This is a great video. I have not seen many ''content creation oriented'' videos on ZZ, and this one did not disappoint at all. You also seem very informed on the different ways to do ZZ and have not defaulted to EOline simply because it was the original way to do the first step. It really feels like you put research into it, and it shows when you explained it to the viewers (and also the description has up to date info on ZZ, which is awesome!!!!). I main ZZ and I would not be ashamed to share this video with other people to show how it's like to solve with the method. Keep making videos, this one was awesome!!!!!!!

I am SUPER thankful for this video, AND for the fact you did EO cross. I am an EO line solver, but that's only because I enjoy it more, not because it's better. Most cubers don't know about EO cross and they just look at EO line and say "This sucks!"
Great video! Watching your 1 month with roux video inspired me to start practicing with roux for a while, and I got a pb of 20.66! I average about 13.5 with CFOP so I probably won’t be sub 15 for a while, but I’m gonna learn ZZ and start practicing it! I believe that the more methods you learn, even if you don’t switch to them full time, can greatly improve your knowledge of the cube, and block building especially. Also, the editing and every other part of this video was great! I enjoyed this video more than 95% of top cubing KZreadrs videos! Keep up the grind and I’m sure that you’ll blow up!

Cool vid, it's great to see that you achieved quick success with the method! I would've liked to hear a little bit more discussion of your experience with the method, cause it felt like after the intro it was mostly just footage of solves and talking about the times. Stuff like, what did you like/not like about the method? How did EOCross feel like after a month of practicing it? Would love to hear that perspective at the end

When it comes to switching methods, no method is worth switching to unless you find that method fun. I believe that people can get fast with most of the methods out rn. So if you enjoy Hawaiian Kociemba (cross -1), go ahead and try using it for a bit! If you try it, let me know how it goes!

I’m a ZZ solver In beginner ZZ, you would solve EO, and then Cross as 2 seperate steps. What EOCross is is where you essentially mould your EO solution to force a better cross. For example, when you solve edges with an F move, you might chose to do an F’ instead of an F in order to align 2 cross edges opposite. With no influencing EOCross averages like 12 moves, but with it, it can be like 8 moves, which is a lot more efficient, and more importantly, makes planning first pair slightly less of a nightmare.

Wavetable by Patricia Taxxon Summoning Salt uses it in some of his videos, so you might know it from there if you have watched his videos.
Next try APB, it is a new petrus mod that has a lot of potential. The only video on KZread explains it well. Search up “The best method you hav never heard of/APB” and see if you like it. If you’re scared of the alg count don’t worry, they are short and easy to learn and ZBLL is optional.
@CubingWithAlex
11 ай бұрын
Yea I really want to try that method. APB or Mehta will probably be the next method I learn.
@ensmatter1660
11 ай бұрын
@@CubingWithAlex Both are quite similar in that they solve a 2x2x3 block with blockbuilding then finish with multiple alg sets. However I think the APB algs are more beginner friendly and you might need more than a month to learn a good amount of algs for Mehta.
@CubingWithAlex

ZZ is a lot more fun than CFOP cus no rotations but I will still use CFOP in competitions
videos about learning new skills are much better than cube unboxings, which are boring
I do zz ct, I do it because I have bad wrists. The fewer rotations, the easier it is on my wrists. I'm sub 7 with a PR that is sub 6, I think it's reasonable to get to world record with it.

Welcome to the right side (;
maybe I should do cfop for a month
One of the benefits of doing ZZ is that you can reduce your movecount by block building after EO line. Ie pairing a cross piece with a corner and an edge at the same time. For a CFOP solver this technique requires a lot of effort before it gets effective. It's like a CFOP user doing blocks in Roux by using F2L pairings, its faster in the beginning but much less effective and defeats the purpose.
@CubingWithAlex

EO Line is more efficient then EOCross, but it has worse ergonomics and lookahead. Also most zz users use EOcross nowadays. I believe EO line is still used a lot in OH though.
@Jonassvensson-uv9zd
10 ай бұрын
@@CubingWithAlex In my mind doing cross is just CFOP with an extra EO step, it's barely another method. But that's just me. Let's say you get a scramble with 12 oriented edges, then the ZZ and CFOP solution will look exactly the same.
@Luna77543

@@Jonassvensson-uv9zd 2-3 moves more efficient in exchange for far worse lookahead and ergonomic is definitely not a worthwhile sacrifice 😂
