Harsh treatment is the worst decision to make. AI or not. All it does is reduce RR by... what? 5 points? 10? You pay hundreds of mil mana for that (depending on development) and get nothing out of it. "Nothing how?". Because conquered land with RR is going to revolt whether you like it or not. Dropping harsh treatment only extends the time to the revolt by a few years. The optimal way to go about this is: 1. Conquer land. 2. Reduce autonomy. 3. Provoke revolt when it reaches 50% chance. 4. Wage new war. 5. Put down a secondary revolt on the previously conquered land. 6. Stuff. Now, the absolutely atrocious thing ive seen people (and AI...) do after conquering land is actually raising autonomy. To that i say "Nice job, buddy. You have a revolting province with over 60% autonomy, which youve increased to 85%, so now you get nothing out of it, while still having to fight the rebels. Brilliant plan."

I bet the AI gave land to Castile instead of demanding independence because it wanted to avoiding losing trust with Castile

Now you can co-op with an AI in a Vicky game and give Tunis an actual chance

Disconnecting every 5 years and coming back 5 years later, yep seems like an average EU4 MP.

I legit clicked in thinking "there's no way he found an AI that could be taught to play EU4"... I don't know how to feel right now.

I think if he continued this game he would just be devasted Thirty Years War Germany style between France and Commonwealth juggenauts. Leaving Rome and Naples as smoking ruins.

This looks like an incredibly fun way to play, the AI truly is a wild card making the game more difficult and interesting for seasoned players.

Dang, I wanted to see the birth of Italian Columbia, the very real and very historical colony of Italy.

I think the main problem that the AI faced in the early game was player warmongering, honestly. Players, especially decent and above ones, pick fights that both aren’t historically accurate behaviour-wise and which seem suicidal. Rather than trying to stabilize in that war, the AI peaced out - but with their debt it didn’t feel safe so didn’t take independence. Or Naples just didn’t feel like winning today. Who knows. Paradox AI is in another realm.

what i do is play with one nation for 30 years then switch to another nation play for another thirty years and see what the AI does with the previous nation, and repeat . its much more interesting than sticking with one nation.

I had something similar one time. But it was multiplayer we were both playing the same nation and when my friend left i had an option to Allow AI to control and i did. You should to... it'll be great

the pain you felt from the AI is the pain I feel when you throw your entire army onto a siege, especially when the enemies have no more armies

So this is why eu4 had the "psychological horror" tag some time ago. xD

Continue this game, or if you do another AI co-op we gotta see some colonial gameplay

Update: it has been nearly 12 days since the last Laith upload. I can feel myself slipping without my daily dose of Laith’s dulcet tones in my ears. At the current rate, I can feel my sanity flatline within the week

You should try playing in observe mod, There you can rule the country at the same time as AI

Hope this becomes a recurrent format. It's wierdly pleasing to see the pain the AI can inflict you

You should do it again with Majapahit because that’s a nation that needs the player to be in charge for it to be successful due to the AI not knowing how to deal with the disaster

that was very fun to watch, i would love to see that again. if not the same thing, maybe play as japan, and every five years swap to a diferent dymyo. could be fun to watch you having to fight one of the other tags you were just playing as.

In HOI4 you can do human_ai into the console and have the ai work while you are controlling a nation

Could you do another but you switch every time the ruler dies?

prehaps you could, instead of every 5 years, do it for every government change swap out? ruler dies, swap. regency councel to new king swap. become a republic or monarchy, swap. things like that to better fit a roleplay

AI in India. Unfortunately, the AI in the middle east would probably die to the Ottomans real quick. New World doesn't has a tough enough game that doing it with the AI would just be a painful death. Ethiopia could be neat; as could the far east. Its tricky to think of places that you could do it reasonably.

You say the AI is bad, but I have seen on your very channel the Burgundy AI upstage your Montferrat run

Should have given it 10-50 years. Just so it could mess up your game even more.

For a future video it might be interesting that instead of co-oping with the AI you co-op with an inexperienced player. Either someone who never played EU4 or simply someone with little experience. No communication though obviously, that would ruin the point methinks.

Did the AI 🤖 really cause problems, if you take the time it ran the nation as downtime for you? I feel if you just did something else during the time, it would be a faster victory than if you used all your time doing it if you measure by the time you invested.
