    You should probably attend a middle school level physics class because a joule is a joule, doesn't matter if it's a spring, HPA or a railgun.

    Well.. yes definately a joule is a joule... But the mechanics of springpowered guns respectively HPA are a little more complex than just that. Spring guns (i tune airguns as a hobby) work with a balance of spring power, chamber volume and piston mass. Basically you want the piston to mostely bottom out before the BB really moves, creating a very high pressure cushion between piston seal and chaber front. If you get it just right your firering noise will be a short clean sound. If you got that right for one BB weight and try lighter BB's youll get an slamming rattely hard sound, trying Heavier BB's youll get an bumblebee type buzz of the piston bouncing on the aircushion.. (within limits you obviusly can add a little BB weight and still get a little more power out) HPA.. well you got all the air in the world, sure most electronical HPA engines wont go to infinate pressures. But you can go pretty high with GBB type mechanical guns and back in the day someone marketed actual 40J PCP airrifles modded with 6mm BB barrels and obviusly choked down to airsoft level power. The Basis was an FX2000 PCP rifle and i do belive i can still put that right back at 40J (1gram / 16 grain pellet/BB) for you within 20 minutes.

    there is a reason why indoor fields measure FPS with specific bbs to count the joule. there's Joule limit not fps limit. and on .2g bb it's about 320fps. what is issue with Gas / HPA is joule creep compared to normal AEGs but if you AEG has tight tolerances it also will joule creep. basic example, gun without joule creep. will see decrease in fps with heavier bbs. gun with joule creep sees less of fps drop meaning increasement in joule. I personally i wouldn't referee anyone to this video.

    stop spreading BS saying hpa produces more energy at lower fps. if a hpa gun is shooting 350fps on a 0.2g bb and an aeg is shooting 350fps on a 0.2g bb they are both shooting at the SAME power. kinetic energy, its as simple as that

  • @Debbiebabe69

    @Debbiebabe69

    the difference is, if you load your AEG with .2g bbs and chrono at 350fps (1.14 Joules), and then load a mag of .4g bbs, you gun will drop down to around 250fps, ie still around 1.14 joules. However, as HPA guns operate differently, if you chrono at 350fps on .2g bbs, and then load up .4g bbs, you gun will still shoot at 350FPS - which is 2.28 Joules.

    Was just about to comment the same thing. I think a lot of the problem comes when sites chrono on a .2 and not the weight your going to use. HPA do have more joule creep than AEGs so if the sites are not taking in to account that side of it. It can sometimes seem that hpa are shooting harder. Again simple solution chrono on the weight your going to use then either use the chrono to work out the joules or have a chart next to the chrono with the given maximum fps for each weight.

    Airsoft in the US must be in a dire situation if this video is anything to go by. Pyro is generally allowed where it's not so dry it's a tinderbox. In the UK, pyro is actively encouraged pretty much year round to add some atmosphere to the game. Only during the height of summer when it's super dry are they restricted. 9mm blanks are just as loud as permitted pyrotechnics. 12 gauge 'saluting' blanks aren't any louder than 9mm blanks in my experience. Additionally, if you're going to tell people that HPA produces more joules than an AEG (at the same FPS), you're dead wrong. HPA systems have the *potential* to produce higher energy (measured in joules) by turning up the regulator. This doesn't happen because at chrono, when it's under the limit, the regulator should be locked by the marshalls to stop the player turning their pressure up. Black gas isn't banned anywhere that has common sense and spot checks for this kinda bait & switch. Red and even black gas is sometimes required in winter months to get guns to cycle properly. Powerful flashlights aren't banned either! Strobe functions are restricted depending on the field owner/operator but flashlights are not, regardless of how powerful they are. I think lasers might be the only thing you've got right in this video. Most fields stick to red lasers only and 'Class 2' and lower which I believe is 1MW and lower. If you're going to misinform people on purpose, you should stick to unboxing guns.

    The metal and glass BB-s as well. However he made a big mistake at that as well. BB weight will affect fps and muzzle energy. So saying that sniper replica is 550 fps means simply nothing. Glass and metal BBs are usually way more heavy than a plastic BB, and depending on the platform they won't leave the muzzle at the same speed... Depending on the platform, different types of gas may or may not affect muzzle energy. In mws build for example a higher pressure gas only increases felt recoil and rate of fire, but not by a lot either. Also he is showing almost everything in real use on a field, so are they banned really? :D

    OK thing to remember 1. The 22short 8mm and 9mm blank grenades are QUIETER than a CO2 grenade like a thunder B 2. Joule creep is a PROBLEM because of the HPA issue, it's not that it produces more energy, it's that a heavier bb will spend longer in the barrel being constantly accelerated so will leave the barrel with more energy. So you take a HPA gun that fires at 1j with a 0.2, you put a 0.4 in it for in game and it's actually doing 1.8 to 2j. You can get an aeg to do the same if built for it specifically but the difference is MUCH MUCH SMALLER the max you can get an aeg to do is a 0.2 to 0.3 joule difference between a 0.2 and a 0.4

    An impulse results from mass times speed. Mass is given by the BBs weight and the speed is given by the fps measured by the chrono. There are no other variables to determine the energy of the impact. Meaning 300 fps from an AEG carry exactly the same energy as 300 fps from an HPA given that the BBs weigh the same.

    Great video, I had a tag grenade land in my lap at a milsim without immediately exploding while I was laying down by a doorway, I panicked and kicked it away and it exploding right when the tip of my steel toe hit it. The 1/4” leather was blown off the front of my boot exposing the steel and the rubber soles were mangled. My foot survived though!

    I got some Taginn TAG-67 pyro grenades years ago and they're terrifying. I make a habit of testing all products before fielding them and for the TAG-67s I was most concerned about fires but also close proximity detonations. I tested the grenade by tossing it under a small plastic storage bin with some old blankets on top to weigh the container down a bit. When the grenade detonated it nearly blew the container apart and launched it a good 3 meters into the air, so I never fielded the TAG-67s and still have a few to this day. As far as black gas goes, I have used black gas before but only when playing in very cold conditions as I found that green gas will lose effectiveness in cold weather. I'm not quite sure if this is because of fittings compressing in the cold or some other reason (as I never researched extensively as to why it might happen), however using green gas in -10C conditions I found that airsoft guns simply wouldn't function at all or become so unpredictable I wasn't comfortable running them. Switching to black gas and testing at conditions seemed to fix the problem and never "over-juiced" the guns.

They thought the deposit was the opposing group base. Luckily one of their group questioned why the guys they were preparing to attack had made such a strange noise when loading their weapons.

    this makes a very compelling argument for BB guns used for self defense, i remember someone saying something like "if you don't know how to fight, and you're sacred of getting into one, just research the top 10 banned moves in mma, they're banned for a reason." so you could end up in a worst case scenario like "ah, someone is on my property but i don't want to murder someone...i shall introduce 95fps metal bbs in their direction" but maybe i'm just a madman
