wash and go 4c natural hair is hard. wash and go natural hair is hard. So getting through an entire 4c wash day is hard enough, but when you add high shrinkage to the mix, life is hard. Natural hair isn't without its challenges, but this dry damaged natural hair really does up the ante. having kinky hair too is pretty intense most of the time lol So, hopefully my shrinkage test will be helpful to you somehow. :)

    My hair is nipple-length now (haha) and when I was relaxed that length was considered really long back in the day when "black girl long" meant hair that went past your shoulders. Now the natural hair community has thousands of women of color with waist length, hip length, butt length and even longer hair. It's getting harder to define what is short and what is medium length these days--but that's a good thing! As long as its healthy, its beautiful at any length!

  • @linkin5961

    @linkin5961

    2 жыл бұрын

    I would say your hair is long. It's black women who are re-defining what is long hair with ridiculous standards. Many white co workers have nipple and bra strap length hair. And consider their hair long. That is one reason I don't follow the natural community much. They will keep a women thinking she is bald even with hair.

    I've been natural for 9 years now and had originally avoided the "wash n go" for years due to fear of knots, etc. To my surprise I discovered that my hair is most happy in a "wash n go" because it just likes to do what it wants to do. It doesn't like to be forced into a twist out, braid out or any other "out" style. She's content now ✊🏾

Idk if it's been "trained" to do the wash n go or if the products I'm using are really working well, but I can now just rake the gel through and get the same results you get. And our hair is very, very similar except I'm high porosity.

    My go-to products right now are to spritz my hair with glycerin, then use Camile Rose' Honey Leave-in, then As I Am's Curling Jelly. I rake the leave in & jelly through my strands and the definition is *chef's kiss* 😍

    I’ve transitioned for the past few years and now in quarantine I’m finally wearing my natural hair out and dealing with it more, I did my first wash n go bc I didn’t feel like doing a protective style since I suck at most of them and the wash n go went so well! I’m lucky to be able to glean so many tips& advice from u and other youtubers. My natural hair journey is a lot smoother bc of it

    Thank you so much for making this tutorial!!! I've been natural for 3yrs now & I've been attempting my first round of Wash n' Gos to combat some breakage that I believe to have been caused by too much manipulation. This will make it so much easier!! Thank you!!! (GO TEAM 4C!!)

    Great minds think alike. I've been doing this hairstyle for the past three weeks. I love it. I can keep this hair moisturized throughout the week and not have to worry about small strand knots. I also don't get any breakage when I take it down.

    Hi Danelle. Love to join you on your journey loving your self and your natural hair texture. I wish I had the patience to shingle my 4B/4C hair. I just pile on as much gel as humanly possible and get out the old Denman brush. Keeping that definition in for 14 days that's amazing. Love your channel!

    This! Thank you for this! My partner and I have been trying to crack the code of styling his 4C hair for a little while now and this video has been the most helpful one I’ve seen so far! When I met him he was putting literally 0 product in his hair after his washes! Thanks for making this video (and all of your other ones) so detailed- you were one of the first channels I watched re. his hair because (obviously) I was clueless when it came to caring for textured hair. Keep doing what you’re doing!

    Looks SO cute! I do mine while I’m in the shower. It’s gotten so much faster and the moisture in the shower makes it stay wet for the raking! I rarely do twist outs anymore 👏🏾 It’s fabulous and lasts til my next wash 😭✨

    Starpuppy thank you soooo much for making your hair videos. You remind me a lot of my own hair journey in accepting and learning to love my 4c and sparse density hair. Now, thanks to you I have discovered the game changer that aloe vera is in my wash n' go. I tried to finger coil my hair at first like you did but the coils weren't coming out the way I liked so I tried raking and shingling it instead which gave my hair more of a 'separated coil look' then continued throughout my whole hair and I absolutely fell in love😍 bc not only did my hair, lolz, "clump" beautifully but they were unbelievably juicy and moisturised like never before. Also, my hair was so soft and flexible in the wind which wasn't normally possible from the gel I would use to define my coils. I might not have been able to follow through entirely with your wash n' go (finger coiling) method but you still helped me find a better way to do it - in a way that really compliments my hair😊.
