In this video I go over various methods in an effort to stimulate my vagus nerve in order to improve HRV as well as cognition and sleep. I make my own device and then do a Hoolest VeRelief review and daily test. My results were very compelling!
Free method to help improve HRV:
Coherent breathing:
5-6 second inhale followed by a 5-6 second exhale.
Do about 1-2 minutes preferably in a comfortable location.
Пікірлер: 176
NEW CHALLANGE: Please try polyphasic sleep. It's basically splitting your sleep into multiple ''blocks'' per day. That way you can sleep less while still getting enough so to say. I'm sure you can find out way more through research, and it'd be so interesting to see! I wanna try it, but idk if it's really that effective, if it works, what the side effects are, etc... Since your videos are so detailed and you actually try alot of stuff, i thought it would be the perfect challange for you.

You have the best video ideas! I love the biohacking vids! Keep up the good work! I ordered the Prime last week, just waiting for it now!
Lucas, been watching for a few years now. First comment I’ve ever dropped… gotta say your videos are such good vibes and literally decreases my own anxiety before bed man lol. My own nerve stimulation. Love your videos man keep it up 👍!!!!
Right on man! You are hilarious and very educational! Thank you for doing the research and being the guinea pig. Look forward to watching more of your videos!😘
I absolutely love ❤️ your videos brother. Keep up the great content.
Thank you again for great content, your good energy and personality have been a source of motivation for a lot of things, very entertaining stuff, looking forward to next Saturday's video
Fantastic! I was about to go the diy route to help my sister who has gastroparesis, a disorder with the vagus nerve. I'm going to rethink that based on your video. Perfect timing!

I wouldn’t discount it quite so fast, for a few reasons - 1) he’s a reasonably healthy dude and a HRV in the 50s is considered reasonably good. Whereas people with inflammatory/fight/flight vagus issues etc tend to have a much lower HRV with a lot of room for improvement; 2) all the info I’ve seen for the diy route has recommended using one ear clip for the left tragus, and one electrode pad on the left shoulder. This allows the electrical impulse to cover a larger area than he was doing; 3) you can get nicer ear clips with padding etc that are more comfortable to wear. I’m going to get some of those, but in the meantime I’ve slightly modified mine by adding a slice of foam from an earplug to the non-electrode side, and added some electrode gel adhesive I peeled from an electrode pad to the electrode side. This has had the dual benefit of it feeling a bit more comfy, and also providing better contact and conductivity, so less sharpness.

@@magpiejoneski139 Where did you get your ear clips, if you don't mind my asking?
My understanding of any kind of nerve stimulation is that it’s a stressor that creates a gradual adaptation. Not too surprising that you would measure a negative impact directly after the stressor was applied.
God Bless you bro, thank you for the righteous an awesome content for the people! Keep up the great work and asking the best holistic health questions!

Here are some video suggestions for you: only plyometrics workouts exercises in cold environment vs hot environment intensily stretch after a workout (Ive heard it could boost muscle growth) contract and extend your muscles quickly. Its like plyometrics + flexing ( example: quickly extend and contract your arm, so your biceps and triceps)
I got the Mini version from the Hoolest, and it has been working well for as-needed stim on the go! I deep dove into HRV stimulation as a means to help manage some rheumatological conditions I have. I first heard about the importance of the vagus nerve function and vagal tone on Dr. Hauser's channel. He is a prolotherapy expert who believes correcting cervical instability, and the spinal curve is paramount to optimal vagus nerve functioning. Stimulators can help, but if you are compromising the nerve physically in any way, it won't help the nerve heal and work optimally long term. Use good posture, look up, and strengthen your stabilizing muscles, or get prolotherapy, if possible, in addition to these stimulating treatments!
I started doing a polyvagal ear massage which basically does the same thing as the ear clip device in this video. The ear massage is less than 15 minutes and you don't need any equipment besides able fingers. My rem and deep sleep improves by 40-60% the morning after I do them and my HRV is trending much higher on those days too. More importantly, I'm feeling the "zen" you're speaking of and it is AWESOME!!! I've only done it 6 nights but the results are substancial.

I know so many of you will laugh for my comment, I have been trying to find ways to decrease my crazy anxiety and get the vagus nerve stimulate. After watching this video, I bought a heavy duty vibrator and I am using it around the ear, neck and below the ear. I am also doing some breathing exercises, yoga and i am seeing a difference already.
Whoa. This is next level Pigmie. A HIGHER DOSE OF FOCUS
When stimulating the small branch of the ear, make sure to not do it too strong BECAUSE YOU WILL FRY THOSE LITTLE BRANCHES!! Permanent damage possible.. Main branch is better to stimulate in the neck..
Can find out more about frequencies on KZread usually linked to awakening and healing use earphones, much easier than holding a thing to your neck
You should do a follow up video, I’m interested in the benefits you’re getting digestion-wise. It could be very beneficial for a lot of people. Are you still experiencing those benefits?

Tinnitus is caused by damage to certain auditory nerves, combined with with over sensitivity of other nerves. The Vagus nerve has the effect of lowering stimulation levels, so I wouldn't think so.

Why did you use the "new" ear clips on the right ear? Isn't all of this supposed to be done on the left ear?
Can you try, living like primal ancestors for 7 days or even longer
So I guess this is a promo for the Verelief prime. Why the F does this thing cost 300 dollars? That's just criminal.

I have an implanted spinal cord stimulator for a neurological pain disorder called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). I don’t know if I can use those devices because of that. I may ask my pain management team about it though.

Edit - missed out on your code. So sad about that. The discount code doesn't work. Any chance of an update of this or help? @Pigmie

In order to stimulate the vagus nerve, one of the electrodes needs to be connected to the tragus. I think your montage was wrong. Unless another left ear montage exists that can stimulate the vagus nerve.
I wonder about sensory deprivation and HRV. Probably a one week experiment would be long enough. May be a little spendy.

As your data shows, this is yet another failed shortcut to improving HRV. Thanks for putting it to rest for us. If you are serious about improving your health and HRV, without the risks from experimental shocking devices, just do 3-4 hrs of zone 2 cardio per week over a month and you'll see the difference!

Zone 2 is 70-80% of max hr?
@radicaltyro
6 ай бұрын
@@SuperDonBest Zone 2 (as defined by experts like Inigo San Millan) is technically based on lactate, not HR. For some people (probably well trained individuals), the top of zone 2 may be in the range of 70-80% max HR, but for others, it could be say 65%. The relation to HR would also vary based on exercise modality (running vs cycling for example) and the environment (temperature has a big effect on HR). If you don't really know (via lactate testing), it's better to be conservative. I would recommend starting at 60-65% of max HR and evaluating.
