Could end up being a bit of a money pit. Bearing in mind I paid £300 for a gearbox and £120 to fit, plus a new clutch, you're looking at around £500 if it is the box. If it's only the thrust, then cheaper obviously but would you want to get the gearbox out to do the thrust bearing and then not really know until you put it back whether it's the gearbox. Tricky one. Apart from that, pretty good despite the crappy advisories.

Still some money to hopefully be locked in. Whining from the lower end of the gears or when the clutch pedal is depressed. We shall see!

Looking at the advisories on the mot I don't like it .could be very expensive to sort even before the mechanical side. Don't think you checked mot before you purchased. 😩👍

I've pretty much sorted them out ;) just one little issue to fix hopefully, but it's taken a bad seat whilst I sort the others.

Rear axle will need replacing very soon ……had mine done recently £500

Not too bad but not a massive money earner I would have thought.

BCA is a dumping ground for trash at that price. Car looks smart but can’t imagine there will be any profit in that after having the gearbox out?

It can be a dumping ground, like Copart, you can't see in person which adds a risk of uncertainty. Hope I can return some money! :)

It will do it in every gear , if noise is only there only at slow speed I’m afraid it will probably need gearbox . Not very nice job . You have to remove subframe . Best of luck 🤞

@clivesmith4837 found that 4-5 seemed to be less noisy in the end. I would get my mechanic to do the gearbox :)

Yeah , I would check gearbox oil first .

BCA is disgusting .not letting the general public to bid on cars anymore to get the bargains .it was the general public that made them who they are decades ago .. instead of greedy motor traders bidding on there cars now .

Pretty much can only buy cars off autotrader now, eBay or FB. No way of buying them at trade.
