UPDATE: I do plan on making an update video on how my skin is doing. I had surgery a few weeks ago and have been dealing with complications since. It could be a couple months until everything is sorted out. Thank you to everyone who has watched so far, I did not expect this to do so well lol. Hope to be back soon! ❤

@amandanicholle Hi, I think there was a difference between the before and after. I recently started using the Clinique Acne Solutions set. I am loving the results. I had never tried it before and I'm now 46, too bad. It has cleared up my skin quite a bit.( Not the scarring so I'm looking for something for that.) Ps I heard it's best not to touch your face. It spreads the germs and agravates the pimples. I hope you will try it. I bought some for my 15 year old son and it's clearing his face too.

I disagree simply because the people you’re referring to also have skin concerns just in a different degree, skincare is not one size fits all. I really hope you find what works for you though. 🫶🏾
I can definitely see a difference in your skin from day one to day thirty. It’s a noticeable change. Keep going! :)
girl i hope you keep using it because your skin looks so so so so much better and in only four weeks!!! That’s such a short amount of time in skincare world!
Honestly, curology & retinol are the only products that have worked for my 10+ years deep dark spots! It takes TIME but be consistent! A gentle cleanser, retinol, vitamin C, gentle moisturizer & SUNSCREEN. Is literally all you need for skincare babes. Trust, simplicity is key. & Target has a shit ton of great affordable products.
I relate so much to the first 5 minutes. My face seems to be getting better (whether I changed my routine or not) and I get all hopeful, and for NO reason at all, it gets even worse. Repeat. It's so comforting to see other people experiencing the same things. It impacts my self esteem on the daily and I have a hard time even leaving my apartment as well. I live with my bf and 90% of the time with bad breakouts, I find myself looking down/away to hide my acne. Even though he says he doesn't mind at all and just wants to see me, my self esteem can't handle it.

Dear Amanda, An amazing difference between the beginning of your Cerave journey. You’re helping so many people who can relate to this and I praise you for that. You are a beautiful soul and your loveliness shines through… you look fab! I’m past 60 yrs old and my simple message to all us gals: you are always evolving - like a stunning butterfly 🦋. Although I don’t know any of you, there are many blessings you have that lighten the lives of others. Keep shining on … I pray for continued blessings to come your way. May you grow to know yourselves and enjoy the ‘you’ that you are today, and the ‘you’ that you are becoming. Sending courage and strength and gratitude your way 🙏🏻☀️🦋🙏🏻

I’ve used both a retinol and retin-a. Both products not only take a long time to work but- your skin will look worse before it starts to look better. It will be sensitive, red, even dry and flaky at first but in the long run it’s worth it.
I definitely see a difference. Even by 3 weeks. Although the breakouts are still there, they look much less inflamed, and looks a lot flatter

This is a very helpful video! I completely understand how you feel, great job on making such a helpful video, looking forward to the updates
You are so brave and beautiful. Thank you for being so vulnerable, I got emotional watching your vid because I know what it's like to not even want to leave your house and be so self cautious and hopeless, I really feel you because I was also in that position, now I'm just working on clearing up my scars that's how I found this vid. Just know you are not alone and it will get better. Some things that helped me is giving my skin a break. I would try a new product almost weekly, my face would freak out. I think the number 1 thing that helped was avoid touching my face as much as possible and changing my pillow case once every 3 to 4 days this really helped stop new breakouts. Now I just use a basic face wash and night cream from senegence but I dont think that made the difference its just that it was very gentle. I'm just about finished and wanted to try something new so I'm thinking of giving the cerave skin care a try. I'm a bit scared tbh since this is the first time in my life that I don't break out anymore.. Have u tried any of the other cleansers or moisturizers ? Thanks again for this video, you are a sweetheart

