Haha, that’s prolly why will and Jesse seem to have some unsettled beef with each other when you see a video of them training together😂, you can tell there’s some tension going on, mostly from will. But suppose you can’t fault will for that of course.
This video demonstrates one thing very well. That there isn't just a blueprint to "how to exercise to gain mass/strength/endurance" there are countless ways people tried over the years to improve in this sport, there isn't just one way and you need to find what works best for you. Don't follow blindly into someone else training regiment, I mean you can if it works for you but you don't have to. Great video as always.

well it's not that simple, you have to look at the SFR (stimulus to fatigue ratio) and find the best workouts for you by applying that, you can't just do what's inferior just because it's what you like doing and then expect to get the best results, you NEED to step out of your comfort zone and find the best workouts

I never said to follow shitty workouts, I said not to follow 1 thing without trying all the others and finding what works best for you.(by best I don't mean easiest, I mean the best way that gives you better health, strength, endurance or whatever you're after)@@anomaly3215

What I'm saying
idk if its just me but I can tell when jesse pushes himself to make a video about something he really likes, like bodybuilding
Mike Mentzer did 4 second negatives and 4 seconds eccentrics. With a static hold of 2 seconds in contracted position. It makes every exercise much harder. You should try it!

Yeah everybody don't do his training correct at all, his training defo works one of the best but you got to be on gear to recover from that especially if you doing that 3 days a week to complete failure
@GameZero2
2 ай бұрын
@@noisyneighbors1106I train 6 days a week, all sets to failure and beyond failure(low sets low reps), have no recovery issues and I’m progressing faster then I ever did before.
Idk why but you guys always make me inspired. Just looking at your guy's body I can tell you guys really work. I started a fitness journey at the age of 9. Now I'm 12 and I've got a lot of progress. Stay Relentless!
Love your content jesse, keep it up Bud
A few months ago at 13 I'd walk around sucking in my stomach, I was so conscious and never wanted to be shirtless. But through the help of the fitness community and people like David Goggins, i can now say I am in the best shape of my life, going to the gym and no longer sucking in.
Hey great commitment man! Great work! You’re such an inspiration!!!
This is such an entertaining and educational video! I’m learning a lot and appreciate how far fitness has come ❤️ and you made learning about the fitness eras fun, Jesse!
Love this style of video! You’re on top!
bro u didnt even hit close to the Mentzer level of failure, static holds, negative strength etc. is what he was famous for
Great content...loved the comparisons and to be honest i love them all each for different teasons
Actually met him in Toronto airport on the way to film this. Glad to see it out and keep up the work!
Jesse you are real inspiration to both men and women. U REALLY CAME A LONG WAY. KEEP IT UP 🫶🏼
This video is amazing because you can tell how into the history you are. Inspirational🔥
Such a informative episode! Thanks for this
Golden era was definetly the best. These days it's all about "anabolic windows" and "scientifically proven" stuff, but back then it was just about lifting weights and getting big

Great video!! You're one of the best fitness youtubers out there right now!!!
I love what do Jesse , keep up the great work 🔥❤️
FYI to get the right intensity for a mentzler workout you need to be well rested for days going into it, otherwise, your body will not allow you to push hard enough
Jesse im glad you mentioned Mike Mentzer becayse I do his training and it is insane...especially slow and steady with Heavy weights
Great video as always! I know it's not as shocking, but would be interested in learning about similar historic progression with natural bodybuilding and strength training.

I’m traing for hypertrophy and I’m doing a little like Mike mentz and tbh? I loveeee the style, one hour of the gym. Warm up, heavy weight and repping it out
This was a great watch! So fun and informative

By far my favourite all time video 👊🏽🙏🏾
huge respect for the amount effort youve put in into making this video jesse, keep it up and never back down ❤❤
Old-School physiques are the most aesthetic. No comparison with today's mass monsters. I always tell young guys that one of the best things you can do as a lifter interested in aesthetics / performance / strength is to study Old-School bodybuilding. Old-School bodybuilders were ingenious physique architects. They had a profound knowledge of the principles of proper nutrition, smart supplementation, exercise science, and muscle adaptability. If you combine Old-School bodybuilding wisdom with modern, evidence-based science, it's the best, safest, most effective way in achieving a strong, sexy, healthy, and aesthetic physique. "Vintage Physique" by George Kelly is a nice read on the topic.

