I-Team: Douglas County judge faces 50 counts of alleged judicial misconduct
By Randy Travis
Published July 18, 2022
LITHIA SPRINGS, Ga. - Some ugly moments in a March 2022 homeowners association meeting has Douglas County Probate Judge Christina Peterson in more legal hot water.
Peterson already faced complaints from a state regulatory board which last year asked but failed to get her temporarily suspended from office.
Only elected less than two years ago, Peterson must now defend herself against 50 counts of violating the Georgia Code of Judicial Conduct. No one can remember a larger number pending against a sitting Georgia judge.
The most recent allegations involve her comments during that HOA meeting at the Silver Creek Ranch neighborhood in Lithia Springs, organized as a friendly gathering, so the neighbors could get to know the new HOA president.

Spokane county in Spokane Washington is so corrupt that when I tried to complain about a slum lord among many. I wasn't given any space to speak about the abuse. The judge was also a drunkard. She would get drunk before going to work and we could tell and the community knew that she was a drunk yet she wasn't held accountable for her misconduct and it was a no wonder why slum laws were getting away with abusing tenants by not correcting the problems in his apartment he was renting. People were getting murdered in one of the apartments I rented but the junkies doing whatever they want Spokane is run by a corrupt congresswoman. My cousin Joe Pakootas ran for congressman I think back in 2016 and they rejected him and I believe because he's native American not European American. @hewhohasnoidentity4377
Жыл бұрын
If you are surprised she is still on the bench, I might be able to help you understand. Most judges are elected by voters in elections according to the process required by the state constitution. When someone is elected, it is very hard to remove them from office. Typically it requires a recall vote or an impeachment proceeding. Judges can have their bar admission taken away, and therefore become ineligible, but that requires very serious circumstances that don't come close to applying here. Even if she were to be found guilty on all counts, it would not be unusual for a lawyer to given an opportunity to take classes, get counseling, and have another lawyer monitor them for a probation period. Her being an elected judge, the state bar is forced to believe that the voters chose who they wanted in that position. It is not up to the state bar to overrule the voters. Removing judges at any level has only happened a handful of times in the history of the country. Also, many judges are able to serve for many years unopposed so the election is just a paperwork formality. And, just like everyone hates Congress but doesn't think their representatives are the problem, the same is true for judges. Elected officials don't have to care what anyone thinks other than the eligible registered voters that actually vote in every election. In some places an off year election usually has less than 10% turnout.

Investigate every judge in the country. Do a full audit of the entire judicial system. If you think this is an isolated or unique case, you would be wrong. This kind of corruption is systemic.

I agree that they need to be looked into and held accountable. Florida judges are corrupt, too. Power brings out a true character of an individual. Some individuals with power cannot handle having power & take advantage of it. I had done some research and an attorney had stated that even if many (Not stating everyone) wanted to do good & help others at the beginning, they end up changing because they get more benefit by abusing their power.

What is her behavior, do you really know, or did you just hear them say bad judge, do bad things? I heard no concrete examples of her wrong doing, just bits and pieces of stories, and suggestions she was wrong. What was the real reason she sent that woman to jail? They say they woman stole 70k, well how? She ignored the sheriff, and held weddings, well I doubt that is illegal, sounds more political than anything. Everybody is jumping to conclusions.
