Koji Kondo, Kenta Negata, Satomi Terui, Naoto Kubo, Mahito Yokata, and Yoko Shimomura.

i know the acrylic tubes holding the characters up in the epoxy was supposed to be invisible, but it honestly gives it more detail to me. looking at it i couldn’t help but see them as sort of like “mechanical umbilical cords” that are feeding the clones the nutrients they need to grow. not the desired effect, but i think it turned out to be the right one. i wonder what it would look like if there was a way to drill up through them and somehow dye them green or something along those lines.

I appreciate just how much of this process you show in these videos. Seeing all these disparate materials come together in this wholly different looking, imaginative display is always a joy. I know you said that planning isn’t really your thing, but I just gotta ask: are there any drafts for visual concepts you do, or are all the little details on-the-spot improvisations based on what you feel fits best? As for the scientist toads, I agree that they’re adorable. I think they’d be cool in a lab that creates power ups. A Ghostbusters-style scenario where they’re studying a ghost house or a flock of boos could also be fun.

This was awesome to watch and the ending shots were so satisfying. Took me a second to figure out why each 'clone' looked different from the one next to it. I haven't actually seen some one do an asymmetrical item in an infinity mirror before. At first glance it looks like all the clones are in slightly different positions which makes it look some much more interesting! As for the toads I was going to suggest having them, with a lead scientist Princess Peach, making Bowser in a lab as a kind of origin story. Who doesn't like a 'creation turned on its creator' story. But then I saw a comment about a Jurassic park yoshi diorama and I like that idea too... as long as Peach is still apart of it.
