I tried aerobatics with Jay Foreman and neither of us could handle it | Tom Scott plus

Ойын-сауық

I used to hate the idea of loops and G-forces. These days, things have changed: so I invited @JayForeman to join me at the British Aerobatic Academy, to see if either of us had the Right Stuff. Spoiler: we really didn't.

A huge thank you to the folks at the British Aerobatic Academy for all of their help: Joe Watson, Maciej Kulaszewski, Aidan Grimley, and Marc-Antoine Vanhove.
The BAA team politely asked us to add this disclaimer: This video has been edited for the purposes of the story, and is not reflective of the hard work put in by the British Aerobatic Academy to make our experience as safe as possible. They have strict protocols to follow as pilots, which may not be represented accurately here. This video should not be used for educational purposes.

So here's the new channel! Thanks to all the team who worked on getting this ready. Videos every other Saturday, 6pm UK time. I have no idea if this is going to work: It's experimental, it's collaborative, and I'm nervous about it because it's different. But here goes!

On a serious note, that's why it is so important to have a (current) therapist, a caretaker or a supervisor that knows that you do that. So they can double-check, when you say you're fine. Especially if you're saying it in front of people (surroundings or a group) that are ready to take down anything you claim, want or ask. (Not suggesting Tom had that, but I have that often.)

The support of a therapist and helpful friends is important but people usually can measure their own limits and if someone in recovery is pushing too hard it takes a good friend to help set limits when they cannot.
