I Tried Solving a 20-YEAR-OLD Digimon Card Mystery
Комедия
In the year 2000, Bandai released 4 series of Digimon trading cards, and one of these series is so rare that nobody has ever even seen a photo of it. I tried to track one down. Enjoy!

Nothing fills me with more joy than Kurtis telling us about things that he cares about a lot. It’s the best form of entertainment.
As a historian working with sources from the 1830s for my current project, this video is genuinely hilarious. The research rabbit hole is deep
I watched Digimon this pandemic since I barely watched it as a kid and I was kicking myself for not checking it out sooner. It's honestly a good anime
only kurtis could make me care about something i have zero interest in. that's talent
I'm glad these bigger creators like digischnitzel can help out the smaller creators like Kurtis Connor 👍
For some reason this made me feel such a rush of emotions. Hardcore nostalgia, heartwarming community, and the eagerness of preserving such an obscure piece of history. So many things like this we never thought about as a kid that were taken out of the plastic, well-used, and even thrown out, that we may never see again. It's like, completing a super niche museum exhibit!
This random sleuth mini series where Kurtis tries to get world records and looks for mysteries in mundane nostalgialand are some of my favorite vids on the internet
Congrats on getting the pack! As a vintage toy collector, I related to this video so much. I have been tempted on many occasions to write toy companies about obscure releases from 30-40 years ago.
this was so entertaining i love when people just go absolutely insane for their interests
It's so comforting for me to watch this video, I absolutely love just being able to hear how passionate you get about things you enjoy. Seeing you get so passionate about something, in a good way, hearing you share your interests in such a cool way in comparison to seeing you just getting irritated is so comforting. Your documentary style videos are always my favorite. I rewatch this video when I'm feeling down just cuz it makes me happy seeing people get so excited over things like this

I got my first Tomogatchi in 1998, and I was lucky to score a nanopet. For those who had a single Gigapet on the device, a Nanopet had the option to chose one of 12(maybe more) pets loaded on the device. This allowed you to pick a pet, and tale care of it until either adulthood, it died, or you were a resetti fiend like me, haunting the nightmares of aforementioned character from the GC classic 'Animal Crossing.' 🤣

Happy birthday Kurt!!! I’ve been watching you for about 3 and a half years, and I’ve rewatched all of your old videos like 5 times. Thanks for being a part of my life for a while!
i honestly love seeing kurtis talk about something he’s just so genuinely passionate about, like you can tell how much he loves talking about this and how happy it makes him
Seeing my own face pop up at 12:03 sure took me off guard! Anyway, I wish I had known you were making the video, I'd have loved to give some additional info on the earlier series of cards (with the original artstyle) which I like to think I 'specialise' at (hence the many videos I made on them 😅). There's a couple of extra sets that were exclusive to certain countries before the contract between Bandai and Upper Deck got ended for instance that I could tell you about in depth. Still, nice video It's my favourite TCG and would love to make it reach more people to enjoy, I'm sure that with your reach and numbers it makes it more possible! ! If ever you were to revisit Digi-Battle for a new video, feel free to get in touch with me!
It makes me so happy that you were or still are a digimon fan
Kurtis the king for knowing Digimon is better

Knew it was only a matter of time before you showed up lol
Pokemon had such a death grip on me I literally never saw digimon cards as a kid but I still feel like Kurtis took us along with him on this journey. You're an amazing content creator man!

Apparently, Pokemon was much better as a computer game rather than anime, which was just a “monster of the week” show where nothing happens, no progess, no larger continous story. Digimon, however, was a way better anime than it was a card game that did not find its own character, so was trying to mimic either Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon card play. Not sure about the plastic grow monster games, though.
