    if the idea "if i can do it, you can do it" is still the main theme here you could change it into "your virgin kitchen" ....but on the other hand the name of your channel already became a brand and stands for the great truth that everyone can cook and become good at cooking and baking. you just have to start... "my virgin kitchen" reminds everyone and yourself for all times on where you come from and how your abilities changed by putting effort in it! So...don't change it!

    You've made whipped cream, not butter. You can make Butter by over whipping cream with a whisk, it will suddenly go from being fluffy whipped cream to watery buttermilk with tiny clumps of butter floating in it. Then pour through a sieve to separate the butter from the buttermilk.

    Barry, from 07:05, you have a bit of tofu stuck on the right side of your head. Just thought I'd let you know. The butter maker should have been shaken until you could hear a lump of butter rattling around. When I was about seven or so (1970), we made some at school, using screw-top jars. The cream will separate into solid butter, and liquid buttermilk, which can be poured off and used to make scones, soda bread, etc. The solid butter should be squeezed out, and dropped into very cold water, and once in there, squished into a ball. Take it out of the water, wrap it in greaseproof paper, and put in the fridge. It should be used within a couple of days. If you add salt, it will last longer. All you need to do is shake it for longer. If you whip double cream for too long with a mixer, it will separate into butter and buttermilk, too.

    Barry it'd honestly be so disappointing to see your channel name changed due to a (fair) few idiots, like, you've stated before as well as it being obvious, you were a virgin to the kitchen, this started from (by the way going on assumptions here as i am a fan but not that much of one XD) a man barely understanding how to make scrambled eggs on toast, to someone who can make a plethora of bakes, understands how ingredients and the kitchen works, and is very versatile in the kitchen, but this was to documment this process of independant learning and to show others everyone starts from somewhere and no one's born knowing their way around a kitchen, it'd be a shame to lose that because of trolls/people who can't think

    I think that you should keep it "My Virgin Kitchen" but if you are really going to change it then I think "Barry's Kitchen" is what you should change it to. Love all your videos and you always make me laugh and smile and I always get cheerful when I see your notification in my subscription feed. Keep up the great work!!

    as a developer... changing channel name won't affect the "algorithm"... that's all handled by Channel ID, not Channel Name, I've seen many people change their Channel Name and they didn't get affected... BUT, I'm in agreement with everyone to NOT change it xD

    You were supposed to shake the heavy cream more. When you make butter like that, it will first froth into a whipped cream then keep shaking really hard and will separate. Can also be done in any container.

    I'm sorry but I have to tell you this: You're supposed to mix the butter beyond whipping cream. This was just the start. 10-20 minutes of shaking is normal. If you put the clips on the knife on the sharp end they won't fall off.

    So I only found this channel recently in the "Transparent Lemon Pie" sort of era of content. So I hold no nostalgia to this name what-so-ever. And yet still: Please dont change the name. It fits the channel so well. I actually thought, the Virgin comment wasnt about you being a novice in the kitchen I thought it was because you strike me as a bit of a dork. Which is completely fine, trust me i'm worse. I thought you were having a joke at your own expense sort of thing. Please dont misunderstand me. Dont read this comment with sarcasm or anything. Its a genuine comment with no trolling intended

    The "My Virgin Kitchen" name works incredibly well. Not only is it an already established and recognisable name, it is also representative of a fair few of your viewers. I for one am a complete kitchen virgin, the main reason I first clicked on your channel was because of what the name represents. Please don't change it because of a few immature people on the internet.

    I'm not trying to be snarky or anything, but it gets mentioned often that a lot of these gadgets can help disabled people. My question is, if a fully-abled person can barely get some of these to work, how helpful to disabled people are they ACTUALLY going to be?

    (I’m disabled, paraplegic) like he mentions, some of these items are probably mostly novelty, and some of them probably need a little more time to set them up right, so who knows. But quite a few of these items would help me in the kitchen and I have some thing similar to things that he has shown. So yeah, depending on the person’s disabilities some of these things will be useful to some people, some of the things won’t. If I went through all of his gadget videos, I could probably make a pretty long list of the things that would help me and I would like to have. Kitchens are not accessible and can be really, really dangerous for disabled people because they are not accessible so a lot of us look for some pretty simple ways of cooking, cause some of us aren’t trying to be fancy, we’re just trying to eat without a trip to the ER.

  • @punky19761

    @punky19761

    Just in this video, the whipped cream shaker would be useful to me. I wouldn’t have to use any type of hand blender or clean it. Also possibly the bug looking thing at the end that cleans the grime off of dishes. I can’t reach the sink with both hands very well, so either that or possibly an easier gadget like that would indeed help me. I’m allergic to soy, but I think the tofu press would also be useful for some disabled people.

    Carbon-based errors are frequently addressed by reading/following instructions--something Barry doesn't spend a lot of time doing. (And they're not all assistive devices; some are just novelty. The point, tho, is to think before criticizing something as a useless unitasker: who might benefit from it?)

    We made butter at the preschool I worked at. Just a jar, a marble, some cream and a little salt. Because my kids were 1, I did all the shaking (older classes let the kids shake). When it turns whipped, you keep shaking until the butter "breaks" and liquid separates.
