I Tried the Dash Egg Cooker -- Is It Any Good?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I took the egg cooker on a recent trip and had warm eggs for breakfast with no muss, no fuss, and no stovetop! In this video I demonstrate hard boiled eggs, "poached" eggs, and an omelet, all were delicious!
This is NOT a sponsored video, I bought the egg cooker for personal use and decided I just had to review it. I don't know why I never knew about this, its been around for almost 100 years!

Love your plant videos but I've just moved into a retirement home and my plants had to go find other homes, but you are right about this cooker. Does perfect hard boiled and soft boiled eggs. Wonderful for my assisted living. This and a toaster and a mini fridge and I can have a good breakfast. Still in my jammies.

I have one, too!! And I love it! The boiled eggs are super easy to peel, even if you don't dip them in cold water. DASH also make a double decker one, too, but I've never used one of those. Six at a time is plenty for me!

Interesting gadget. I really enjoyed your sprouting experiment where you used darkness, ambient light and a grow light to grow 3 different jars of sprouts. Based on that, I’ve been growing broccoli sprouts under my small grow light and getting fantastic results, including tiny green leaves, in just a few days. Keep up the great content.

I was cooking some eggs this morning on my Dash egg steamer and the timer went off. I thought to myself, "where have I heard that tune before?" I thought for a while...and then it hit me! I remember listening to this song on the radio back in the 70s called "time has come" by the Chambers Brothers. It's the intro to their song "time has come", how appropriate!...

In your experience, how do hard boiled eggs peel using this? My current method which works excellent is to use a vegetable steamer basket in a large pot - I boil the water first and then drop the cold eggs into the hot steamer. I then steam with the lid on for 11 minutes and then immediately take the steamer basket out and plunge into ice cold water with the eggs. Put them in the fridge overnight and it's perfect eggs each time and extremely easy to peel. This seems interesting only because I go through so many hard boiled eggs and would rather one have little unit instead of extra dishes with the pot and steamer basket. Just curious if they peel ok or if any ever give you trouble. Thank you!

No, you have to push the button in to turn it off. The instructions say not to just unplug it, but press the button. Otherwise next time you plug it in it will be "on". Thanks for the question!