Thank you for the kind words ❤️ I was using the Daily Moisturizing Lotion from Cerave. I felt like I might have been breaking out more when using it. I switched to one of the only fungal acne safe moisturizers from the drugstore ( not 100% sure I had fungal acne but my face would get itchy when I broke out worse ) it's the SuperHydrate Moisturizer by Elf. It's a gel consistency and my skin seems to be doing better since making the switch. Everyone's skin is different though. I hope you find one that works for you! :)
Amanda it breaks my heart to watch the intro of the video, but you already looked to be in higher spirits towards the end, and that makes me quite happy even though I don't know you. You're quite beautiful regardless of the issues on your skin, and you deserve to be free of that for sure! There's quite the evident difference between the start and day 30, and I hope your skin continues to improve, as retinol does take a few months of constant use to show all of its potential. Don't give up! I hope you recover from your surgery and feel better soon 💕 Best of luck!

I can see a big difference in your skin, after watching your video I've decided to give this a go, I had acne for years like you nothing worked until I was tested for testosterone which was too high, they also found that I had polycystic ovary syndrome. After watching a lot of videos on Cerave the results look good.
There is a visible improvement at the end of the video for sure :) I love CeraVe, I think their products are very effective and more on the affordable side, and I would also like to recommend their foaming cleanser (normal to oily skin); it works pretty well for me so I hope it could be of help to anybody else!
Hey Amanda! Any updates in your journey? Btw I can truly relate to your struggles from my experience I can tell your experiencing hormonal acne, about two year ago I had the same issue not that I don’t have it anymore is just I haven’t been consistent with my diet and trust me this problem comes from the gut and for products to works on us it needs a little more effort on our end to make it work, so hope everything goes well for you 😊
Keep going… you can definitely see so much progress… I think it will keep getting better month by month Stay positive
Thankyou for this, I started using this, I'm 26 and have struggled with acne my whole life, you're beautiful even with the acne, I honestly mean that, I hope continued use helps even more thankyou so much for making this and showing your real skin despite any fears, I appreciate it so much, you're inspiring so many of us who struggle with the same things!
Try using it nightly since you’ve already been using it for a month only a few times a week. you might be able to increase usage since your skin has become accustomed to it
Trust me tretinoin is not that bad. I started in June and had 0 peeling, I buffered for about 2 1/2 months before using it on my bare skin and also I started incrementally so week 1 once a week, week 2 twice, week 3 three times a week, and so on a so forth, I built up my tolerance to it. I did purge but the results have been so worth it!!

Hi. I'm 72 and have had a problem with acne off and on ever since I was 15. It cleared up remarkably when I turned 21, but then it came back with a vengeance when I turned 30. The thing that helped me more than anything was Oxy 10 max strength, with benzoyl peroxide. I don't know if you've ever tried it or not, but it worked wonders for me. I just washed my face with it once a day. But if you are going to try the product she recommended, with retinol, maybe that and Oxy 10 at the same time would be a bit much. Also, the Oxy 10 is not for scarring, but for the prevention of pimples.
I keep using it at Night for 3 months, now my face is so smooth and has no acnes like before ❤ I have used CeraVe AM lotion + Facial foam cleanser + Serum. First 3 weeks of using it seems worse and worse but later on it becomes better and better, trust me it’s good.
Self confidence is your beauty secret number 1 and Girl trust me you are beautiful without any makeup on!!!
I definitely see results in the form of pimples flattening out and the color of your skin is better, the skin in general looks glowy and healthy apart from the acne , but it generally looks better

Advice from someone who has taken accutane and avoided tretinoin for almost a decade (every dermatologist prescribed me the topical but I avoided because of the horror stories I heard from people about the redness, peeling and purge) I TOTALLY regret not starting sooner. Yes I had some peeling but the problem is people don’t understand that you have ease your way into it. I didn’t start seeing real results until month 4. I even was able to convince my coworker to get on the tretinoin wagon. I am 32 but look like I am 25. I was ALWAYS skeptical about tretinoin but after seeing my results, I regret not starting in my 20s. It takes time. You have to be very patient but it’s totally worth it. Ditch all these fancy over priced products that influencers and celebrities try to convince you are worth it. Simple, clean and inexpensive products will do the trick. Pay attention to the ingredients you are using and don’t stress about it. It will make it worse. Also remember that if you are suffering from acne it means your body is trying to tell you something is wrong from the inside.

