    Very happy as well. My guess is it's technique, plus hair moisture. the pre-stretch and not letting her hair shrink might have been key plus pre moisturized strands- always helps to start on happy strands.

    What are people having an issue with? What is so difficult? I am sorry I am 4c and have been doing this over a decade. However i am from the time in the early 2000's and this was COMMONLY done and has always been very easy to accomplish so i don't get what is difficult to do. Is it having high definition of curls or what?

    hair length doesn't matter at all for a twist out. im 4c as well. products definitely do! you've got to get moisturized so it doesn't come out frizzy, but also get some hold so you can have definition.

    she's right. you need a juicy leave in. and a defining FOAM. this is the best combo for twisting out tight, undefined hair. and you want to do it on WET hair. soakkk your hair in the foam. stretch it after you're done with the banding method and go to sleep.

    I've been natural for most of my life(we stopped relaxing my hair at 7, im 18 now) and now that I'm the one who has to take care of my hair, it is SUCH a struggle. All the natural hair influencers seem to do it so well and be perfect all the time, so seeing your videos and learning with you instead of from you is more comforting than you could ever know 💕

    Hey Danielle, I’m so glad you retried a twist out it’s my main protective style. I can’t do a cute braid but I can do a twist and it’s worked fine for helping me grow inches. I have 4a…ish hair but I sometimes style my sister’s 4c one so this is extra informative for me who realizes I can’t treat her hair like mine. I’ve been doing twists for a while so it’s not a stretch to say I’ve stretched my hair out so it’s easier for me. Maybe this will give me the courage to try cornrows (and fail) again. That devil (looks at follicles) still eludes me. Edit: I forgot the piece of advise I wanted to give. For me I actually can just use an oil and pomade to style my twists and it leaves my hair mega soft and bouncy for a few days before I take it out.

    "I’ve been doing twists for a while so it’s not a stretch to say I’ve stretched my hair out so it’s easier for me" And that is what so many of the new naturals have failed to do which is to really LEARN their hair. To experiment in various styles. So many of the hair info our deals with synthetic hair that is virtually 100% of the time straight. Don't even know how to deal with kinky weave so they aren't used to feeling it all the time to actually "deal' with it. The current natural hair trend really doesn't promote like it did in the earlier years which was to accept and deal with your natural hair alone and style it. Learn how to style, grow and maintain your hair.

  • @shanika4160

    @@marlak4203 I see your point but for me I’ve found this works best for my personality, I’m always sort of shocked when I see my own follicles extremely defined because my hair isn’t naturally like that and for me it’s easier to use one protective style for convenience than consistently style my natural hair as is. It’s easier for my to sleep and get up and go.

  • @marlak4203

    @marlak4203

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@shanika4160 of course. You shouldn't be doing various styles all the time. I used to change up every week which is why my hair wasn't growing much. So i have kept it steady(thanks to the pandemic) and my hair is flowing and growing so very well. I will be about waist length by spring or so. I just have to stay on the ball of moisturizing my hair. Oo can't wait. But yes consisten styles and maybe change once a month or so helps. In the earlier years women used to do challenges to their natural hair which was wear it in one style for a whole season. So for winter they'd wear buns, twists, weaves, updo's, wigs, scarves/hats on their head and keep it protected during the entire winter and then in the spring take their hair down to see how much length they have retained. But that was popular before KZread and the sponsors came along.

    I need to try twist outs on stretched hair. I usually install twists on soaking wet hair and my twist outs resemble my wash and gos as my natural curl pattern takes over. So, I typically avoid twist outs.

    Same here. I might try it on dry hair as well to see how it comes out

    We have very similar hair types especially when it comes to thinner hair. I will try this. I have given up on twist outs and braid outs. I would also try mouse! It has been a game changer for my wash n gos.
