Thank You! I purchased a guitar that had the Lyric system already installed. The previous owner installed the battery on the block that contains the serial number and model number. They also wire tied to the top sound board. I removed the entire system and purchased a new battery pack pouch and adhesive clips from our friends over at StewMac.I cleaned up the old install and followed your instructions. The Lyric works extremely well. All wires are secured properly and are out of sight and away from the sound board. This was very helpful. Thanks again!!

I like the Lyric mic. I have had a few of them. That said, I'd rather have a Jimmy. Not sure what it is about blue muppets that gets me right in the ticker. 🙂

Great video. I'm installing one this weekend and have watched a number of them. LOL Questions: Curious, why did you switch from the step bit to the 1/2", accuracy maybe? Also, and again curious, why you didn't put masking tape over the hole to lessen the chances of tear out on the outside of the guitar? Not being critical, just trying to learn from as many artisans as possible. Thank-you.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I would assume you have already taken the plunge by now. I had to switch from the step bit to the 1/2" because I had to drill all the way through the tail stock (several inches). Masking tape probably would have been a good idea. I got lucky and had very minimal tearout. Hope your install went well.

I did what you did. Step bit till 7/16 and then 1/2. Interesting I didn't get any tear out and I didn't masking tape it. If doing again I would though. Thanks again for the inspiration you provided.

Yeah, that would have been great. I didn't have an amp at home at that time...I plugged into the one at church to test it. Sorry about that. I installed a K&K Pure Mini on another guitar I have (Simon & Patrick) and I think I like the sound of it even better. The mini was a little harder to install, and doesnt have a volume selector, but I get more volume out of it and the sound is great. The Lyric was easier to install though.

@@PatrickParsonWorkshop Well, thanks again for posting the install...it gives me the huztbah to do it myself. Thanks for the feedback on the K and K pure Mini. I wonder how much of it was the guitar vs. the pickup. Still a bit torn betwix the two, but given your experience leaning towards K and K again.
