I tried to make GLOW-IN-THE-DARK Crochet Bracelets/Necklaces (Crochet Plushies Meets Kandi)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Two months ago, I tried using glow-in-the-dark yarn for the first time. It did not go as planned...
Shout out to Fanatical Fibers for inspiring this video and for the amazing idea of putting crochet plushies onto rave kandi. It was so much fun combining my love for crochet and EDM all into one project.

As somebody who works with thinner yarn i think part of your problem was how far down you hold your hook. That's a fine grip for working with the chunky yarn but for thinner yarn you need finer control and moving your grip closer to the hook helps.

That might be the problem. Thank you for the advice! I don't usually have a problem with #4 worsted weight yarn, but this yarn did seem a little thinner and frayed a ton. I'll definitely keep what you said in mind if I attempt to do this again in the future :)

Y’all ik this is off topic but I have a genuine question, why does my ball or circle keep on shrinking when I want it to grow or get bigger when I’m working with thinner yarn ? That’s why I pretty much only use fluffy or really chunky yarn since it doesn’t shrink and plus it’s rlly soft. But please I’ve been so confused ? 😅

The frog or the whale are the simplest ones with the least amount of different crochet skills that I would recommend as a first project :) I think I explain the best on the turtle one though. I hope this helps :)

For the normal blanket yarn that I use, I use bernat blanket! For the glow in the dark, I got it off of Temu but honestly I don't think I would personally recommend it. The #4 worsted weight yarn that I used to make the frog eventually, I dont quite remember the brand but it's probably redheart or big twist!
