Interesting. My own thought is to just hook it into my normal PC (which I also stream from) and take the load of running the games off the PC itself. Just play it in the window from the capture card (I have that 4k internal Avermedia one - the old one sadly not the newest one yet). I'm thinking this could help run the games on a bit higher settings w/out losing on the stream encoding end of things. Being I usually use NVENC to encode I think it will work. That said doing it just straight off the Steam Deck itself is awesome. It would legit be great for some co-op streams from the couch with buddies which is admittedly far more awkward to do in front of a desk haha. Great video thanks!

This is exactly what I've been looking for. I technically "knew" this would work, but there's very few videos about it, and it's hard to get this point across on a blog or with a few pictures. Thanks for the great video! Been thinking about getting a Steam Deck as my main rig soon due to family growth/limited space these days!

It’s such a great device! People complain about battery life, but if you limit fps to 30 and TDP while on battery, it’s no issue. I played Elden Ring for 3 hours on it

You only need a capture card to capture console gaming. If you're not using a console then you can just capture the gameplay with OBS like PC

I know this is from 3 months ago now but, do you think it could do all of this at 900P as well have a 3D vtuber model running for the stream? I was originally looking into a mini PC to become a streaming PC but was never sure if it could handle a capture card and a 3D model running at the same time. If the Steam Deck can pull that off then I would know if a mini PC would do the job. That said I do have a Steam Deck so I may test it out myself.

Believe me or not 6 month ago I need a video like this but it doesn’t exist. So buy my self steam deck and Elgato HD 60X and find out that tit perfectly works. Good job. Now there is no need for me to make a video about this)

Could you use the steamdeck as a dedicated streaming pc? Not sure if im wording this correctly, i mean, you have your PC, you capture your pc with the steamdeck and the SD broadcasts into the streaming platforms, basically using the steamdeck to capture your PC + Camera for example

100% Can. Just replace the idea of the xbox in this video with your main PC. Just because it doesn't look like a computer doesn't mean it can't do it!

Um, yeah that’s out of left field lol. As a non smoker, I’ve never considered if this is an issue. I’d make sure to look at the platforms ToS about their tobacco policies

@@DarkenedCyrus thanks! Yea sorry I know it’s a bit of an odd question. From what I saw there isn’t any TOS issues, I’m just worried people will see it and immediately just tune out, because well I mean I smoke I know it’s kinda gross so if I didn’t smoke I could see someone doing that

So I purchased the HDS 60+ specifically because it would plug and play on my Mac. Without drivers etc. (Unix system). Would this work as the capture card? I’d like to stream my switch thru it as well as the steam deck games itself.

HDS 60+ shows: • It has UVC support, similar to Elgato Cam Link 4K. That means you can use OBS with it in macOS.

Hi my friend I’m trying to stream my windows PC to a monitor in another room. I think it’s possible with the steam deck. Basically I want to connect a mouse and keyboard to deck using the dock. And use my PC wirelessly to another monitor so I can do Corel draw and photoshop etc… Any ideas or help?

Windows supports wireless display as long as the TV is equipped. For example, my Roku TV will let me cast my PC to it, granted it has a slight delay.

It's a TV, but can be anything really. I used a TV just because I could make it larger for the video, and to prove that you don't need a monitor. Use what you have!
