I heard about the cabbage soup diet, also known as the miracle weight loss soup and peel-a-pound soup, which promised a fast weight loss of 10-15 lbs in just one week! I wanted to test it out and found that all is not what it seems, there are some truth bombs being dropped in here and it's also a bit out there and gross, so be warned ;) Must watch if you want to see if this works, how much weight did I lose and all about the side effects or if you want to see the before and after results and my review of the experience. I also tried 4 DIFFERENT CABBAGE SOUP RECIPES, including one with sauerkraut.

    I didn't even know those other diet accompanying food existed. I was only going to try that soup and then eat less processed stuff. I'm 5' 10 and 150ibs so I don't think I need to lose weight. I only want to lose my belly flab. Thank you for sharing!

    today is day 1 for me! i did fat free veg broth, mushroom broth (both 0 calories. no fat), carrots, onion, garlic, zuchinni, 2 can tomato with chili, tumeric, salt and pepper, green pepper. italian seasoning, spinach and celery. i hope it does something, i have a wedding to go to in 5 days! lol. your video is great... literally awesome.

    I'm doing it now. Am I SUPPOSED to do the bananas? OR is that like a "treat" if I need it?? Starting to sound like I'm supposed to to flush out my system... maybe thats where the weight loss comes from?? Tommorow is banana day! I hope u see my comment cuz I'd prefer to skip the milk and nanners if the calories may hurt my results

    I’m on Day 4 of this diet right now and my stomach is tired of the cabbage soup🙈I too made the mistake of thinking you had to eat only cabbage soup all day on Day 1 so I redid my Day 1 after I found “the meal plan rules” online. I’m determined to make it to the end though because I’ve already lost 5 lbs! I’ve been doing tabata workouts and going walking in the evenings so I’m hoping to lose at least 10 lbs🤞🏽🤞🏽For Day 4 & 5 as my source of protein I’m planning on adding Cajun tofu to the soup and make lettuce fish wraps. After watching the whole video I realized I went about this diet a bit differently. You’re right about people modifying this diet to fit their needs and lifestyle. I’ve been mixing in a tbsp of hemp seed and half an avocado on top of my soup. I’ve only been having the soup 1x-2x a day but usually once because I want to make sure I eat enough veggies or fruits. When the plan recommended unlimited fruit I tried making a big bowl of “nature cereal” and absolutely loved it! For unlimited veggies I just ate a bowl of the most basic green salad. For the banana day I did a HIIT Tabata workout. I wanted to make sure my protein intake was met for the day so I made a banana avocado smoothie using coconut milk and almond milk. I only drink nondairy milk so instead of downing almond milk or stuffing my face with bananas (I couldn’t imagine having to eat 8 bananas because that’s just bananas😱😂) I made a cashew yogurt bowl with 2 chopped bananas and a bit of agave.

    I mix my soup with chicken everyday so I had protein. I lost 6 lbs in 7 days (with 20 minutes of cardio each day). I’d say it was a success - so I’m eating only cabbage soup MON to THURS now.

    Thank you for such an honest and candid review, especially for a trend that seems to be so popular online. I love the realness and rawness of your content! I've heard of the cabbage soup diet and I was always so skeptical about it. I've also heard a lot about the 'grapefruit diet' and similar to what you said in this video, people claim eating the grapefruit burns more calories than you consume. Have you heard of that diet or tried that one?

    Yes! I tried the grapefruit diet after giving birth to my son and it really worked. I drunk the Texsun Grapefruit Juice in the red can because it was 100% Grapefruit juice. But it definitely works fast. I followed a plan, if u like I’ll give u the steps.

