If Dave would have smacked that axe at the end, it would have been permanent emotional damage.

Just the thought that if you had jumped atop the axe at the end it would have reset ALL your progress makes me legit feel bad for other masochists out there who fell for that, whoever made this level is a complete sadist.

Eeh, not really. In the end, that's just another opinion. Many people strongly dislike Troll levels. Even the 'Purpose crafted' ones (which I like) but it's just how it is, some people just want a good ol' fashioned fair level where if you earned your Win you get it.

All troll levels make you think you beat them, that's what they call, the final troll

That level was a little too effective. It broke DGR so much that he didn't fall for the final troll by doing the DGR thing of "smacking that axe" because he was too broken and scared.

i think he realized how bad so many of the mario games were and he wasnt having fun with them and probably canceled the whole event. cuz yea its been a while and theres no word. typical

They called me a heretic in gaming for saying smm2 is better than totk because of all the trolls.

So there has to be a dev exit in this, right? And it's a known thing but you ignore it for the sake of playing the level? Because otherwise how do you get the checkpoints without dying?

I could be wrong but I believe that for this type of levels with forced deaths, there *is* a dev exit but it consists in stuff like "wait 50s at X spot, hit a falling invisi-block, wait 37s, go up the vine and back down, run to the right, hit another falling invisi-block, etc...", basically making it so no one is supposed to figure out the dev exit. I think there are some users who do manage to find the dev exits of some troll levels (for WR purposes, or maybe just for fun/curiosity?) but you probably have to open the level in the level viewer (there's none in-game in Mario Maker 2 but someone made a software for that online) and look at how the level is built and stuff, and it's probably not easy even with all the information at your disposal if the creator really went all in in making the dev exit as hidden as possible. TL;DR There's a dev exit but you're not supposed to reasonably figure it out. :)

I'd like to see a new meta where troll level start including a clear skip the level route at the start for people playing through modes with lives, at least for the red coin type ones with an early checkpoint anyway. The dev typically needs an exit from the start for uploading purposes anyway, so might as well not hide it.

You don't affect the clear rate when you beat a downloaded level since it doesn't actually count as beating the 'real' version of the level

@Boykee1 It means someone smells like sex. And specifically for women, telling them they smell like fish implies their nethers are not clean and therefore smell as such. You can look it up to verify if you'd like, but for further explanation... The ocean has a lot of "spunk" in it due to, y'know, fish procreating. Primarily whale spunk, due to their load size. Smelling like fish means smelling like sex because the smell we associate to fish is caused by fish constantly marinating in spunk.

Big Dad brain here, but I like trying to minimize language that puts you down. So I would say that troll levels prove it can be fun to be a fool. Everyone can act foolish at times, and being a fool can be a good thing, so it's a better adjective than idiot.
