Very nice video, and very nice trip... I've worked a lot with these 60' Land cruiser in the Sahara desert in Algeria, and I can say that these Land Cruisers are very robust and real off roaders, thanks for all the team making this video possible.

I ran a 60 for 22 years in PNG ...no highways...just really rough roads...minimal mods...it was so good I just couldn't part with it. My boys grew up in it on trips to really remote bass fiishing spots fully loaded with the Steber tinny on the roof rack . The kids (now grown up) still refer to it as "The Tank," but in a very respectful manner. Bulletproof !!!!

I loved my 12HT 60, put 580k on her and sold it for more than I paid for it, only complaint was the narrow footwell for the driver due to the large dif in the front, did a 1500k run non stop out of NT and fell out of the vehicle, but as a 4x4 it was assume, never let me down. A tribute to Toyota's first go at making a 4x4 both tough and comfortable.

I drove into a beach at Beachport in SA and turned right and stopped wasn't bogged, but with what you taught me I was able to rock backwards and forwards and eventually reverse about 20 metres and then gun it out of there over a sand dune with tires at 14 psi. Another great video Ronnie! Interesting that Aussies like the Chevy/Detroit 6.2 Diesel engine when Americans mostly despised it for being low on power. I think it was under appreciated here. Are the AU versions naturally aspirated? Even the U.S. Military 6.5L Turbo version in the H1 was universally disliked by military personnel... I liked them both/all because they will rev unlike the Cummins 5.9 and they do respond to the same mods that wake up any diesel. The fate of the Chevy/Detroit was sealed with the introduction of the Chevy/Isuzu Duramax. I had one for a couple years and it ran well but had expensive injector problems. It is sad that U.S. lawmakers stifled the use of diesels in smaller trucks/Utes... we envy you for all the diesel choices you have had.