Jessie getting pounded by all those big bois in Compton was so juicy. Love the content. Keep getting sweaty and hammered! Keep packing it in nice and hard! Love the content!
Great write as always Jessie, wish I could get a workout with you sometime!
These equipments are sick! They look so cool
I wonder how many deaths and injuries occurred during early days of bodybuilding with the primitive equipment. Great content too Jesse!
Love that you show Heavy Duty, Mentzer was a genius
love it always great ideas.
What a quality content …so much of work
4:08 when Jesse says this next excerise is a “chest exercise” yes with speech marks is just crazy and I do think the bodybuilder he mentioned was a great bodybuilder but yeah we really came a long way in terms of bodybuilding since that point so everyone’s necessary practices to reach their goals at the gym are easier
This video was amazing, i loved it
Pushing 30 and voice cracking is crazy
I've heard that the reason antagonistic supersets can feel easier is that normally antagonistic muscles resist each other a little (for example triceps resist a little during biceps curls), but since they're fatigued, they resist less than they normally would.
The vaude era is my favorite for the unique & challenging exercises.
Road to 5 million ❤ less go!!
Great content here Jesse !
One of the best episodes ive seen on the channel
I watch old videos of gym and gym equipment so I can get inspiration for what I can build for my home gym
Great show Look forward to the beach body era
Why you have never made a video on resistance BAND? i just started them and they are so amazing.
bench press was only popularized in the silver era, thats why you see such a big difference in chest size between the two eras
Great video bro!! But one thing you got wrong was Mike controlled the negatives… after not being able to go up he would have some one help him do more reps in the negative
I love doing Eugene Sandow's workouts! 💪
Try Mike mentzer pre workout
Este tipo de videos son geniales. These types of videos are great. More like this
Jesse or his editor really loves that dramatic sound effect!!
in some old gyms in morocco, i've trained in early 2010 in gyms having same dumbels and equipements
This was such an awesome video ! ❤
Honestly another reason im never taking PED is cuz of how fit and chill you are bro, Definitely always dropping fire content🔥📹

I respect the fact that he gave Mike Mentzer some recognition.
I actually snorted laughing when Jesse stubbed his toes 😅
The average legs look like Cutlers 09 quad stomp??? Love the videos that just made me laugh!!😂
The poses in 1913 were so beautiful though, seriously. I think this has to be my favorite era. Combining strength and bodybuilding.
5:38 Alex eubank made me remember is that boxing match of yours still happening? 😂
Spot on with our moms working out in the living room to a dvd vid lmao
Not even mentioning Markus Rühl in the mass monster era is a shame.
Awesome video!!
You and Will T post such similar videos y’all need to collab!🙌🏼
Great video Jesse!
1900 8packs are sick!
As Arnold said, the problem with Mentzer style high intensity training is that it's easy to burn out on it. The main difference between yesterday's bodybuilding and today's is that older era bodybuilders could only get much of their information from magazines or gym bros. Today, we have all kinds of resources, especially social media, videos, and so on. Now, we can learn all we want about proper form, supplements, and steroids. What may be harder today is getting high quality PEDs and navigating around the legal system.
16:18 we already know what preworkout you take much rather have heard what the champ takes
Dam this was a quality vid, subbed up
Golden Era for the win
Even though professional bodybuilding is all about comparison, i think Ronnie Coleman & Jay Cutler both did great. Not to mention others like Kevin Levrone (1999)... these are all legends of the sport.
