I talked about autism and women at a local school!

I talk about my experience talking about autism at a local school.
On another note, what facts about me would you like to know? Please post them in the comments section below (I love the fact that sentence rhymes!)

Good work on your talk and I'm glad it went well. It's important that everyone learns about autism from listening to autistic people and talking to them, not just reading about them in a textbook or seeing them (often as stereotypes) on film or TV.

Your talk sounds like a positive experience for everyone involved. Bravo! You’ve shot in this room before and I thought the lighting was much better - a more diffuse, even light. I like your random fact of the day. I’d forgotten all about the small cardboard box of raisins.

That was very interesting to hear about, and I'm glad it went so well! I bet the teachers there took away a lot of information from your talk. I'm constantly learning things from you, and I'm autistic, so I can only imagine how much a non-autistic person (NAP, right?) could learn. I love the idea of you telling random facts about yourself. I know exactly what you're talking about with the little red cartons of raisins. We have those here, too. In fact, I keep a big bag of those types of raisins in the house, because I use a cup of them whenever I make soda bread. I never pretended they were sweets, though. I think I've heard someone say that raisins are nature's candy, so that ties in well. A couple of questions that I have are: Do people in your life handle your autism well, or do they respond negatively a lot? Have you ever played any instruments? If you had a to choose one big item to buy (if money wasn't any object), what would you get?

Thanks for those, will put them on my list. Each week I will answer one or two questions from the list! I will keep you guessing what one I will answer next week...

I'm so glad you had the opportunity to speak to some educators about autism in women. I'm sure it will change the lives of some their students. The best way to change culture is via the education system. Random facts are nice. Do you have a favorite texture? I find that certain textures bring back memories from my earlier years.

Cool, thanks, question on my list. Idea is each week I will answer one or two (depending on how long it takes to answer) questions from viewers, so yours and the others will be on list and then each week I will alternate answering questions from different viewers , hope that's okay :)

Congrats for your talk and glad that it may happen again. Tomorrow I'll go to a talk in a small library given by one of our autistic stars, Josef S. he is a lovley person with very high IQ and a lot of diplomas, the other autistic star we have is Daniel Tammet same super high IQ and synaesthesia, he also have a computer in his brain and can do maths better then Google !! By the way he is british and lives in france. He is sweet too but all the TV audience still think autistic persons are strange men with superpowers or they are rocking retards with saliva on their shirts. I have noticed that women are also often accused to want to draw attention by saying they are autistic. I'll go there and have fun ;) Good idea for the random facts I like it.

@@welcome12ization Yes I have red it, it was fun, the book is almost a huge collection of interesting facts. Both of them are very good authors. Josef's books have more human dimension to them even though he looks much more autistic, I know, it was stupid to say :) If I can talk to him, maybe I'll ask him to talk also about women and the invisible side of autism next time he goes on tv show. You too can take advantage of asking people questions because many people like to answer. Personally I have many questions but I cant choose one particular. It make no sense if I ask you is it hard to communicate? :)
