I’m 62 & can still remember those hard early years motherhood days......... I applaud you - you’re absolutely rocking it - real-y 👏 . And I 💕❤️😍your daily wardrobe idea as I stay in pj’s often & do not feel better for it !! Like you I already have a capsule wardrobe so it should be easy to do what you’ve done. 😊 Thankyou

This video was so profound for me. I have watched and tried so many capsule videos and ideas ect. When you said “I’m just going to pick an outfit for every day of the week” my brain went OH DUH WE CAN DO THIS. THANK YOU! I’m the past I’ve tried to narrow down my wardrobe to versatile pieces that can make as many outfits as possible. So you are constantly mixing them and that is exhausting and bleh. (For me). One outfit a week on repeat that is the same is so much more doable! Speaking as a mom haha

I love all the sweaters, they look nice on you and they also look so comfortable. Your hair at the 7 minute area looked so cute in the long pony tail. I do have to say I'm with Tate on the jeans, you have such a cute/great figure and I don't think they do you justice. The other jeans are a lot cuter! I'm so glad that planning the outfits for each day ahead of time is helping so much. Sometimes it's the little things that make such a difference.

I've used a capsule wardrobe for 7 or 8 years. Being able to go into your closet and quickly find an outfit that you like and feel good in is amazing! It's also helped me not buy unnecessary clothing since I know exactly what I need to finish out my wardrobe for that season. Another thing you talked about that I've experienced is the psychological benefit of getting dressed every day. I started doing that about 18 years ago when my 3rd child was a baby and it was transformational. It's also helpful when one of your kids has an emergency and you have to jump in the car to go the doctor! Life with kids!!

Good for you…..it’s so important to feel like a women and not just a tired mommy. The kids grow up and your roll with them will change, but you need to continue with who you were before them to still be yourself when you’re back to just you and hubby. Your hubby will appreciate you still being a women for him, even though he loves and supports you now. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

If you add the white t-shirt under all of your sweaters so the white collar peeks out, it will elevate your outfits just a smidge and will help keep down the cleaning costs of your sweaters:) You always look great!

I agree with Natalie, regarding Tate’s not liking the jeans. After 25 years of marriage, it takes a lot for my husband to brave that kind of comment. When he mentions without asking, that he doesn’t like the way something looks or fits, out it goes! He’s got to look at me another 50 years, so why not skip the rare piece he doesn’t like? And by the way, you’re so crazy pretty that everything looks good on you (well, almost, according to Tate 🙂)

I appreciate this so much because I’m also a SAHM to my 5 yo daughter and 3 mo son. I’m pretty newish at the SAHM life so transitioning to the “this isn’t a day off, this is life” mindset has been weird. I never get ready bc most of my clothes aren’t comfy and they just remind me of my tiny pre baby bod. I’ve been living in pajamas/leggings. I’m going to do this tomorrow!!

Such a relateable video. I am a mum of three (age 18 months, 4.5 years and 6 years) and I recently tried creating a style uniform - just repeating the same outfit formula depending on the occassion. Shorts and tee at home, dress and sneakers when I leave the house, fancier shoes for nicer occassions. I'm down under so will create a similar cold weather uniform when the seasons change. It takes the guesswork and mental load out of deciding what to wear. Soooo good.

So, I am 54 and have 2 adult daughters (24 and 23) and I have had a a full house with my parents, my girls, and their significant others home for the holidays. I wish I had watched this before this 2 week period of trying to work, grocery shop, feed, and care for the 8 humans in my home so I could have avoided looking like a disaster the whole time! Your method is simply brilliant, and let me say that parenthood never ends! Which is great as I am going to miss my full house. I am going to try this method going forward because it is awesome. Thanks!

Congratulations! You will never want to give that kind of security upp! I know as I did exactly the same for my entire work life as a teacher. Exept I started with 6 outfits so I didn’t come to school with the same outfit every Monday. As the years went on I extended it to 15 outfits for both school and other formal occasions. Just using next ”in line” of the outfits. In the morning and when you are stressed it is a blessing to know that you always have an outfit that you really feel good in to just put on! And as the children grew and I sometime got time to do a little more I could try new things like putting a shirt I had with pants together with a skirt instead and feel like I had something completely new on. To be honest that didn’t happened more than once or twice but it is always an option ( if you have the time). So I think this ”video” is brilliant for all stressed and overwhelmed mothers! You Are Brill as Always 👌❤️

This video has helped so much! My wardrobe has been bothering me. Its pretty minimal already. I think I have under 50 items (including outerwear and shoes, but not including unmentionables and pajamas). I spent a couple hours yesterday logging every item I have and then making 6 outfits for M-Sat. And then I have 3 outfits to rotate for Sunday church. It feels so good! I have 3 drawers that literally only have MTW clothes in one, ThFSat clothes, and then the last drawer with Sundays 3 choices. My other 2 drawers (top) is socks and unmentionables and the last drawer has PJs and grubby clothes. I am so excited to be jumping into this weekly wardrobe! 😅

Yrs and yrs ago before I ever heard of a capsule wardrobe, I did a thing. I got rid of things I wasn’t wearing, didn’t fit right, didn’t like anymore. Then I started making outfits and hanging them together in my closet. I didn’t put them back in the closet according to type of item or color. I would put a particular pr of pants/jeans on the rod, then the normal stuff I usually wore with it, then some tops I hadn’t considered wearing with them. And so on. I was young and cute then and wore more colors and patterns. So I’d make normal outfits, then add new stuff that would go with those particular colors & patterns. Really all I did was thin out my wardrobe and then instead of hanging things up by category and color, hung them in groups of outfits. It really helped me.

