I Trained Like a Pro Arm Wrestler for 24 Hours
Ойын-сауық
I trained with a world champion arm wrestler for 24 hours. I tried arm wrestling with some of my KZread friends and realized I was terrible. So to learn more I met up with Allen Fischer who is a 27x world champion and he taught me all of the secrets….
Shoutout to Allen & Carolyn for all of their help in this video. Here’s a link to Allen's website where you can learn more about arm wrestling!

Arm wrestling is such a specialized sport. That said there are some lifts you can do in the gym that will translate to arm wrestling, but most don't. Biggest thing for starting is getting the "feel" of using your entire body for arm wrestling, and not just your arm muscles.
@mortenrl1946
Жыл бұрын
Funnily, there is a lot of manual labor that translates much better - Wrists/fingers/forearms are much more active in "classic" work like holding power tools, turning wrenches, that sort of thing. There's a lot of strong armwrestling mechanics and engineers around. Fishermen are often oddly good at it too!
@aldinoindra2742

@@mortenrl1946 I agreed and i can relate on so many levels because i both workouts and doing manual labour and most of the time the skinnny manual labour blokes have stronger, thicker tendon and hands than jacked gym dudes and they are some puller on the table too!

Old school tire shop workers would be pretty good. Imagine grouving tire threads, unloading and loading 18 wheeler full of tires, keep in mind you have to sling the tire up to the ceiling, jacking up cars all day. And stacking 18 every size tire about 8-12 feet high in warehouses, yet some arm wrestlers think just rock climbers and baseball players are better crossovers, I beg to differ!

Ngl more than the content itself, I think these videos speak volumes of how humble Brandon really is as a man. Training isn't easy, and it most certainly isn't pretty. It can get really humiliating at times especially when you train your weaknesses. For Brandon to train in a sport he has no competitive background on, with one of the top legendary competitors in the country, all the while FILMING it for millions of his viewers to watch? Dudes humble, and this humility will take him far.
Good job Brandon I have been waiting for a video like this for a while now!

ArmWrestling fan here. ... This is the BEST expose on armwrestling ever! Especially on a legend like Allen as well ! Too cool and SUCH GOOD VIBES all throughout :)
To those wondering why the focus on speed, especially the displacement from chair to chair. If you look at Allen Fischer, he's a quick pinner, so he relies a lot on his agility (among other things--dude's a beast). Think about it, even before the ref says "go" people are already pulling. The reaction/agility needs to be on point either for you to pin him, or for you to stop the other person from quick pinning you and that is most of the times less than a millisecond. So being quick and agile in this sport goes a long way. Those were some great lessons! It must've felt awesome training with somebody like him. He was an extra in "Over the Top". He has a couple of scenes there that also show how insanely fast he was when he was young.
What a character Allen is. Great guy.

Really cool to see some of what Allen Fisher gets up to, haven't seen that before. Or much of him actually speaking about stuff (some of this is just for the video, but yea). I suppose NEXT is teaching about body position (you're floating in space, not up against the table), and not using the arm in isolation, because that's a far weaker way to armwrestle. Cool stuff! The other thing missing is how to avoid the broke-arm position. I think that should essentially be mandatory on armwrestling videos like this.
