Cold Plunges have exploded in popularity, so I wanted to take a closer look into why. I made a goal to start a cold water immersion journey, submerging myself into cold water every day for a week with the final destination at a frozen lake. Can I withstand sub zero temperatures, and will I see any benefits to cold plunging? I find out in this video!

I've been following Buff Dudes since around 2015-2016 (I think) and I love that after all these years you guys still put out content that's informative, entertaining and motivational as hell

Buff Dudes are at that level where they could probably just phone it in and yet they still don’t. Everything they put out has that same level of knowledge, charm and humor as they did since day one. They’ve found a way to elevate their content without compromising their integrity. That’s what sets them apart. Thanks, Dudes.

Ive been doing this for about 3 months now. I live in Canada so a tub in the back yard works for me. I am impressed that you just dove right into it. I did 3 weeks of cold showers and worked up from 50F water down to 36F. It is warm out now now so it sits around 40-44F....still brutally cold. My morning routine consists of jumping in my hot tub for 15mins then 3 mins in the cold tub. I am 54 and just started lifting again thanks to this. It destroys inflammation in my joints letting me lift pain free. You guys are very inspirational and I love the way you present fitness. Keep up the great work and thank you for the push I need sometimes.

That’s so great! I’m only 28 and have some arthritis in my knees. I have been plunging for about a month now. How often do you do it? I’ve been doing it about 1-2 times per week.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned or not, but if you wear even a thin pair of neoprene booties, it does wonders on your time in the water. Always love your videos, keep up the great work!

I've been doing cold water immersion for years. When I started doing it I noticed how well my body would recover from work. I never even bothered to look it up to see if it was actually beneficial or not because I enjoyed the way I felt after. People used to look at me like I was crazy while I would chip away at the ice to make a hole all while being shirtless in swimming trunks. Seems like more and more people are coming around to the idea of cold immersion. Shout out to my fellow polar plungers in the Adirondacks.

One of the first channels that got me started in lifting and taught me proper form. Glad to see they're still pushing out quality content. That said, 37F is hardcore AF. Health benefits occur 50F-59F for a minimum of 11 minutes per week. That's all that's needed. Caveat to anyone watching: don't do a lake plunge unless you have people watching you, because you can seize up and drown if you have a bad reaction or your muscles freeze up. Also if you have any un/diagnosed heart conditions you can and will die from cold shock in 30-40f. One lady died from 50F for 3 minutes. Be careful is all. I ice plunge in my ice pod every day. I'm neurotic AF, and it helps calm my mind SO much. I notice a profound increase in the amount of control I have over my crazy brain. Stress does not hit as hard. And that's just at 50F. Can't wait to experience the 40s and 30s! Stay buff!
