Hi Jan, wow, that looks like a great expedition experience. Those going in the Kayaks are they the guides or just more skilled people as opposed to those on the big Rafts? That must have been a Chilling experience to jump off the cliff into the cold water. Even with the protective gear it would be pretty brutal. The warm shower or the Hot Tub sounds like a nice place to warm up after getting wet in the cold water.

It's a lot of fun! In the kayak there were both guides and also skilled kayakers who were traveling around and joined the trip. To be honest, every time I dress into a drysuit I'm surprised how warm it is - even in a cold glacial river!

When I was last in Zimbabwe I promised myself that if I ever went back I would do the rafting at Victoria Falls, thankfully I’ve not been back 🤪 I’m a real hero, not 😅 it really looks fun but Arthritis is a bit.h & it would not be good for me! So I live vicariously though other people’s high adventures. There is an earthquake swarm happening atm & we’re all on high alert. Oh lord, I’m just watching those cliff jumps 😮

I get it, I'm also still gathering courage to come back to the river in North Iceland with those cat.4 rapids. Being held under the water isn't necessarily in my element haha. - earthquake swarm in Australia? We also got one yesterday and it finally resulted in the eruption, nr.8 😀

Gosh, I love the idea of doing that... but, how can anybody do it in this freakin' cold conditions ??? I remember being there, the air was already to cold in the 'summer', the water stuck mostly frozen at the walls at Gullfoss and elsewhere. At 'best' weather conditions I still called it window weather and didn't know what to wear... You need a big pair to do any of those you showed here... !!! Though, I would be in for the sauna, hot tub and any Icelandic meal... ;-)

haha yeah it isn't for everyone but - you would be surprised how warm it is in those drysuits. Even too warm when the temps climb a bit higher. The only time I got cold in those was when once I got very sweaty and then stood around on the wind for a long time. But I still haven't tested that in the winter, that definitely sounds more brutal haha