Pitch the pants your husband does not like. They are cute but something is off about them. Maybe the length or the ribbed off hem, I agree with him. I learned one thing if your husband says something about what you wear listen to him, mine doesn't care about clothes, so if he told me that I would know it was for a reason. You did great with all your outfits. You're a very pretty young lady and can wear whatever you want it would look good on you. Your baby is the cutest too. Peace!

Haha Also about the jeans, I think it’s the fit and length. You have a great shape and they are not flattering you correctly it could be the seams 🤷‍♀️. But I suggest find a comfy but flattering pair and don’t compromise so you know you know you will get your wear out of them. :)

Gen Z here, and I have to say I LOVE those pants! The wide leg and longer hem are much more trendy now. But trendy doesn't mean anything. What matters is if you like them and feel like yourself in them😊 Also, this idea is genius! I am currently 6 weeks pp with my second and most days I stay in the same clothes all day... It doesn't help that I'm in my weird limbo state of not fitting into my pregnancy clothes or normal clothes. Reducing my expectations of having a full wardrobe to just having one outfit for each day of the week sounds relieving at this point😅. Thanks for sharing!

I love your channel it's always so real & I can see myself in you. I will try out the 7 outfits for a month. Also about those pants that your husband dislikes... I have similar ones and my husband hated them first too :) why don't you try a high waisted pair with a clean and straight cut at the bottom, that will make your legs look longer & you can wear it with nice boots, all stars or doc martens just as an example. Thank you for uploading it's always inspiring for me.

is that a heart shaped patch of darker hair on baby's head? how awesome is this? I am a granny since 2007 but my son was born just before Christmas and then postpartial syndrome got me and ....I can relate so well to the tiredness after non existing nights and all of it. The way you still keep your home neat and beautiful is amazing, watching you snatching a few second for the tiniest self care is instantly mood lifting. I am European and lounge ware wasn't done when I was young. However stretch denim made all the difference and the looks...something with a deep V-neck and ideally a propped up collar to lengthen the neck and draw the eyes to a young and beautiful face with an amazing smile goes a long way. What about just taking in the legs of the more cropped denim a tiny bit on the sides? it fits great at the top and that would elongate the legs as I suppose lenghtening heels would not really work with 3 kids, would it?

Super cute cropped jeans but if you go out of the house in them, wear a platform shoe. Like a platform sneaker. Keep. Don't cut.

I think you are on to something! Keep it up! Only because you asked...I'm with your husband on those jeans. You are beautiful with a cute figure, but those jeans do not flatter you at all. They make you look shorter and wider than you really are. They also don't seem to fit your backside, creating an unflattering look. It's the pants, not YOU. Just remember, with your wardrobe, only keep the clothes that make you feel amazing :) Get another pair of jeans that you feel great in. Also, here's a tip about sweats. You can buy really nice lounge pants that have a high, wide waistband and soft, stretch fabric that look nice and put together. Put a sweater, t-shirt, ANY top at all, with them and it's an elevated loungewear look. You feel like you're in sweats, but seriously look put together enough to go to the store or to lunch with friends. At the same time, you'd not feel the difference if you were home sick. I'm 48yrs old. I was a sahm for 17yrs. Preschool teacher for 9 yrs. I chose years ago to only wear cute clothes, no saggy butts, immediately throw away stained, torn, worn out clothes. I only wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. You can do this and still look cute, sexy and put together. Some pants to check out are Dicks Sporting Goods DSG Women's Stride Jogger Pants, Dicks Sporting Goods CALIA Women's Calia Core Energize Jogger , and Target Women's Stretch Woven Tapered Cargo Pants - All in Motion. I love them all, and they all look better on than they do on these models, LOL. Then have a handful of basic tees, a few sweaters, a couple nice sweatshirts, and always remember to immediately throw away worn out or stained items. Then you are forced to replace things.

Outfit #4, trim the bottom - take up another inch or 2 for more intentional 'cropped' look... from a fellow 5'3!

Love your videos, Margaret💖💖💖 I have a question and it might be dumb because I don’t know but when you have a capsule wardrobe, does that mean you get rid of everything else and just keep wear what you’re using for every day?

I think that you should get rid of those pants. Reasoning behind this: think of it the other way around. Say Tate had a shirt that you hated, wouldn't you appreciate it if he got rid of it? I'm sure that you would be happy if he did and feel happier seeing him in a shirt that made him look more appealing to you. So same theory applies in the reverse. Well that's how I stopped and thought about it lol. I just know that feeling of seeing my partner in a shirt that I like, it makes me happy looking at them😍 and I would want my partner to feel the same way looking at me :)

Don't shorten those jeans! If you're petite short pants can just make you shorter. Work on finding a shoe that you like with them. And I SO appreciate you keeping it real. Those early sleepless months are SO hard. It's a true service to show the real thing and finding ways to take care of yourself even in the midst of that.
