I turn a huge stainless steel nut into a beautiful lighter
This project was very challenging and pushed my small machines, especially the mini lathe, near or even a bit beyond their limits. I tried to turn a huge M42 stainless steel nut into a beautiful lighter, but it was much harder than expected and took many days of hard work for the lathe.
Weights:
Raw Nut: 563g
Lighter 167g
Cap 24g
So I got approximately 400g of stainless steel chips from the nut and the lighter weighs less than most modern smart phones. ;)

На таких небольших скоростях - подачу надо поменьше делать - слишком грубая обработка получается, да и шанс запороть резец, особенно отрезной - выше.

Спасибо за совет! На видео немного обманчиво из-за таймлапса, подача была 0,09мм на оборот.
Чиркаш очень удобно терять, продумайте.

What are these copper pieces called that cover the jaws to keep the micro pieces?

Горелка крепится к фитильному винту, поэтому ее можно открутить целиком, а затем снова заправить.

Thank you! It works fine, the liquid is inside the cotton wool, nothing on the bottom.
Gotta be a pain to light if you gotta find that little flint wheel to light it.

@@randomtechnician когда нарезают резьбу сначала проходят метчиком или плашкой первым номером, а потом уже вторым. Даже на них помимо размера и шага резьбы есть маркировка номера метчика или плашки.
