Awesome. Market place is tough. Im trying to pick stuff up but lots of flim flammers out there. Hey kids!!!! If you quad quits running dont take it apart and still think your in the 3k or even 2k price range.

On the Honda trx 450r quad, the bike information (year, color, etc) are stickers. They would be located on the tubes where the upper front A-Arms are mounted. I can see someone removed the sticker on that bike. The main vin is stamped on the plate attached ro the spot where the upper front bumper mount is located. Look at the last two numbers in the vin that will tell you the year of the bike. If it says (03) it's a 2004, (04), is a 2005, or in the case of my 400ex and trx450er (05) means they are both a 2006. Just remember, whatever the number is, round up by one.

Same here, I've whomped on several Rapters in drag races with mine, and all it has is a full exhaust, a port job I did myself and and a stage 2 cam and some jetting. They are torque monsters in stock form. The 400ex is a lot of fun because of how light it is, but it requires some steering mods if you're a big guy. I'm 6' and had to change out the steering stem and bars to make it more comfortable to ride. I honestly don't know if I like my 86 trx250r more or my trx460er. Both are great bikes to me.

Why you never clean anything? Had the motor out and tons of grease and slime on the frame and just bolt the motor back? That would step up your builds by alot. Also could be new videos, showing how to remove years of mud and grease

Because the temps here are still in and out of freezing so i keep my outside water source off until it gets nice enough then i clean them. I need an indoor drain so i can clean on my floor 🤙

Some of the fastest quads I’ve seen were dirty full of oil so that don’t always mean anything

I had a 06' trx450er it was dealership clean like 15hrs in it, iv owned a few yfz450r.. both with big3 the trx has a very aggressive feel/more bottom end very nice quads, yfz ofcourse felt much better handleing wise.

I agree. The yfz felt like it was better at cornering stock, while the trx had better power. That being said, if you're someone like me who learned to ride on 3 wheelers, you know how to compensate for the trx lack of handling.

@@thetrutha2177 Yup i did actually learn on 3wheelers and mini bikes/mopeds. Love 3wheelers. But yeah that was my only complaint with the trx is it needed abit more width imo for me to feel good in it like the yfzr

It depends a lot on the rider and how they know the machine. I've been both modded banshee and Raptors with my trx250r with a 310 kit and my trx450er that only has a stage 2 cam, full exhaust, and a port job that I did myself.

I said I’ll buy it if you get it running

05 with the oil cooler up front. Only year with the oil cooler

Gotta watch out for the frames cracking right by the foot peg bolts. Have had seen that happen on my 05 and many others aswell. We run the in Gncc and a few local xc races. Run the crap out them and take the abuse.

You put a fcr style carb on the 05 it will come alive even more don’t get me wrong they run good with the stock but the fcr is a far better carb

Honda has the power, and yamaha has the cornering. You gotta ride the Honda aggressively like a 3 wheeler when racing with stock suspension on a track.

you can tell quality differance when working on a honda
