I’m very happy for you! I lived in NYC most of my life, but my stress level is immeasurably better living here in the Pacific Northwest. It’s amazing how healthy you can suddenly feel when you’re not living in a city that is actively trying to crush you. Go figure 😛

I can really relate to this! And coincidentally I just posted a very similar comment above : ) I love Portland so much and while I miss NYC, I so appreciate the ease I feel here.

I moved to NYC in my twenties and ended up staying there for ten years. But life was just hard, man. I got my masters degree and got a job teaching middle school, but I just never had enough money to enjoy living there with all the shows and restaurants and everything at my fingertips but never having enough money. I moved to Portland and soon after realized just how hard life was, how much constant anxiety I'd been dealing with, how stressful life was there. It's been such a change of pace on the west coast and while I have so many fond memories of my time in NYC, I don't see myself returning to that type of life. I hope you continue to find the ease and the joy you're starting to experience in LA : ) And please keep taking us along for the ride!

What an encouraging comment amongst all the chaos 🙃.. I moved to NYC in August and feel it is so difficult to carve out time for your mental health and little rituals that you're used to carrying out. Trying to find a balance, and I've been told Portland is a good option :) Live and learn I guess!

oof, the dread I felt when you spotted that ant... Also, incredible what regular sunshine can do. We finally got some sunny days in san francisco over the weekend after weeks of gloom, and I swear I felt like a different person overnight!

You look beautiful and like you’re glowing from within ❤️. So happy for you Jenny! I’m having an opposite thing where I am actually realizing I really love the hometown I’m in even though NYC was my destination for so long in my head. Here’s to growing into where we’re supposed to be :)

Wow I really understand this moving to a new place and it clicking so much faster than in another place. I had the same when I lived in Montreal and then moved to Berlin! Although both places are home for me, when I moved to Berlin this summer it felt like home os much quicker than when I had initially moved to Mtl

These moments in life are pretty precious- the ones where you're able to find clarity and confidence to make major changes based on intuition/gut feeling- so you should definitely be proud of yourself for harassing that!!

Hey girl, I haven't watched your videos in a long time, but I came back to them only to find we're in similar places, and it's nice to see that reflection. 💕 I'm 28 and in October moved out of my parents home in NJ to CO, and there have been so many growing pains and adjustments. As someone who was born and raised right outside of NYC, I consider it to be part of my home. It is not for the meek. Ten years ago I became best friends with an LA native who went to college in NYC and seeing her try to adjust to the hardships of the city was eye opening. She moved back to LA right after she graduated, and then I visited her there, and I fell in love with everything you're saying. If I could have afforded it, I would have moved there by now, but CO is my new home. Best wishes to you in your new home! xx
