would actually be pretty simple you just rinse the bowls out and run them through an industrial dishwasher

@@johnkies1189 Yeah, I'm sure there's a lot of automation 'backstage'. But even if there wasn't, it's not like you really need to deep clean the soba bowls - they just get the noodles in them and then dunked out into the people's personal bowls. You could probably just hit them with hot water and send them back out - since it's just the same noodles going in and no one else touches the bowls except the server.

Easiest place to dishwash is someplace that specializes. The serving dishes are the same, the kitchen items used are the same, and even if somehow it was all by hand with no industrial sanitizer? Still simple to go into autopilot to clean and more efficient.

I love how momentous the moment of hitting 100 bowls was for Joey, and then only to be immediately overshadowed with more noodles put in the bowl... Like "100 bowls? haha them's rookie numbers!"

Respect to the waitresses. They maintained excellent service from start to finish. Really impressive temperament.

Sharla's "F*** off" when she was done and the lady was going to put more in her bowl was a very genuine expression by the pained. I relate on a spiritual level.

And lastly, there's the hurdle of English swears. Chris has an old video of him teaching Japanese businessmen how to use the F word in different ways, so the swear isn't common there. I'm sure the woman would've been taken aback if she understood Sharla and would've shown a reaction. In fact, I think she was talking to Joey, lol.

@@letsdomath1750 South Africa, Singapore and Ireland alone, strictly speaking. India and Hong Kong both use English a lot but their own native languages are used more prominently, even if most people are fluent in English.

a soba restaurant in my area actually did this but we had a time limit and the bowls were like 3 bites each. Me and my brother tied for first place. sadly they don't do it anymore though.

I am Japanese. Soba noodles are lower in carbohydrates than udon or ramen noodles made of wheat flour, so you can safely eat a lot of them. It's a very healthy noodle. I never imagined that foreigners even eat wanko soba! It was fun.

The guys washing those dishes be like: Why am I still here, just to suffer? But tho i hope they have a dishwasher.

@@mattjones8016 Sadly, this is not the case, japan loves keeping old and extremely irrelevant technology a thing, everything goes through fax, for example, japan is either Gundams or feudal, there is no in-between

@@sirBrouwer they didn't actually use the bowls though. They poured it into one bowl so they probably dont have to clean the hundreds lf red bowls by hand

@@Yachii they would still nee to clean it. there has been food in it. so they will have to be cleaned. I thing that they will use a professional dishwasher but still that would be a big undertaking if you heard how many costumers go there on a normal day.
