I'm with him. I've never actually tasted one because I hate Root Beer anyway, but just the thought of mixing ice cream with soda just makes me nauseous. 🥴

From Northern California - Please try the fries as animal style! They are dry otherwise. Also, chopped chiles on the side. Flying Dutchman with onions instead of the bread, if you like onions. Shakes are supposedly good, but I’ve never had them. I usually get a double double. Secret menu items, too. Research beforehand before you try it! 💛

The fries a trash 🗑🥔 I never get them.

Should have got a regular burger, not the protein burger and you would have liked it better. Their meat is never frozen and always fresh! They slice all of the potatoes all day long for French fries. You need to try again.

@@DaoWoW bruh 😂 Gluten is only found in wheat and some other grains. It's the protein that allows flour to become stretchy and trap air which, once baked, becomes all the little holes in bread. This is a gross oversimplification but yeah outside of wheat and some other grains there's no gluten

Carlo reviewing a burger is like me reviewing a pizza. I cant tell you right now from eating at in n out for few decades that it is by far one of the best fast food burgers out there,. It's in the freshness. Just like Carlo says about his pizza. The ingredients. Thats what makes In n out stand out.

I’m a Southern Californian who enjoys In n Out but isn’t obsessed with it. I think what makes it so popular is that it’s a solid burger for a very low price compared to restaurants and other chains. I love a double double with GRILLED onions and chilies 😋 The fries are absolute garbage! BUT if you ask for them well done they’re extra crispy and taste more like a Pringle lol. You can also animal style the fries. I’ve definitely had better burgers but you just have to know what to ask for at In N Out 😄 try it again! :)

Exactly! You have to work the menu! Definitely get the fries “well done” and get the patties “mustard grilled.” But you shouldn’t have to work so hard to get a good burger!!!

No, no, no. You have to get the RAW onion, not the grilled. That's the original style. The flavor is next level. The grilled onions don't even compare. It provokes me that so many people don't try it the original way because they don't want "onion breath," which doesn't even happen. Try it one time. You'll never go back to grilled. 😋 🌰

In and Out uses freshly cut potatoes. If they tasted bad, they probably needed to change the grease.

When i was growing up, scoops of vanilla ice cream and Coca Cola in a glass was known as a a "Black Cow". So yummy!! Though today, I would use "Mexican" Coca Cola made with pure cane sugar and the original recipe, just like it used to be!!

I’m with you both-I never understood the hype for In and Out. The fries tasted undercooked and mushy to me. I like them crispy, like how MacDonalds does them.

The difference is the freshness of all the ingredients!

At first I felt that way but it’s super fresh, not frozen , great prices, open late and so many secret items not on the menu. My favorite go to is Double-single, heavy tomato, heavy pickles and light fries ( I like my fries soft) SO Good!

Sarah said the French fries were not that good but she sure attacked them! 😂 Carlo looked scared as hell to try the root beer float as if he was going to be poisoned. 😅😅😅😅😅

​​​@@CarloandSarah Should have gotten the buttered grilled bun instead of lettuce bun, and grilled onions (have to ask) instead of raw onion. It really makes the burger pop. Fries must be eaten HOT, salt only. Coke +ice cream = famous "black cow". So delish! Root beer is a "brown cow". Not bad, but Coke is the bomb! They do have a secret menu that peeps rave about. Look it up online before next visit. They won't expand to East coast because everything is made fresh, nothing frozen, and that requires a big prep distribution center in each region first that they have to build before a store goes up. Each new store that opens has a 2-3 HOUR line to get in. Even established stores are quite busy during meal times and no place to sit! Five Guys is 2x the price of In-N-Out here in Arizona. McDonald's prices has gone up dramatically, more than In-N-Out, and the only way to justify that cost is to ask for the burger cooked fresh, not from the heater drawer. Best tasting at McD is the Triple Cheeseburger with only raw onions for $3. Their Daily Double is two patties with Lettuce, tomato, and dressing for $2. They are so good from the Value Menu. But may not be in all areas. 😊

Checkers in Florida used to have a Western Bacon Cheeseburger - bacon cheeseburger, BBQ sauce, fried onion rings. Soooo good. And I always got a banana shake with it.

I’m from LA and you if you get it protein style you have to get it as a double double animal style because the meat and lettuce ratio is better that way. Also the fries are not that great but when you get them fried light well to well done fries they tend to be crispier and a lot better! It makes a difference! :)

Try A&W restaurant, the A&W Root Beer floats is so good taste. Try home-make vanilla ice cream with 7up (from 1950’s).