    @@mikaya1713 Hey! U can use any kind of grapefruit juice as long as it’s 100%. I bought the Texsun brand in the red can here where I live. Breakfast: 2 cups of water Ate a grapefruit(or half of one) And drank a cup of grapefruit juice Lunch: I drunk 2 cups of water Ate lunch and a grapefruit 1 cup of grapefruit juice Dinner:(I didn’t eat after 6, at least tried not to) 2 cups of water Dinner and a grapefruit 1 cup of grapefruit juice Before bed I would drink 2 cups of water And a cup or 2 of grapefruit juice. U can drink it however it works for u, my sister couldn’t stand the taste, but I love grapefruits! She did half and it still worked. Like I drank a cup of water and the second up after I drank the grapefruit juice to kinda ease the acid from it. I only did maybe 50 crunches, randomly. But my stomach is back flat. My Son stretched me out, I had a kangaroo pouch! 😂😂 It didn’t take long either. Oh and I got a black trash bag and tied it around my stomach during the day and it helps better that a waste trainer! U will sweat that stomach off in to time. My Great G’Ma put me to this. I hope this helps💜

    This diet was developed by the heart and stroke department at Baton Rouge. You're not to alter or miss anything. It's all by design. Like the reason for the 8 bananas is because you haven't had any sodium or electrolytes. Plus they knew you were about to have an explosion, so they wanted to make sure you weren't completely depleted. That would explain The light headedness.

    @@Luneyland when I had cancer I did the Gerson protocol diet. They would mix in potassium with the green juices every hour. When I got home, I forgot to mix it in. After a few days I was in the hot tub and when I got out I thought I was going to faint for a few min and was really dizzy. It would happen when standing up also. When you just eat vegetables and liquid, salt and electrolytes just runs out of your system fast and creates this issue. That's why potatoes are so healthy. They slow the absorption, or the rate which you lose it. give you a smooth long energy source, not just up and down with your blood sugar. Plus they are rich in potassium. Its when you combine starchy carbs with meats that the potatoe gets a bad reputation from.

    I did this year's ago but I used the original diet created by the Mayo clinic. I actually lost 12 pounds in a week. It does work and the soup is wonderful....for maybe the first two days. I got soooo tired of eating that dang soup. But I did it for the whole week and lost two more pounds than I planned. But this video was hilarious 🤣.

    A friend of mine who was near 200kg went on a pizza diet. It actually worked! He said he gained in the first week but rapidly got sick of pizza so ate less and less every day. After 2 months he lost 20kg & continued to loose weight because his stomach has shrunk and he didn’t want to do it again. He goes green at the thought of pizza now.

    This was hysterical! I just finished a week of The Cabbage Soup Diet and I can so relate. I struggled with all of the seemingly random rules - eh, I didn't participate in banana and milk day, just stuck to soup - but the soup was good and it was a good jump start to my weight loss efforts. I lost about 6 pounds all told.

    I have been on the cabbage soup for a week (without the extras) It can get boring so I added different spices. I can handle it for a week. The down side is the gas. A chicken cabbage soup would be better and you would get some protein.

    Good review. I've lost a bunch of weight a few times with this diet. Added meat. Didn't hold true. Just eat lean for weeks with the soup. Very little carbs and no sugar

    I think you had less weight to loose compared to other people, which makes it way harder, so three pounds is great! People who are really fat loose weight fast, but that doesn't matter because they would have it as tough as you when they get to your weight level anyway. Thanks for sharing real information 🤗!

    Girl you’re funny! You cracked me up! I think I would leave out the carbs and meat. There is really supposed to be no variation like adding a banana or a potato or chicken. It’s supposed to be straight soup. Try that see what happens. Good luck!

    Ugh this sounds so awful! I'm so sorry you had to go through this torment! I'm not a diet expert by any means. But wouldn't it be enough to eat an unlimited amount of homecooked healthy food and to do a healthy amount of movement?