I've had the best luck with switching to a very gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and toner, and using The Ordinary's granactive retinoid emulsion or a retinaldehyde twice weekly, and also using BHA twice a week. For me, less of everything made such a difference, and I'll never go without my BHA. That alone has helped more than anything. Nothing helps hormonal cystic acne for me, but for everything else, that combo works.
Thank you for sharing! I recently staryed to use this and am hopeful. I also use azelaic acid and noticed it helped overnight. Your skin looks amazing and it definitely appears that the retinol is working. I hope I see the same results!

I was going to say the same! Usually when you have acne on your cheeks and down it’s a hormonal thing. Sometimes you actually need to get blood work done by a dermatologist so they can see where all your levels are at and then go from there as far as what to do next! ❤

Thanks for doing this. The thing about doctors is that they will work with you on your personal goals. If you bring up your concern with work, they do consider it and explain different options and consequences to you. They're more like a therapist than a prescribing machine. You always have the option to deny their treatment suggestions.
I recommend using the acne control cleanser by cerave and the hydrating cleanser as well by cerave since my skin was more on the drier side but we have very similar acne breakouts from what I have seen from your skin and well over a month and a half I saw a dramatic change and I still use it to this day (its been 8 months) the cleansers also take a while to empty and my skin has never been this clear it has not removed scarring but the acne on my face is GONE I can finally say I have clear skin I wish you luck on your acne journey ❤❤
Thanks for putting effort into this video. Hope you are doing better now.
Heyy there Amanda, try finding a really good aesthetician for image skincare peels plus products for aftercare. Hey. I can see a big difference in your skin. Its improving.. ❤
Hi Amanda, I suffer from similar acne I would use so many products and it felt like forever that I would be using them from salts of acid, benzoyl peroxide etc. it would seem like it would be working my skin would be dewy, but it would only last 1-2 then I felt like my skin just died, it’s oily dry, that’s when I realized my skin barrier was destroyed and I had to fix it! I started using gentler products aveeno redness relief foaming cleanser gentle oat replaced salt six acid cleaner , hyloronic acid essence replaced toner, hyaluronic acid serum, sometimes I use a gentle glycolic acid toner combined with my essence right after the toner to gently exfoliate, I shave my face once a week or every other week, and I moisturize and use spf. I lock the moisturize in with an oil called squalane. My skin barrier has gotten better and my redness as well. Remember harsh strong ingredients are not always the best for sensitive skin which I believe you and I may have in common
I really think it was working. Looks great
So far your face looks really good. How does it looks now?
Amanda is pretty af ❣️
Wow amazing difference!
I understand how you feel. I used to break out with cystic acne everywhere. Face, ears, chest and back, and I've had them in my nose in my teens and 20s. In my 30s, it started to calm, a little. Late 30s I went to Accutane. It's better now but the scars left behind leaves me deflated. I can't remember a time that I had clear skin. I started breaking out around 12 or 13.
I took accutane for 8 months and my skin did not peel, just the lips. Nothing was working for me either and I was scared to take accutane after reading so many bad thing about it. Now I just regret not doing it sooner. 😄
I applaud you so much for your courage to upload these videos, as someone who suffers from horrible acne as well I feel your pain and it’s hard to even talk to people most days. Yes! Acne is never as simple as “washing your face” But you have to listen to your skin some people can only use products for weeks before they see results and others have to wait 3 to 6 months. At the very least your skin should show signs of improvement after a month. Have you tried mandelic or lactic acid? nightly or even Azelaic acid?

Hi! I have tried both lactic and azelaic acid ( not at the same time ) I didn't notice a difference with the lactic acid. The azelaic acid seemed to help some, but I was going through tubes of it so quickly. Maybe I should look for a different brand 🤔