Back in the 1960s several of the floats were word of mouth viral. I remember having grape soda and vanilla ice cream called a purple cow, strawberry soda and vanilla ice cream called a pink cow, orange soda and vanilla ice cream called a dreamsickle. There were others. I liked the cola with chocolate ice cream float best, my sister's favorites were the strawberry and the orange ones with vanilla ice cream. I don't usually buy ice cream but definitely will to make all variety of floats this summer, they're so nice when it's hot and humid out, plus I can put them in my knock off Stanley Tumbler that really does a great job of keeping drinks cold..

In and Out is just always solid and they never mess up with a menu so simple. Go to order for me is a burger mustard fried, with whole grilled onion, well done fries and you can't forget chopped or whole chillis with each bite.

we’re from Puerto Rico, but I’m been working in College Station TX since the Pandemic, whenever we get back to TX from Puerto Rico, is a must! eat at In-N-Out in Houston! for me Grub Burger or Hopdoddy are the best!

i grew up in cali in the 70s/80s, (In N out) wasnt a thing back then...Hamburgers were amazing (small shops)~~fast foward, they out grew themselves, and for me they dont taste good anymore.

When In and Out came to Houston, I was soooo pumped. Never tried it, waited in a long line, wanted to know what the hype was all about....and it was hellah disappointing. Their fries are weak. I haven't been to a McDonald's in years, but I still proclaim their fries to be the best. In and Out didn't even come close. Their shake was awesome, but the burger was again, meh. Never been back.

Oh man back before McDonald's changed their fries to be more healthy their fries were soo good, back in the 1970s. I wish everyone could taste those fries, they were awesome!

Should look up the secret menu, you can customize everything including the bun. The burger gets way better when you do. I get the 4x4, animal style, with chopped chilis, no tomato, buns with extra toast, and animal fries. Animal style on the burger is key, so are the chilies.

I agree In-and-Out is fine, not bad. Note they are quite accommodating with burger toppings (e.g., ask for extra grilled onions for the burger). The fries are meh, perhaps due to the sunflower oil, frying once instead of twice as done in many other places, and under seasoning. I have requested fry well and that does give them more crisp but it’s still dry and bland.

when i went to cali with my aunt back a few years ago (we’re also from boston 🤭) the animal style fries were so much better than the traditional fries other than that everything is pretty good love your guys vids and you guys smmm❤️🥰

double-double animal style with no tomato, fries well done. that was always my order when i lived in salt lake city. sadly i am on the east coast now and there aren't any in-n-outs for more than 1000 miles.

You didn’t eat it warm when it first came out! The fries are only good when you have them right when you get them. But after it cools, not great… would agree there.

Saraha you have to be careful with the introduction of perfecting the root beer floats.Rootbeer is used to flavor medicine in Europe so when Europeans get introduced to them if not done right its ruined because it triggers medicine memories.

I like to get grilled onions or fresh onion on a double double with cheese. The thing I like is that it’s not a greasy burger.

It does not smell like McDonald.

Back in the day, the jingle was, "IN-N-OUT, IN-N-OUT, that's what a hamburger is all about!" Better than most burger joints by far.

I go to Vegas a few times a year and Its always the first place I go !! Depends on how you order the bread and evrything.

Culver’s has the best Burger!! I’m in Michigan and more of them are opening around the east coast.. hopefully you can try that.. I never liked IN & OUT either.. definitely wayyyyyyy better fast food bugers than that place!!! IN & OUT SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💯

I like their fries because they are made fresh. They cut the potatoes in house. Not frozen. I noticed them slicing them the first time I ever had in and out, it made me appreciate them more.

I don't think anyone says In and Out has the best fries ever. Everyone says its bad. It is cuz they don't double fry it.

In N Out is overrated, but everyone from California thinks it’s the greatest burger ever. I was disappointed too. If you’re in the NYC area, try Shake Shack. They use only the best cuts of beef for their burgers and they always taste amazing.

I went to In-N-Out a couple of years ago and felt the same as y’all! Lol. I’m from the south, so I’m just used to better seasoned food. It wasn’t terrible, though. I will say, I like my fries soft and we went with a native Californian who told them to fry my fries “light” so they were soft. I got them animal style and the flavor was just missing something. But I do respect that they use fresh ingredients, though.

The fries aren’t great, but I do love their burgers! In high school we would go to In n Out after every football game, so it may just be nostalgic for me.

