I tricked players into 1v1ing their “bad” teammates

Ойындар

Rocket League is full of toxic people who will make it known that they are mad at you. Today I gave players a chance to redeem themselves and beat up the person who called them trash. Rocket League trash talking is at an all time high since ranked hasn't changed much and people are mostly stuck in their rank. Calling out your teammates for being trash is something many people have done before...but what will you do when you're tricked into 1v1ing against the very person you just called trash. This is that video.

    1s brutally expose your weaknesses. Literally any mistake can prevent you from winning. If you can't place shots with some power you won't score. If you can't defend well you'll get scored on. If your recoveries suck you'll get scored on. If your 50s suck you'll get scored. You just have to be very well rounded for 1s

    It's not different. It's just more brutal. If you're great at 1v1's, it'll translate to 2v2's and 3v3's easily. 1v1 trains you in shooting, possession, and challenging. To put it simply, every single pro played a lot of 1v1's at some point. It's just crucial to refine your skills

    1v1 is 1v1. It’s a totally different game. The second game is a good example of this. The “bad” teammate got called out for not being able to rotate, but he blew out the “good teammate” in a 1v1. Rotations didn’t really have anything to do with it though. The win really isn’t conclusive as to who is better because that statement could still honestly be true. But regardless, this video is definitely cathartic for people who have experienced teammate toxicity before and highly entertaining

    @@_Kakoosh That is why it is even more stupid when the toxic idiot prompts you to play a 1v1 to prove a point made in a 2 or 3v3. I am C2 I sometimes sniff C3 but have never seen GC I would say I am solid hard stuck in mid champ. In the Rank I play I play as good as it needs to be in that Rank but I am neither better or worse than that Rank. Still I suck at 1v1 I get trashed in 1v1 as early as plat2 or 3, so what, I am what I am and after beeing in C2 forever I know for a fact that I am exactly where my skillset puts me and anyone else that is in this rank with me has the same issues, Fails, ups and downs as I do all the time. So opening your mouth is already stupid but asking for a 1v1 out of a teamgame just shows me that 1. The player is a child or 2. He is dumb as a brick and still has not understood the nature of the game. Sometimes you play good and sometimes you play bad sometimes you win and sometimes you lose and IMO if you can´t handle that and resort to stupidity then you should deinstall this game. To bad the majority of the community is eihter point 1. or point 2.

Using the same strategy would get you scored on ever single time. Its just a completely different play style and mentality.

  • @ShaunFVG

    @ShaunFVG

    It's a good strategy, but to be the best teammate you have to be able to finish plays too. That's where 1s is the best metric far as individual skill. Your ability to shutdown with defense and be consistent on offense is tested. Being good at both of those will actually get you further in ranks because of all the fundamental training it takes to excel at. Plus you're a better teammate if you can force possessions to your team if they are better on offense but if they aren't you fill that role. Is why GenG is top in NA. The core of that team is built around skills built in 1s

    if i call someone out in a 2v2 or 3v3, its 1. just about this one match, i cant possibly know how good they are in general (i mean theyre in the same rank as me, so if theyre bad in general, then what does that make me?) 2. different to 1v1, im probably like a plat in 1s because im mechanically shit, but im c3 in 3s because i have somewhat decent gamesense. so any trash talker would absolutely destroy me in a 1v1, but that doesnt have much to do with my ability to play 3s. edit: just wanted to point it out, pretty sure most already knew that, the video idea is still nice

    I genuinely wrote three version of this message because this topic frustrates me so much. This phenomenon has become so stromg. Players who think they're better than their rank because they go for flashy mechanics and sometimes hit them or because they "play fast" looking down on players whose strengths are more in solid base mechanics and rotation. The players who rage quit and/or own goal/forfeit with 4 min left are usually the ones who play fast, but super stupid, or they try mechanical shit which works only 50% of the time so you have a really hard time positioning for what could go wrong (or right!). And the prooblem is not that they don't hit everything. The problem is that they think you're worse than them, because solid recoveries and positioning aren't as flashy or they don't realize that it's exactly their inconsistent pacing that makes you look awkward. We are all hardstuck. If you were better that your teammate, you would be at a higher rank. Just STFU and play the fucking game. I'm always gonna be on the side of those people who just try to stay positive and fight till the last second.

    This need to get a Psychological study, why all toxic players in this game acts the same, like the ego from trashtalkers make them playing against you defending opponent's side or go idle. And let's not forget the Forfeit on a 2 0 with 4 minutes left...

    I've seen every one of these mistakes by pros in RLCS, it can happen to anyone. Almost any time I get called out for some dumb mistake, I've either already seen my teammate do the same thing or they do it later in the game.

    This is actually the best idea, the amount of times I’ve been called bad by a teammate who’s doing worse and when I ask for a 1v1 they hit you with “Waste of my time I’ll win anyways” but here if they leave they admit in front of thousands of people that they are worse so they have to play it

    Not really... cause the "bad teammate" has prior knowledge of the challenge and is most likely warmed up and mentally prepared... Its a white knight biased set up... pretty cringe

    This was in casual and im D1. I had a C3 opponent telling his C1 opponent that he was trash. We all ganged up on the C3 because he was being toxic for absolutely no reason. They ended up getting pooped on and I let him know he just got smacked by a D1. Next game, the C3 is on the opposing team again and he again, proceeds to get stomped.
