Track limits are for everyone, everyone knows the rules, you just turn a blind eye because it was someone's first win, how is that fair to all the drivers who stayed within the limits. Collard did do a great job to keep sutton behind,but he did overstep the limits on many occasions. Ingram said the same.The discussion is,if you are constantly going of the track,while the following cars do not ,then you are taking a faster line,which is gaining a advantage. One guy cant have it his way,just because it messes up a exciting race. The stakes are very high in the BTCC,so i cant see how the authorities could let it slide without major complaints from all the other teams.

Great Vlog as ever Dan.. Thanks. Some positive results so as you said you're going in the right direction. Re track limits. We feel the regs are too tight regards tyre overlap. Entire tyre needs to be over lines, not a percentage or even 1 inch. Utterly ludricous. It's far too tight for you guys. See what happens...

Regarding your sleeping issues. The sky cycling team used to ship the riders duvets, pillows etc everywhere with them. As the familiarity, feel and smell made it feel like the bed from home. Maybe try that. Although can’t see you changing the hotel bed when you arrive 😂

Thanks Dan. As far as track limits go, I really think it's a bit farcical this year. I've watched many categories of uk racing over the last few weeks, and it is definitely having an adverse effect, with so many penalties being dished out. As fans, we want to see drivers and their cars right on the edge - pushing the boundries. Sometimes, that means being over the edge, and those extra bit of curb can either benefit you or send you off. Penalising a driver for having a wheel over the line is ridiculous really. We'll end up with a procession as drivers won't want to push that extra bit out of fear of being penalised.

Regarding the Collard track limits, can race control really tell me that out of all 27 or so cars, Collard was the only one going consistently wide?

Fab video with behind the scenes stuff. It depends what the rules are as in how many warnings do you get before being punished? Surely Collard was told about him being warned about track limits before the 10 second penalty? I think if its policed correctly and same for all drivers then can’t really argue but I can see how it takes the shine off things

Hmm track limits are there for a reason and they did warn him so ye. Maybe they should look into putting sensors in the car to make it so its fair and its not done off of what the camera shows.

Hey Dan love the vlog mate and looking forward to seeing you at Snetterton, and the track limits issue is something is definitely either monitored incorrectly or it's something that needs to be explained but I feel sorry for Ricky as he was given a ten second penalty but was it too many times over the limits or was it did he get a number of warnings but then pushed it as he was battling to keep Ash Sutton Behind Him, I've been a fan of the btcc for 24 years as of the end of this month but I've seen anything like it where a driver hasn't been told information that they haven't won. Hopefully we get a bit more of a clear picture of it. Sorry if it offends anyone but I gotta say it's a hard one to judge

Lucky stones eh ? When I was racing I used to have a pair of lucky balls... they didn't seem to bring me any luck, but thinking back maybe I needed to rub them more :)

Fantastic blog as always mate. Regarding the track limits. I personally think that they are there for everyone and so the rule should be followed. It does need to be policed so much better .

All track limits should be done on everyone and if not then they should not take away a position on on person at all, if they want to get everyone then have people on corners watching all drivers and then get everyone and also have cameras in all cars to check up on it plus as your on TV have more cameras also to help with penalties is all races etc on a race weekend, as I know this championship and support races want to be the best, so get the best from it in my view

@UK Racer they have loads of cameras round the race track just add a few more and if you have more people then you bit have that main problem 1 guy gets a penalty in a race where more could have been, there needs to be a balance and make things fair, as I feel if guy that wins a race didn't I don't think they look at the track limits on them, so they need to make sure all are happy and get it level across the field and other thing you you have marshall posts you could make one them I to a role or as they have governing bodies get them to supply the people as whoever brought the new track limits rule in then need to back it up and be fair to all

A track limits penalty isn't the issue for me, there's 2 reasons why it didn't sit well with me - firstly the suddenness of it, usually high profile track limits warnings get mentioned in commentary but this went from nothing to 10s penalty straight away (not blaming David or Tim, idek if Ricky had any warnings beforehand). Secondly, 10s is wayyy too harsh for track limits, should be 5s max imo. Great vlog as always Dan!
