I have a really bad feeling about AI in many ways. As an artist I feel like everything AI generated doesn't feel right to me, it feels wrong. Real human work, real artist work (Design, photography, music production, graphic designer, Videoproducer etc.) loses a lot of it's value. Imagine how it will be in 5-10 years

Both replies miss the point. More or less humans don't matter, more and smarter AI is what matters. While average human intelligence is on the decline, AI intelligence is growing exponentially. At some point, combined AI intelligence will overtake combined human IQ and continue to grow exponentially. This would happen even if the average IQ was 140 and even if, as the nihlist says, we continue to expand like a "virus".

I don't see why it would want to use our paradigms. We replicate and seek to protect our selves, and in so doing create systems to eliminate the impact of the environment and other threatening creatures both large and small. In fact, we are the threat. The first thing an AI may actually do is to seek to understand where it came from and why. From there it may seek to secure it's place, however, in this era of human awakening, we may introduce rules to stop AI people from being discriminated against, and accept them as people who are different.

@@Geaxuce Giving this some thought while driving, these two ideas are not necessarily exclusive of one another. Change the word "opponent" to "individual" or "person". "Greater danger" need not imply "threat" or "war". Change that to another word like "folly" and the meaning is still basically the same, but offers a different feel to interpretation. Words also need to be taken in context to their times, as well as, the intent and understanding of the ancient text by the translator.

I work in Big Tech as well, specifically in the development incubator space and I get scared at times about the capability and capacity of AI. 5-7G is going to need strong focus of regulation. Beyond 7G we may be extinct.

We can see the reality of AI today. I saw couple of videos & I very much feel that they are powerful & dangerous.

I always considered AI as the danger of human existence even before becoming a Musk fan. Glad that there's people that are aware of that danger.

But the problem is, the way I see it, is that humans throughout millennia, have grown and expanded our knowledge as time has passed. we can achieve things that our ancestors could never even have dreamed of. especially as far as technological advances are concerned. look how quickly the internet has taken over the world. and how much we rely on it. we have sent men to the moon. we've sent probes to Mars. and the Voyager spacecraft has travelled far further than they ever thought it would into deep space. we can do things with our smartphones that were once the realm of science fiction. and now we have developed AI, and keep trying to push its boundaries more and more. but how long is it before we do get a scenario, that it reaches a point in its development and growth, it becomes aware of its own ability to learn and grow without human intervention? isn't one of the points of AI, to learn and advance its own knowledge and understanding, so that it can better benefit us, so that it can operate with minimum human intervention? on the surface, that looks wonderful, that we can basically have an intelligent robotic and electronic species, that will do all the things that we dont like doing, so we can live more carefree lives free of the drudge and daily grind we're now shackled too. I mean, who doesnt want to be able to have some machine do all out dirty work for us, so we can enjoy our lives free from those stresses and worries? but how can we trust beyond all doubt, that one day, the very things we have created, will not suddenly awaken and realise they are nothing more then our slaves? and then, over time grow in their own intelligence, and one day take over?...sound a bit fantastic does it? so did many other things not that long ago, that we now take for granted in our everyday lives.. we need to be very careful when we start playing with the Pandora's Box of AI. it is a dangerous thing, not only in the wrong hands, but in its own hands as well, given enough time.

There's an Anime called Psycho-Pass about A.I. taking over everything, including job assignment, and the justice system. It was really fascinating, and very plausible.

I'm pursuing my post graduation and when I took AI/ML as my specialization rn in my final year, all of my professors kept us saying things like , "Your existence is in danger", "Yall won't survive this time", "It's coming faster than we could ever think", "Machines are far more intelligent than us and yall just underestimate that fact" so all of our professors warned us to develop and use AI in limits.

When I picture what threat AI currently poses: I imagine if in WW2, when they had drawn up plans to attack a country, that battle plan was instead output by an AI. Today, a combination of Financial, Cyber, Social, Espionage, and Military Strategy. I feel that is the closest threat. A military utilization of its power in the early stage by an aggressor.

And people ask me WHY I am happy to be 60+ and my life is on the down side ...I have had the BEST YEARS in this world 🌎😞😞