You need to order the double-double with grilled onions.You will love it !!😊

The first time I had in and out I stopped in vegas with my wife's family and we were all in a hurry to the bathroom when we got back to salt lake 😂

The best thing about In and Out is the ingredients. Burger is 100% beef, no crazy fillers or preservatives. Fries are potatoes, oil, and salt. They don't even have freezers or microwaves. I do agree fries are just ok, but much better if ordered well or light well and eaten hot. My favorite burger is mustard grilled (they squirt mustard ofbthe grilland then place patty on). Grilled onions are great, but if you want more crunch, get grilled sliced onion. They take a whole slice and grill. You get caramelized outside with crunch inside. I also do light sauce and extra veg, but that's preference.

We lived in a suburb of LA and there was an In-N-Out restaurant at the end of our street. The drive thru would be packed from open to close every day. I don't eat beef, but hubby does. I can count on one hand how many times in 14 years he got a burger there. I agree with you both about the fries. They aren't good. I prefer Wendy's fries actually since they leave some of the skin on too, but at least they are cooked completely. Hubby prefers Carl's Jr burgers and I get the Beyond burger. Delish.

We call them Spiders in Australia lol. A couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream, then pour your favourite soft drink (soda) over the top. Creaming soda soft drink makes the best Spiders…. yummy.

Carlo The French Fries are freshly peeled and cut russet potatoes. They are not pre-made never frozen.

I went to Canes twice, visits in MD and VA and was very disappointed. Restaurants were dirty, staff rude and confused, they only had ketchup and one other sauce, both visits there were no napkins out and all the empty tables were dirty. In the one in Virginia I got a small soda and the cashier actually questioned me as to why and had an attitude. I was traveling and had 2 sodas out in my car in my little mini fridge so I didn't need a big soda to drink in Canes. If I have a bad experience in one chain resturant I always give them another try, two strikes and I usually give up. In my 2 visits the chicken strips were not memorable and the half slice of toasted thick bread really forgetable. My friends in MD that visited the one that opened in their town have said they are not going back either.

You guys should also try whataburger and do more food reviews, compare with five guys and so on and do a ranking!

WhatABurger my favorite fast food ever that I have not had in 50+ years. I hope to have again before I die. We used to go to the one on Boca Chica Blvd in Brownsville, Texas and in my memory, mind and heart they had the best fast food ever!

I don't know what they're doing with the fries where you are, but here in AZ you see them take a fresh potato and put it into this giant chopper thing mounted to the wall, and out comes fries - fresh, never frozen. Our fries were a regular potato about 3 1/2 minutes before they were served to us.

My sister lives in LA and when I went to visit her, I was compelled to try In-n-out based on all of the hype. I live in NY right outside of NYC on Long Island. I was shocked how mundane it was. It was just like McDonald's hamburgers which are okay but not great. I am with Carlo, of all the fast food places, Five Guys is the best but they are way too expensive now. I hear Shake Shack is pretty good too. The thing is, we have Peter Luger in my town which is a world famous steak house and they have a legit gourmet hamburger made from aged prime beef for only $20. To put that in perspective, this same restaurant typically costs about $125 per person for dinner, so it's the bargain on the century. By the way, I am surprised you don't have Checkers in Massachusetts. We have it in NY. You know, it's not a California franchise, the company is based in Florida. In the Northern states it's called Checkers and in the South it's called Rallys.

Root beer floats are the bomb! Their fries would be better if double-fried. They are fresh but everyone I know finds them to be lacking. The burgers are fresh. I would go for a double-double with grilled onions. The animal sauce makes things very messy.

Every trip when I go to the west coast I have to find an in-n-out burger.

i don't know if you can see this, but you guys definitely need to try it again!!! i love in n out, and a few other chains; but for most to have a good time/enjoy in n out properly is to order the fries well done (they used to be good a long time ago, but i think thats when they stopped cooking it until the golden brown), and the burger fresh. for me a regular order is double meat aka a double double without the american cheese (sometimes i eat it with the cheese, but i dislike american plastic cheese), a vanilla milk shake; and well done fries!!! my generally more extravagant order is a double meat with grilled onions, a Napoleon (might of typo'd that, but too lazy to fix it. its a mix of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream milk shake), and fries well done!!! i'm glad y'all tried it, but saddened by the review a bit; although i will say that the fries are great hot and less good when cold!!

I agree, don’t understand what all the hype is about. We’ve tried it twice on West Coast visits and were not impressed. I agree that 5 Guys is much better but $20 bucks for a Bacon Cheeseburger & reg fries is TOO MUCH! I’d stick with McDonald’s but can’t eat fast food very often at all (health issues) so I guess I’m safe!
