Dal Makhani is my all time favourite comfort food! I usually cook a huge pot and portion it in preserving jars, keeping them in the fridge to have my Dal ready when coming home late from work. Also, my friends like to be gifted a couple of jars every now and then I make a fresh batch. Also, I love spicy Indian dishes - despite being a very potato-y German potato. I had my best Dal Makhani at the Denissons hotel in Hubli by the way. Thanks for bringing this beautiful dish into everyone else’s view. Lots of love from Germany. :)

I am flattered 🙏🏽 Truly though, nothing is too spicy for him. He once visited a Mexican restaurant that serves food on a spicy scale of 1-10, and for customers who order a 10 and finish their meal, they get their photo on the “wall of flame.” He and his sister who was visiting from India both ordered a 10. She couldn’t finish hers because it was too spicy so he ate his meal AND her meal and asked if he could have two photos of himself up on the wall 😂

I love Indian food, and I have been practicing cooking it for some time. There are multiple Indian markets near my house and I go through very similar cooking steps as you do but still trying to perfect the taste. It's so hard for me to get that restaurant taste that I'm going for

  • @ridhiimas

don't go for restaurant taste, homemade Indian food is very moderate on spices and oils, it should make you feel homely and give comfort, restaurents use very intense level of spices and ghee to drive flavour, it's fine to indulge in it once in a blue moon but homemade slightly mild and fresh food is 🤤