    I watched some videos for cabbage weight loss soup, and never saw any of those rules to follow. I wouldn't have followed them anyway. I don't consume meat or dairy so those would have been out, and don't much like bananas as they are too rich. The videos showed we are to consume only the soup for seven days but I couldn't do that.     I’ve done not quiet this diet but a cabbage soup diet 4 times now about to do 5 and it always takes off about a pound a pound and half a day. But I don’t eat unlimited soup I just trade the soup for a meal eat 1 big bowl maybe have seconds(half a bowl) and then I do elimination diet for the rest of it. Nothing but water except my morning coffee (lots of water) and the other 2 meals need to be mostly healthy and no unhealthy snacks likes candy chips cookies that sort of thing. Just like fruit, nuts, veggies and hummus that kind of thing and no dessert 🤷🏼‍♀️ everyone’s body’s are so different though so different things will work for different people

    I added bone broth into mine. It was too calorie and substance negative. I felt like trash on day 2 and the hot flashing lol. Not much gas. I drink kombucha also. It would be better with some potatoes and ground turkey also.

    im glad i saw this bc...i cant eat a tomato, not for weight loss ..money...life....i could do tomato sauce in the soup. as a diabetic...the many bananas are a no no. maybe one or tow mixed with skim milk in a smoothie. but....if it only had you lose 3 lbs....idk....if it lowered my blood sugar...it may be worth it. ... who knows.

    I usually have sluggish weight loss...Im trying it..we'll see...I do have to add protein for hypoglycemia. I'll prepare for vanana day : ) I won't ask about the numbimg cream..hilarious!!! and appreciated.. .Truth unfiltered. : )

    M hvin this soup while hvin cabbage soup ... I added shredded chicken in it ! Also I don't add canned tomatoes,I add fresh chopped tomatoes n I make my own chicken stock for it.

    I had a different experience with this diet, I lost 15 pounds the first time I did it, I actually farted less than I normally do. For me the most weight fell off the first four days, I could go to the scale on banana day and just watch myself loosing weight. I didn't lose weight on the meat days at all. One thing I didn't do was include carrots in the soup because of the starch and I stuck to brown rice on brown rice day as barley causes weight gain, gladiators munched on barley to get a bit of a gut as protection from sword swipes to the mid section

    Tried it and OMG! The soup tasted great and I replaced some of the regular cabbage with brussel sprouts and added some green beans. But the aftermath of it was horrifying. The first sign of trouble was the noise my belly started making about 20 minutes after eating a bowl of it. It sounded like someone was trapped there screaming for help. Then came the pain. My body was not ready for this much fiber! It felt like someone was punching me in the gut repeatedly. Coming straight from a high protein diet this was like a bucket of ice cold water in the middle of a heatwave. The pain passed but then in a moment of respite the gases came and they didn't stop untill well past midnight. I had to sleep on the couch bc my bedroom was like a gas chamber in basic training and I didn't have the gas mask on. I didn't know my body was capable of producing an odore so foul. After that came the moment of judgement. The next morning I went to the bathroom and the things that happened in my bathroom should be classified as an act of domestic terrorism. On the upside after it concluded I felt amazing and by the end of the week I did loose over 10 pounds, I imagine in no small part thanks to all the sweating and leg shaking in the bathroom...

    It really does work, I did the 3 day cabbage soup diet & lost 6 1/2 lbs. That was JUST cabbage soup. I ate 3 bowls a day. I think where you PROBABLY went wrong is that you ate all the other stuff. Which I hadn't heard bout. I would try again but just do cabbage soup NO potatoes, NOTHING. Just suggestion

    No matter which diet you follow, you can hope to lose many pounds during first few days, which is of course water loss, when you sustain then you either lose fat or muscles. So, any diet is "desciplin.," And desciplin comes with results- choose your desciplin carefully!

    Bananas are going to do the opposite of what the cabbages doing is going to bulk up your poop which you don’t want you want to poop and baked potato is starch I don’t know how that fit into this diet I just started my day today and all I’m eating is the cabbage soup and water and a little coffee so we’ll see if I lose any weight

    No not really, I mean I guess the onion soup powder I used for some of them must contain some salt but in general I don't add much salt to my foods if any

    I remember when Subway introduced theit 6 gram sandwiches decades ago and that guy Jarod lost over half a ton or something like that before he went to prison for something, anyway, my friend tried the diet but decided he wanted to lose weight faster so he ate 2 Subway sandwiches twice a day. You can guess that it didn't work, right. The moral of this story is tat with any diet you try you must also use some common sense. Follwing the directions properly also help.
