These are some of the most 'unusual' markers I have ever reviewed, but what did YOU think of them? Were they worth it...?
Adding to my extensive collection of more than 3,000 markers, I think these MAY just have a place among them.

This was so much fun, I had a great time and hopefully in our next episode we can put this up against a real challenge!

Touch markers are actually the first premium markers I ever bought, a store in my country sells them individually for really cheap compared to Copics. They're pretty great, although their caps can get loose over time, so they can easily dry out. I still keep a couple of Touch markers along with my Ohuhus and Promarkers. Also, Touch is the marker that was the basis for the color system that most cheap knockoff marker brands use to this day. Even Ohuhu used the Touch color system in the first version of their fine nib markers. It's too bad Touch is now linked to all these knock off brands, because they are pretty nice markers and can be more accessible if you live in Asia.

I love my Shinhan Touch Brush markers. They were one of the first brands that I began collecting. Have about 150 colours and used them quite a bit. Purchased them a few years ago and they're still going (haven't touched them as much since I got my Ohuhus though lol). FYI - Shinhan Touch are THE original 'Touch' markers and the original numbering system that many markers brands now use. There are many dupes out there, mostly very budget markers, that us the word 'Touch' and do look similar. However, these are the original and you can tell as soon as you pick up the marker (heavier). Great vid, keep up the great work! :)

@@ADCArtAttack I have them, too. I paid like 130-150€ for this set. I bought them, like 5 years ago here in germany from a website, when I was searching for copic alternatives. Though I would recommend Finecolour, as they have like 480 colours, and are rather nice to work with. Edit: And yes, these are the ShinHan Touch Twin Marker.

Touch is a quite old brand and they use to be one of the cheaper ones. I thought of buying them, atleast 10 years ago, (probably longer) but i went for Spectrum Noir in the end because you could refill them and the 'Touch' ones couldn't. Also Spectrum Noir was much cheaper back then, to be fair.

I’m bringing in ShinHan gouache which is my personal fav but being a novice when it comes to alcohol markers it’s nice to get an honest review from someone who knows. Price here is substantially less, cheaper than any of the big names, so they are very appealing for that reason alone.

Hullo Anthony, I have used the Touch Twin Markers for years and I believe that they instigated the first “bandit” markers! So many rip-off’s are traced back to this brand. I did start with the black touch twins (non-brush) markers since I use my markers in the architecture class. I do think that you picked a re-seller that we sold the markers as they are available at lower prices, but they still are quite expensive being some of the best markers around. Glad you finally got to try them out. I have been so impressed with the Ohuhu markers I got for my wife and I am considering jumping off the Copic bandwagon! Sweet video and I thank you.

I'm definitely going to be diving into those cheap 'rip-offs- after this video. I think we need to run comparisons and educate people on their choices. So many in the comments are convinced they are using the same product for much less, they're unfortunately being 'ripped off' with cheap remakes :(

  • @rvt_art_

I have some questions about these. of course, how do they do against ohuhu? and can you do some research on how the nib changing works on the brush side? if they're really like those from w&n then it's pretty hard to change them out, cuz it's basically like a sleeve that goes over a lil point through which the ink flows.

Don't know if anyone else has commented it yet, but things that says "Made in China", aren't always made in China. They put that on things that they made Korea do for them because of trading and stuff (can't be more specific 'cause I've just woken up and groggy, sorry). Might be why the nibs are pretty much the same.

The suitcase is unique from what I hace seen so far :o Though it might mislead a beginner to store those markes upright, even though they wrote otherwise on the package. I agree that those manufacturing mistakes are a bummer, considering the price. What irritated me the most from the beginning of the video: the name of those markers did sound familiar. I own some alcohol marker, that I bought for a few € from Action here in Germany. Just to try alcohol marker and see, if I want to invest in some nice ones later on. And they are labeled as 'Twinmarker'. Mine are black though. But even the color names ('WG1 Warm Grey' for example) are the same :D There were no info about a refill or exchangeable nibs back then, but if it really is the same company, the seem to have improved :D

Touch markers aren't new. I've had a set for about 8 years. Some of them have dried out. They weren't that expensive when I bought them. They aren't that good. I like my Ohuhu markers much better.

I loved Shinhan-BEFORE they redesigned . I got them for Jerry's Artarama and they were so good! I was sad hen I saw them discontinued. Then I saw they were redesigned and figured to try them out....and my disappointment was and still is immeasurable.

So judging by this review alone, here is my takeaway. PROs: - The ink quality, better than Ohuhu and Copic - The packaging (like bruh, wtaf) - The brush nibs (for people who like the W&N brush nibs) - Disclosing possibility of mismatched colors to caps in certain conditions - Replacable nibs/ink CONs: - $$$$$$$$$ - Brush nibs (for people who don't like the W&N brush nibs, aka me) - Brush nib manufacturing errors - Chisel nib kinda basic So I guess the question remains if these pros are enough to justify all those cons, including price. For me... no. That ink quality looks stunning, but it and the packaging are the only things keeping me invested in what this brand has to offer so far. And as cool as expensive packaging is, it doesn't mean anything if the product itself isn't worth spending the money on.

Why would you guy this when you can buy ohuhu and refill them even if you can't get every official colour if you are desperate you could use copic ink.

$1000 for these? The seller either ripped off the buyer, or this is a lie. I am looking at the marker in the video, it is by ShinHanart. These are not priced anywhere for $1000, not on Amazon or anywhere else. Hate when clickbaity "art" channels show up in my suggestions.
